Here’s what I suggest…
That conservatives/Republicans who are not afraid of different opinions watch the Democratic convention this week. And that liberals/Democrats who are not afraid of different opinions watch the Republican convention next week.
Then the week after both conventions are history, they convene on this thread in order to note all the times that the other side was in fact able to change their minds.
I’m guessing that no minds are likely to be changed at all.
So, see you in three weeks to find out if I am wrong.

Whatever you do, keep focused on the personalities and the parties. Never bring up policies. You don’t want to do that. Focusing on policies gets you nowhere. Besides, using policies as a means to get elected is how Hitler got power so the socialist left should never do anything Hitler did. Asking for policies like universal healthcare – especially during a ‘pandemic’ – is shortsighted, selfish and undermines the Party.
My suggestion is to keep focused how cool the 3 days of Democrat propaganda was. Talk about all the celebrities, how well they spoke, who was inspiring etc but steer clear of policies.
In the 2016 final episode, the Democratic Party went before the TV fans WITHOUT a push for a $15 p/hr min wage, WITHOUT a universal health care plan WITHOUT educational debt relief, WITHOUT a way to make housing more affordable, WITHOUT an end to fracking or oil drilling in Alaska, WITHOUT stopping the TPP or NAFTA and the continual outsourcing of millions of jobs to China and Mexico and WITHOUT ending the never-ending wars so there’s absolutely no need for them now.
If the Democrats lose again, they can blame Russia or fraudulent postal votes – better still, blame Russian postal workers and kill 2 birds with one stone.

Thanks Mags, You’re right. You would think that before voting for someone you’d be focused on their policies and how they will improve your life BUT THEY DON’T.
How can that be possible? I’m gobsmacked!!! I literally cannot believe people can be THAT brainwashed but then again, I’ve never owned a TV. I don’t listen to political propaganda, PR stunts, gaslighting media, ‘hope and change’ sales pitches and other manipulative motivational garbage from either side.
I just look at their record and look at who funds them and that tells you who they are working for.
Obama/Biden’s biggest donors in 2008 were from Wall Street: Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Morgan Stanley etc.
When he took office,he did what he was expected to do: fill his cabinet with Wall Street hacks
He then stood down Occupy Wall Street Protest – perhaps the only real protest since 1776 where the people were facing their real masters.
He went on to bail out the banks with trillions of dollars the tax payer will be paying back for ever and let the banks kick out 5.1 million families out on the streets
When the the money he gave the banks was used to buy up smaller banks (making the ‘too big to fail’ banks, even bigger) and paid themselves bonuses, he did nothing.
Then to put the cherry on the top, he made Bush’s tax cuts for the wealthy, permanent. And that’s just his financial record.
But what about the protests/riots the media is saying is all Trumps fault? Look at the hateful world Trump has caused…
Well, the current wave of BLM/Antifa riots started under Obama and Biden. After the deaths of two black men in 2014 there were riots in Ferguson and Oakland. In 2015 there were riots in Baltimore and the left-wing admin brought out the National Guard for the first time since 1968. In 2016, the National Guard were called out to quash a BLM/Antifa groups riot in Charlottesville.
But… but… what about Trumps racism towards Latinos?
Do you remember that Obama/Biden were the first ones to deport countless thousands of Mexicans and South Americans? They actually rounded up and deported more people than Trump. Do you remember that Obama/Biden were the ones who first separated children from their parents and put them in cages? (Recent photos of children in cages the media used to attack the cruel, racist Trump, were actually photos from Obama/Biden era. Talk about own goal. Apparently it’s not racist when the left do it, only when the right do it. Mmmm…
There are tons of egregious things Obama and Biden did from their foreign policy (Mr Peace Prize went from 2 wars to 6 wars, backed fascist coups in Ukraine and Honduras) to the usurpation of American law (instigated total surveillance state, jailed more whistleblowers than anyone else and removed Habeas Corpus) but my point is that the left need to put down the kool aide, turn off the TV and do their own research.
America (like other western countries) is being deconstructed, crippled and ransacked because the elite want to collapse the world and make it so bad, the people themselves will beg for martial law and accept any rules just to have some semblance of ‘normal’.
This is not a fight between the left and the right as they want you to believe. They don’t believe in left or right, capitalism or communism. Those categories are for the little people. This is about elite and the rest of the world; it’s about the rulers and the ruled.
So my suggestion? Stop behaving like 16 year old kids watching a reality TV show because in the next few years, as you get rapidly get poorer and more desperate, you’ll have nobody to blame but yourselves. You fell for their distractions (3 years of the Russiagate conspiracy theory for instance) and they continued to work for their donors. 3 years were completely wasted and they keep on bringing up more and more distractions just to avoid having to answer questions about their lack of policies and why they can’t fund stuff for ordinary people but can find money for banks and the military.
The left is almost certainly going to lose the 2020 election because they’re not offering any thing to those who need it, ONCE AGAIN. Who are they going to blame this time?

This is an uninformed post. The elites want you to think there is a left/right dichotomy. That’s their best distraction from the fact that American votes have been hacked by its own government and haven’t counted in over 30 years.
That is my point. The elites want you to think there’s a real left and right but they’ve been usurped a long, long time ago. Today, they’re just two wings of the same bird – a vulture – which why nothing substantially changes in favour of the little people (see my post above on some of the things Obama did for his donors)
When Biden was talking to his wealthy donors recently he said that if he’s elected, “nothing would fundamentally change”. That says it all.
So if you’re going to vote, then the least you can do is find a real alternate party and by doing so, let the establishment know that they have to earn your vote. Of course they will say third party votes will get Trump elected again but that’s just blaming the voters not themselves. If they don’t offer you anything but ‘no Trump’ policy then they need to suffer the consequences. Besides was it really better under Obama/Biden than Trump? Obama had the financial crash and riots; Trump has Covid-1984 and riots and in both cases, the rich got richer and the poor got poorer. Follow the money…
Anyway, believe it or not, I’m not much into politics as a means for solving our problems. I tend to be more in alignment with Krishnamurti who, during the 60’s upheaval, said (and I’m paraphrasing): “It is not a economic, social or political crisis the west is facing. It is a crisis of Consciousness”. But that’s another thread…
