the case of Enlightenment vs Enlightenment...

we have the western period of Enlightenment, and we have
the eastern understanding of Enlightenment…

the eastern understanding of Enlightenment centers, in part, on
the message of the Buddha…but think about both…the fundamental
aspects of both is the same…to remove beliefs, thoughts, idea’s,
feelings that prevent us from getting to where we want to be…

both Enlightenments revolves around the word, freedom…
how are we to gain freedom? Both hold that we are held in bondage
by idea’s, feelings, beliefs, religious and otherwise…

we can only escape our bondage by going from dishonest, false,
fake, deceitful, beliefs and values to real, authentic, genuine
beliefs and values that accurately reflect what it means to human
in this reality.

Authentic is a word that crops up later in existentialism…

to become who we are, who we really are, we must explore the
human condition as it relates to us…

the specific beliefs and values we are overcoming is ours and ours alone.
but the general idea of overcoming our training, our education, prejudices,
and indoctrinations has existed for over a Millenium, or since the days
of the Buddha…what was true for the Buddha was true also of Voltaire,
to remove those harmful and dangerous indoctrinations that held us back
in the past… indoctrinations that were unable to allow us to step
into the future…
