Confront Satyr

Okay…

K: and once again, we see a 4 year old with nothing more than
insults… more intellectual laziness… do you have anything else?

Kropotkin

I reciprocate in kind.
I never give more than I receive.

K: and more lies you tell yourself…
I wonder, truly wonder if you have ever, ever had an honest
moment with yourself and truly tried to engage honestly with
who you are and what it means to be human?

Kropotkin

Too funny…

I can’t think of much grievance on my own part.

Others better get to it though…before the dancing half-man half-goat retreats into the deep & dense Woodland, dancing and blowing Lutes along his way. Woodland animals, deer, wolves, were-wolves, following in his wake. The common folk cannot find such ancient and mystical Grottos, full of merriment, intoxication, naked Dryads, where the forest denizens dwell. When the fire light dies-down, the crickets chirp and sing loudly, the stars bright enough to break the canopy overhead, and always a last drunken Satyr wandering, looking for his bed, lost, chanting verses of ancient melodies.

Feels like we haven’t heard from someone since at least last year. R.I.P.

“happy me-ewe year” - name withheld

Funny, I was thinking just the other day if this I Love Philosophy community still existed, after all these years, and to my biggest surprise it not only still exists but YOU are still around here, and basically as the same consummate provocateur you were 18 years ago.

It’s quite interesting, in this so called “age of the social”, in which many people are becoming millionaires by basically telling others how stupid they are, to find a person who takes freedom of speech to its utmost limit, and somehow manages to get away with what most others pretend to abhor the most: unbridled frankness. Actually you were one of the very few people I ever found on the internet with this ability to be brutally honest at all costs, while most others engage in endless conversation only to “agree to disagree”, ie, are totally satisfied in saying the same things over and over again (the same things millions of others say), knowing full well nobody will hinder or ‘cancel’ their freedom of speech- since it is 100% harmless anyway.

One would think that in a philosophy community like this the idea of being challenged would be tempting. Isn’t it a good thing for a would be philosopher to have his ideas tested? Isn’t it interesting for him to show that his ideas are not only grandiloquent words, absolutely devoid of any importance in his actual life? So, if a guy says, for instance, that he is a “Marxist”, isn’t it a great test for him to be confronted with the logical implications of his “belief”? So that he may not be called a hypocrite or a straightforward lunatic when he keeps believing in marxism only theoretically, while still living as far from marxism in real life as he could possibly do? The same logic could be applied to any other ‘system’, to any other ‘ism’. We are used to have our beliefs, our own favorite -isms, “respected” by people- but only so long as they think our beliefs are harmless. Wherever we dare to think (and act) ‘outside the box’, wherever our language doesn’t seem to fit the limitations of political correctness, we are judged and ‘cancelled’, so that the others may keep their facade of respect for others and for themselves, even though the only respect that would matter to you, as an individual, they can’t give you. The more you speak openly as what you really are, the less ‘sociable’ you become, so in the end you come to the obvious conclusion that you either be happy in talking exclusively to yourself or you do what most others do- and start to say nothing AT ALL.

I must say I’m glad to see you’re still around, somewhere to be found in this fake internet world of idiocy and commonplaceness, where we found so few people capable of even a shred of original thinking that when we found one, it’s like meeting an alien.

Also, I should be thankful for your recommendation that I should read Stirner, as “Der Einzige und sein Eigentum” has become the ultimate reading in my life.

I appreciate folks who take positions they don’t necessarily hold and struggle to defend just to provide contrast against which to polish or reveal the structural (lack of) integrity of your position. Even if your position boils down to “I love you despite your ugly moments…but if you’re going to push me away…I won’t resist that refusal of consent.”
