:text-happynewyear:

Giordano Bruno wrote on the Infinite Universe and Worlds. He was born in Italy in 1548, and died 17 February 1600. He was a Pantheist that saw the stars as innumerable suns way ahead of his time, and that we revolve around the sun. When Zidane headbutted Marco Materazzi in the 2006 World Cup Finals, that was opening the way for the Type 10 Kardashev Civilizations Macroverse. When Gianluigi Buffon saved Zidane’s header, that was in tribute to Giordano Bruno. Andrea Pirlo represented Marius Florin, author of My Galactic Super Civilizations RaptorWizard articles, Leonardo da Vinci, and Kwai Leonard. Pirlo was a deep thinker, very original, and the 1 player higher than Zidane in some ways. When Germany won in 2014 with a 7-1 game, that was Lugia’s height at 17’1, and it looks like My Bunny’s ears, 11. Then Mario Gotze represents both Me as the Ubermensch Ash Pikachu wearing a Mario Red hat, and Marius Florin. But I even beat Marius Florin in 2002 when He was represented by a Red Joachim Low Latias Eldes from Pokemon XD Gale of Darkness in Rudi Voller, a Ruby Red Love or Low Lugia Latias. I was Luiz Felipe Scolari, Lewis Carrol, and a 79th minute goal could be Slowpoke Well, or the Rabbit Hole.

RevanFailNhilusOwn from Youtube also won in 2002, since a 67th minute goal is Machoke, the superman choking neck super-nexus, linking everything together atop the mountaintop forge in heaven from infinities to eternities where destiny won all. The Super-Nexus is Revan’s Star Forge. It’s also the Pokemon World as the Prime Super-Nexus world, because poke in Slowpoke is Pokemon.

“Unless you make yourself equal to God, you cannot understand God: for the like is not intelligible save to the like. Make yourself grow to a greatness beyond measure, by a bound free yourself from the body; raise yourself above all time, become Eternity; then you will understand God. Believe that nothing is impossible for you, think yourself immortal and capable of understanding all, all arts, all sciences, the nature of every living being. Mount higher than the highest height; descend lower than the lowest depth. Draw into yourself all sensations of everything created, fire and water, dry and moist, imagining that you are everywhere, on earth, in the sea, in the sky, that you are not yet born, in the maternal womb, adolescent, old, dead, beyond death. If you embrace in your thought all things at once, times, places, substances, qualities, quantities, you may understand God.”
― Giordano Bruno

The Acentric Labyrinth: Giordano Bruno’s Prelude to Contemporary Cosmology

I The infinite universe:

1 The universe is infinite.
2 It is infinite because it has no borders or limits, neither does it have a surface, and hence neither circumference nor figure.
3 The universe has no center.
4 Space is an homogeneous and infinite continuum.
5 The ether is identical with the void or absolute space. Thus, so understood, the void is not impossible. There is interplanetary and interstellar space (or void). The universe is not solid. The heavenly bodies are not in a vacuum, but in this medium called ether; this is their only universal ‘place’. There are no absolute voids or perfect vacuums in the universe, nor outside of it.
6 The universe is one single whole.
7 The infinite universe does not need an external motor to move it. In itself it is immovable, since there is nothing else it can move towards or go away from; however, everything in it is in constant motion.
8 From the infinite universe new abundance of matter is always born.
9 The universe is homogeneous and isotropic; there is no hierarchy in cosmic matter resulting from its relative distance from the human observer on Earth; the universe looks the same from wherever in the universe an observer may look at it. All heavenly bodies are made of the same elements and have similar composition, consistency, and structure. Neither the sun nor the Earth have any cosmological privileges over other heavenly bodies in the infinite universe. There is no essential difference between the sublunar the supralunar world.
10 Motion is universal. All heavenly bodies are endowed with several kinds of movement, and none of them is perfectly regular.
11 The universe had no beginning in time; it will have no end either; it is eternal.
12 There is no absolute time. In the universe, the number of times correspond to the number of celestial bodies.
13 The material universe consists of space, ether, atoms, and light.
14 Light is not made up of atoms.

