You, yes, you

What you are is different and separate from what you do.
What you do is not who you are.
What you have done is not who you are.
Everything that you have done is only your history.
You are not your history.

Whatever you do cannot replace who you are.
Whatever you do cannot change who you are.
Even whatever you habitually do is not who you are.
You are not your habits.
Your habits can only aid or hinder in the achievement of your goals.
You are also not your goals.

You are the doer of your deeds. You are not your deeds.
You are the thinker of your thoughts. You are not your thoughts.
You are the feeler of your emotions. You are not your emotions.
You exist.
You exist before and after your deeds.
You exist before and after your thoughts.
You exist before and after your emotions.
Deeds come and go, thoughts come and go, emotions come and go, yet you endure.
Because you endure it is preferable to accept yourself.

Nobody else can be you. You cannot be anyone else.
Because you must be you it is preferable to accept yourself.

No matter where you go, you are always there.
Because you are always there it is preferable to accept yourself.

No matter what you do in this world, you cannot go away from yourself
Because you cannot go away from yourself it is preferable to accept yourself.

Hi Xanderman, it’s been awhile. Hope you’re well and have been lucky. That piece has me on the run from a feeling I’ve been ducking. Lays it all out, lays it dead, like Wittgenstein only shorter. Can’t say I’m happy about it - all that fucking fine print. Binding as hell. Kings make the laws. And we ain’t kings. Not even future kings.

I’ll settle for a future friend.

ah but xandarman, all of these things, your thoughts, your deeds, and your “history” are part of you even if they are not you. everything is connected, except what isn’t.

GliderPendalehaven,

Oh shi-

You called it right! That totally made me laugh. Everything IS connected, except what isn’t.

Hey Gamer,

I have been unwell and unlucky, but that has lead me to some very interesting places. I don’t envy anyone this kind of journey but this momentary destination is quite nice. After lots of running around I found the way out. I think the whole floor was the secret trap door.

No matter what I be, I always be me. And thee always be thee.

OK. We are friends. (In the future!)

Don’t let yourself get too unlucky or unwell before coming to future friends for help.

Albert Ellis FTW

I’ll do my best. Pride sometimes still gets in my way.

Yeah. Why didn’t I ever hear about this guy’s work while majoring in psychology? He needs better promoters.
