Yuppyism

Yuppyism is a form of valuation for the naïve, a way of sitting back in an armchair, devoid of life. Unlike most ways of life, yuppyism produces no morality, but like most other ways of life it relies on distortion and delusion, perhaps far more than has ever been know.

Yuppyism is the full expulsion of self, a pre-requisite to retardation. It is mind numbing its own conditions and growing weary of itself, for to apprehend the world outside of their abode of living gives rise to fear, as opposed to apathy. One will usually either remain a yuppie or advance beyond to one of complete decadence. Complete lack of self-control. Rather or not the yuppie overcomes his station, to a more base, but extravagant one or sinks back into reality depends not on inherent strength of the individual, his impulse to self-honesty and his ability to endure pain, to not pathologies pain and loss but to understand it - because he never would have become a yuppie if he had any of those qualities. The yuppie is above the other 95% of humanity, in base material living standards, but will remain nothing but a mere depressive and hedonist type. One on there way to yuppyism, to avoid such doom, must not only discovers naturalistic philosophy, which is not just to be able to speak of it articulately, but to create it with in himself.

Yuppyism cannot be prevented from the avoidance of mere depression or weakness. For those born to be it, it must be avoided through inherent strength; the only question is, is that strength enough to overcome even a shallow niche of intellectualism with openly adoring friends and inwardly adoring enemies, the most common placater known to man - even that beyond religion - and the perception of weakness that some believe must always come with old age?

It sounds like you missed the point.

To really become a true self you must learn to objectify everything in existence. This can only occur when slipping outside of your current paradigm, because definition can only occur through differentiation.

The only complete decadence is the complete lack of the realization that you are living in complete decadence. O:) :evilfun:

That’s a very accurate description of what I was missing, yes.

When it comes down to it though, to fail at being one’s true self only means that one’s self has not developed in adequate proportion to one’s intellect.

This implies that one has previously been subject to a significant amount of emotional stunting and/or damage.

Yuppyism is a side effects of weakness relative to its own specter of strength.

This is what it means when I wrote, “Yuppyism cannot be prevented from the avoidance of mere depression or weakness. For those born to be it, it must be avoided through inherent strength; the only question is, is that strength enough to overcome even a shallow niche of intellectualism with openly adoring friends and inwardly adoring enemies, the most common placater known to man - even that beyond religion - and the perception of weakness that some believe must always come with old age?”

This setup breeds a certain kind of psyche, one with particular isomorphisms of motive and desire, mechanisms for managing encounters with reality.

The consistencies of this psychological type are such that it can be counted on to produce the same kinds of cowardice from one individual to another.
