maybe the way you want to feel would lead to that if everyone wanted to feel the way you want to feel but it’s likely that not everyone does. you should ask yourself what it is about yourself that makes you think this.

Somehow not everyone is as wise. Many try to just ‘guess’ the meaning of life, remaining perfectly passive before it, thus their life remains meaningless. Such a life is just a sort of animated death.
I may be wrong here but it seems to me that the above is more about pleasure seeking than searching after the purpose of life which purpose will be different for everyone.
I suppose though that, simply put, it comes down to individual human evolution.

does finding the purpose of life seem pleasurable to you? if it does, and pleasure seeking is bad, then you have to give up on finding the meaning of life…right?
We were speaking more of seeking the purpose of life, (our own purpose of life) not so much finding it. I suppose that it can be pleasurable in a not-so-inordinate way…satisfying to know that you are about doing and looking for what you feel you were created for and that you are on the right track.
Pleasure is not bad - being hedonistic can be. What happened to Dorian Gray? Is there any “real” meaning in seeking only pleasure? I think that meaning can be lost in that way, don’t you?