II The innumerable worlds:

15 There are innumerable, indeed infinite, suns and planets in the universe.
16 These innumerable suns and planets are in themselves finite.
17 Heavenly bodies move freely in space. The celestial vault or firmament – the ultimate sphere of fixed stars equidistant from the Earth – is an illusion. All heavenly bodies have in themselves their own immanent principle of movement (soul); they are automotive and animated; they do not need to be pushed or pulled by other bodies; their source of movement is internal vigor, not external impulse (mechanical push or pull).
18 The Sun is a star and the stars are suns. They are not made up exclusively of fire, but of the same elements that make up the Earth as well as all other celestial bodies.
19 The Sun, like all heavenly bodies, moves; it revolves around its center.
20 Besides the visible planets, there may be other invisible ones rotating around the Sun which we cannot see because of their distance or size.
21 There are probably other planetary orbits around other suns besides our own solar ones.
22 The farther the planets are from the Sun, the longer are their orbits, and the longer their orbits, the slower they move around the Sun.
23 The Earth is a planet not unlike many others in the universe. It moves freely in space, and is not a perfect sphere.
24 There are probably living beings in other worlds.

III The soul of the universe:

25 The universe is one because it has one single immanent principle that holds all its parts together, just as the human soul is the one single principle that holds together and interrelates all parts of the body. It is the soul of the universe.
26 The soul of the universe must be conceived as the principle and substance of the universe, although its true nature is extremely difficult to grasp.
27 The universal soul is found in everything, and there is no corpuscle, however tiny, that is not animated by it.
28 The universal soul is able to produce all from all.

IV The universal intellect:

29 There is order in the universe; this order is not the result of chance, as the atomists would have it, but rather the effect of an efficient cause, the universal intellect. The universal intellect is the only single immanent principle of organized complexity in the universe: Mind, God, Being, the One, Truth, Fate, Reason, Order.
30 The agent that governs, orders, and directs everything in the universe is the intellect of the soul of the universe; the intellect is not only the formal cause and principle of the universe, but its efficient cause as well.
31 The efficient cause of the universe, the universal intellect, must also be conceived as the final cause of the universe, for it may be conceived as having an infinite (not transcendentally pre-established) purpose, namely that all possible forms of matter it contains can be actualized, for it must become everything that it can possibly become. It so strives to achieve perfection through a full ‘explication’ or unfolding.
32 The universe is not complete and perfect; the infinite universe is open and therefore can never reach perfect completion.

V Matter and form:

33 Matter and form, the passive and the active metaphysical principles of all physical reality, are inseparable, infinite, eternal, and indestructible.
34 Matter is divine and animated from within by the equally divine formal principle.
35 All the individual forms existing in the universe are not received by matter from outside, but all proceed from the infinitely fecund bosom of matter animated by one single form, which is the soul of the universe.
36 The One (universal intellect or a cosmic mind) effects an infinity of forms out of uncreated matter throughout eternity. There was never a single act of creation that produced, out of nothing, a complete and perfect universe of immutable forms.
37 All the infinite different forms in the universe are subject to constant transformations. All forms on Earth are incessantly changing into other forms, and all bodies in the universe are equally transmutable and susceptible to incessant changes.
38 In the universe, only space and ether are continua; the rest are either discrete, perfectly solid, indivisible atoms, or the bodies of such atoms. The atoms are the most elementary particles of matter.
39 Matter comprehends a lot more than atoms; it includes ether and light as well.
40 Atoms are automotive and animated, that is, they have in themselves the principles of movement (they have ‘souls’). Their movements produce infinite combinations which settle down to innumerable forms.

Thou art my delight and the warmth of my heart; [24]
Thou makest me without fear of Fate or of Death;
Thou breakest the chains and bars
Whence few come forth free.
Seasons, years, months, days and hours –
The children and weapons of Time – and that Court
Where neither steel nor treasure [25] avail
Have secured me from the fury [of the foe].
Henceforth I spread confident wings to space;
I fear no barrier of crystal or of glass;
I cleave the heavens and soar to the infinite.
And while I rise from my own globe to others
And penetrate ever further through the eternal field,
That which others saw from afar, I leave far behind me. [26]
~ Giordano Bruno

Unless you make yourself equal to God, you cannot understand God: for the like is not intelligible save to the like.

Beautiful, extraordinary and offers insight into the emerging correspondence between the latent and the patent striving for synthetic unity on a singular, elemental level.

Very much moved by it. Thank You for posting this!

I wonder how near we are to the era of the impending singularity when it headbutts into the quality of quantum mechanical reality?

