Here is what Christians need to do: “…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2) How many are seeking transformation by the Spirit of God? Those with unregenerate minds are in no condition to preach to others about morality. Those with transformed minds don’t need to. They lead by example. You’re worried about America. What about yourself? Are you poor in spirit? Are you pure in heart? Do you hunger and thirst for righteousness yourself? Focusing on the sins and failings of others is a deadly sin that Jesus hated.
Compare the three statements..
- You don’t know God is real and you don’t know he isn’t
- You don’t know Zarg (ruler of the Solar System) is real and you don’t know he isn’t.
- You don’t know Dobbin (Lord of the Unicorns) is real and you don’t know he isn’t.
Tell me how they differ epistemologically, and why we do not think about all three questions equally
You are on repeat (see your last reply)
So I won’t bother repeating my initial replies to this thread.
You had me 100% until you said this. He said focus on yourself first, and don’t judge others if you’re not ready for the same judgment. The point is to judge toward building each other up (growing) rather than merely tearing each other down.
Still focused on my own growth, but I know how to raze a field ready for growth, mark that.
And that makes it hypocritical why?
If I like vanilla, is it hypocritical to watch a video of someone eatching chocolate? I don’t get it. You need more of an explanation than just “because it’s gay”. What’s hypocritical about it?
Will you speak a bit about which observations you’re talking about?
- I did not necessarily direct that to you.
- Your answer was not satisfactory.
- Why don’t you give it your best shot this time, rather than just dodge like you did last time?
I’m saying if these heterosexuals are saying homosexuality is wrong and yet they’re slobbering over two females that are together, they’re hypocrites. If if I’m sitting here saying I’m heterosexual because homosexuality or bisexuality or yadasexuality is wrong, but I’m slobbering over two guys going at it—am I a fan of STRICTLY heterosexuality? I’ma go with no on that. I don’t know why this needs to be explained, but there you go.
I now punt back to my previous statement:
Will you mind your own business?
I think I did pretty well for someone for whom you didn’t even bother attempting a counterargument.
I’ll help you out. Start here: You don't know God is real and you don't know he isn't - #7 by Ichthus77
THat is pretty pathetic.
I deal…
Let’s start at square one.
-
It is either 100% true that Gandalf exists, or 100% true that Gandalf does not exist.
-
If it is 100% true that Gandlaf exists, we are 100% insane if we believe otherwise.
-
Likewise, if it is 100% false that Gandalf exists, we are 100% insane if we believe otherwise.
Deal?
I think the orignal is wrong for 2 reasons. I’m giving you these free. You might be able to use them against me..
Point ONE is question beggin nonsense for the simple reason that (in your version) “god” can mean just about anything. So you have the advantage here since we all know what is meant by “Gandalf”.
Point Two and Three are nonsense too since believing is a matter of choice and variable knowledge. We could simply be ignorant of Gandalf or God. This is not insanity..
No, you’re writing in a public forum so you’ve made it all our business. It’s you’re business when you keep it to yourself.
But you realise not all heterosexuals say it’s wrong, right? Before, you said it’s hypocritical just for heretos, not specifically for heteros who say it’s wrong. Obviously the latter is hypocritical, but the former clearly is generally not.
You’re quite unique if that’s the reason you’re hetero. That’s not the reason most of us are. Maybe you’re naturally a lesbian / bi, sounds like it.
.
Someone in this thread is getting served their karma, on a platter of solid lead.
..as @meno41 said: “philosophy ain’t for the faint of heart” ..or something like that.
Matthew 7:3-5
New International Version
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
The day we forget that we all fall short of ‘perfection’ (whatever that is) is when we show our outlook as exclusionary, tribalist, and generally opposed to truth, unity, beauty, and goodness.
The Gospel is also, “Truly I tell you, whatever you [do or] did not do for one of the least of these, you [did or] did not do for me.”
I decided that, even though you’re replying to me, I’m only going to reply to RealUn. My comments were for them. I know this is a public forum, and I know you’re an administrator of some sort here, but I do not feel obligated to reply to you, because you do not feel obligated to correctly represent me.
At any rate, you sound like a really happy person, and I’m sure this is not going to bother you in the least.
Thank you for engaging me. Your efforts are appreciated.
Fantastic strategy to avoid dealing with criticisms of your ill-thought ideas.
Why thank you, kind sir.
Back over to you, @RealUn.
Completely false, I can view and pass judgment upon homeless bums, thieves, degenerates, sexual perverts… which is exactly the point. YOU are incapable of such. YOU leave it in the hands of ‘Jesus’. YOU turn a blind eye to the problem.
YOU take no responsibility for yourself, your society, or anybody.
If you Christians could take anything from Christ, it ought to be, that the plight of the worst men, the most diseased, is upon YOUR hands now. But you keep handing your morality back to Him. You don’t want it. You never earned it. You were never really “Christian” from the beginning.
Liars.
