I made this in 8th grade (middle school=DeviantArt.com ) during lunch and studyhall one day. I dont know why, but at the time i remember being exceedingly proud of it.
I was going through my archieves (the garbage bag of papers under my bed) and came across it, and just wanted to know what you guys think.
Now, im not a huge fan of the title i chose when i was 13, but, i decided not to change it.
its just 2b pencil on paper, and then “scanned” (but really i just took a picture of it with a digital camera)
i apologize for the poor quality.
Comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as i think after finding this i may turn it into a painting.
Pretty darn good for thirteen: – both in subject and execution.
…Life out of death?
…Beauty out of the heart when the corruptible mask has passed away?
If i find more, i’ll post it. In retrospect, it was really dark, and pretty free flowing with the symbolism for the time. I think my style took a turn for the worst lately, maybe i’ll go back.
I really enjoyed that one! =D> Ok, so it’s a bit morbid, yes, but it is still very creative! Way to go! Interesting, lively, organic mode of drawing. I like distorting the human image as well. Believe it or not, I drew a woman with a head hanging from her mouth once, cannibal-style. So cannibal’s hair flows down straight into the hair that hangs down from the head’s long straight hair. A critique on the ruthlessness of modern society, I guess. I draw poles through people’s hearts and stuff as well. I’m totally not a sadist or anything, I guess, I’m the victim being depicted in most of my pics, so, yeah. But keep up your cool stuff. I like the “old-school, mysterious edge” to it that the brown paper gives.