Sith’ari

“One who has freed themselves from all restrictions has reached perfection, their potential fulfilled. Perfect strength, perfect power, perfect destiny. Imagine it.”
―Yuthura Ban

Sith’ari was a title that, in the ancient Sith, meant “Lord” or “Overlord,” first claimed by King Adas. After Adas’s death, the term became the subject of a legend prophesying the coming of a being that would lead and destroy the Sith, but in doing so would make the Sith more powerful than ever before. In this context, the term came to mean “perfect being” or “god.”[1] The prophecy, which was in many ways similar to the Jedi prophecy of the Chosen One,[1] retained its significance for the Dark Lords[2] up until the time of the Order of the Sith.

The old Trainer is highly enthusiastic about Pokémon legends and myths, two of his favorites being Ho-Oh and Celebi. He’s also known for having seen a Ho-Oh at least twice in his lifetime. Eagun has trouble with gadgets, especially new technology. He’s only just learned to type in his old age. This in particular caused him and others some needless complications. Namely, when trying to inform Wes that he was to give him a Master Ball, he accidentally sent an incomplete message to Wes, causing him and Rui to think he was in serious trouble.

Whiscash and Ash

The kids have stopped at a lakeside camp site on their way to Fortree City. Ash trips and drops his badge case into the lake, where it is eaten up by a giant Whiscash. Ash dives in after the Pokémon but gets caught in some reeds instead.

Ash is pulled out of the water by a fisherman named Sullivan, who calls himself “Legend.” He tells them that he has been trying to catch the giant Whiscash for years and its name is Nero. The kids decide to help “Legend” catch Nero.

“Legend” shows them how to fish, but all of them are unsuccessful. On the other side of the lake Team Rocket is also fishing, but not having much luck.

Eventually Ash snags Nero and manages to pull the giant Whiscash out of the water. Before he can get his badges back, Team Rocket scoops Nero up in a net and flies away in their balloon. Ash’s Grovyle uses Bullet Seed to send the balloon crashing down, and a battle begins. Whiscash uses Earthquake on Team Rocket, and then Pikachu sends them blasting off with Thunder.

“Legend” tries to catch Nero using his own Pokémon, but eventually he just pulls out a Master Ball and throws it—which Nero gobbles up, and then swims away.

While resting by a lake, Ash decides to polish his Badge Case and remembers all the Gym Battles he’s so far had in Hoenn, when suddenly a larger than normal Whiscash, a Water/Ground Pokémon, jumps out of the water and eats the case. Ash calls out Corphish, which is promptly defeated by the giant Whiscash. Determined to get his hard-earned Badges back, Ash dives in but nearly drowns when he is saved by a self-proclaimed fishing god, Sullivan. Sullivan has spent years trying to catch the giant Whiscash and regards himself as a fishing legend and god, even though he, in fifty years, has never actually caught the Whiscash, who he has nicknamed Nero. Max accidentally insults Sullivan by asking why he hasn’t caught Whiscash yet, but Ash and his friends restore Sullivan’s spirits by calling him a legend.

