the Marxist quote that philosophy is to....

Marx once wrote, that the point of philosophy wasn’t just to
understand the world, it was to change it…

so, let us think about what changes we would and should make
to the world?

  1. to turn philosophy from a field of study that is left behind in
the classroom and forgotten once removed from the classroom…

Philosophy should become a “way of life”… we hold X philosophy
and we should act upon that philosophy as a way of life… just
as the Greeks held philosophy… it was, for them, not just
as field of study and then left in the classroom… philosophy
was a “way of life”… you didn’t just study philosophy, you lived it…
and the Christians did the same thing in their understanding of
Christianity… it wasn’t just a trip to the church on Sunday and the
rest of the week was actively practicing worshiping Mammon and
denying the word of god… as modern Christians play act as being
Christians…Pro-life for example… they aren’t… they are pro-money
and pro-fetus but they are clearly not pro-life…

if you are a Christian, you must engage in Christianity as a “way of life”
and not play act it on Sundays for an hour or two…

  1. we must take our words and take them seriously…
if as a country we claim we are ‘‘American exceptionalism’’
then we must act as if that were in fact true…
what actions are we engaged with, right now, that
justifies this claim of ‘‘American exceptionalism?’’
we should be able to point out some action or actions that
support our claim of ‘‘American exceptionalism’’… so tell me what
action or actions taken by us, as Americans, individuals or collectively,
that supports the claim of American exceptionalism?‘’ say within the
    last 20 years…

  2. our words, both individually and collectively, our words match
our actions…if we claim to be an Christian nation, then we must
    act like a Christian nation…

we cannot claim to be pro-life and then advocate for the death penalty…
if we are pro-life, then we must be pro-life in all situations… not
just when it is convenient for us…

  1. we cannot allow America to place profits before people…
that is nihilism… to negate people and their values…
and putting profits before people is negating/dehumanizing people…
the entire capitalism system is an organized system of nihilism…

  2. to this end, we must put people first, not profits,
not property, not corporations, not even our political system…
if we don’t put people first, then we are engaged in nihilism…