Determined to retrieve the Badges, Ash and the others start fishing, with Sullivan offering them various fishing rods and lures. Meanwhile, Team Rocket are also trying to get a hold of the same Whiscash (figuring if they capture it, they will get both a new Pokémon and a bunch of Badges). While Team Rocket actually spots the elusive Whiscash, Ash, Sullivan and company start fishing. While Ash and the others are not successful at catching anything, Sullivan gets a nibble from a Pokémon every few seconds, but none are Whiscash, so he tosses them all back. Ash asks Sullivan to teach them the secret to fishing, and Sullivan begins to teach them the “art of angling”. Max again accidentally insults Sullivan by telling him his first lesson—fish where there are water Pokémon, is obvious, but everyone again calls Sullivan a legend to cheer him up. When Sullivan shows them how to cast the line properly, Max casts perfectly on the first try, again insulting Sullivan, who has spent decades perfecting his technique. Max gets a nibble from this cast—and a Whiscash, though not Nero, surfaces. However, Nero does appear right next to the hooked Pokémon, and taunts Ash by showing him the Badge case before disappearing.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket is fishing using James’ bottle cap collection as lures. Things take a turn for the crazier when a hooked Feebas bites onto Jessie’s hair, which Jessie flicks off. This gives Meowth an idea, because in the next scene he’s suggested Team Rocket fish using Jessie’s hair as a rod and lure! Another Feebas bites onto Jessie’s hair yet again. Meanwhile, Sullivan proclaims he can sense Nero nearby and casts his line—but hooks only a Magikarp. However, Ash does manage to hook Nero, who takes the would-be anglers and their small boat on a ride towards a pile of rocks! Ash calls out Corphish and orders it to use Crabhammer on him—which sends Ash flying onto the rocks and putting the boat out of danger. The momentum allows Ash to pull Nero out of the water. Ash calls out Grovyle, and attacks Nero, but the giant Pokémon simply laughs at Ash. However, it’s Team Rocket that seem to have the last laugh—they net Nero the Whiscash from the middle of the battle. Team Rocket quickly escaped using their enhanced balloon. Brock calls out Mudkip and Lombre and orders both to use Water Gun, and Ash orders Grovyle to use Bullet Seed. Team Rocket is unable to outrun the attacks due to Nero’s enormous weight, and the Bullet Seed brings down the balloon. Team Rocket call out their Pokémon for a battle (which Ash combats with Pikachu and Grovyle). Whiscash escapes from its net and uses Earthquake, and Pikachu sends Team Rocket blasting off with Thunder. The smoke from the blast-off causes Whiscash to cough, bringing up Ash’s Badge case and Badges.

Sullivan then challenges Nero to a battle, sending out Hannah, his Flaaffy. Using Flaaffy’s Dynamic Punch and Iron Tail while dodging Nero’s attacks, Sullivan weakens Nero, then orders Hannah to use ThunderShock. Unfortunately, Whiscash are part Ground-type, and the attack has no effect. Sullivan then proclaims that he has a plan to capture Nero, and draws a Master Ball out of his cloak (which Ash and friends recognize with a gasp), a rare and powerful Poké Ball capable of capturing any Pokémon! Sullivan declares that it has taken 50 years just to get a Master Ball, and he throws the powerful ball, which Nero eats. Everyone gasps, and Sullivan yells at Nero exasperatedly (a Master Ball did just fail, after all). Nero jumps back into the water, and Sullivan declares that “Tomorrow’s another day!” Ash and company cheer up Sullivan by calling him a legend again, before Ash and company bid Sullivan a cheery farewell. Meanwhile, Nero apparently didn’t actually eat the Master Ball but swallowed it instead, and is shown to be happily balancing its new toy on the tip of its tongue.

A Promise is a Promise

Ash and friends do their best to free the captured Lugia from Team Rocket, but are eventually overwhelmed by a new technology that emotionally manipulates Pokemon, amplifying their rage and enhancing the power of their attacks. This heightened power enables Butch and Cassidy to not only capture the parent Lugia, but to take captive Ash and friends as well. A Team Rocket researcher insists that true power lies in fury, but Ash hopes to prove that trust between man and Pokemon holds the key to a greater power still, and to free himself and his friends in the process.

Dr. Namba, Butch and Cassidy gaze at their captured parent Lugia, and so they whisk the child off to another room. Ash and Ritchie are determined to fulfill their promise to Lugia, but with their Poké Balls separated from them the situation looks dire. The lights suddenly come on and Dr.Namba greets his captives. He declares that Pokémon are designed to serve humanity, but Ash and the others refute these claims. Dr. Namba brags about his headband devices used by Butch and Cassidy earlier, the “Namba’s Nasty Pokémon Provoker”, which harnesses the power of rage to make a Pokémon more powerful. He plans to do the same to Lugia, but he decides to demonstrate the technology on Sparky and Pikachu first.

Later, Oliver leaves Luka and the safety of the boat to rescue Ash and the others. He and Lanturn locate Team Rocket’s underwater base and Oliver slips inside through an opening. Meanwhile the Team Rocket trio gain access into the security room, and are pleasantly surprised to that Ash and his friends have been captured. Jessie orders her teammates about. Soon Oliver emerges from the ventilation system, but he is immediately spring by a Team Rocket Grunt. Jessie and James notice the scene and spot an opportunity. They take over, but Oliver continues to struggle to free himself. Jessie whispers into Oliver’s ear, and they enlist his help with their own scheme. Oliver asks who are they, and Jessie and James simply refer to themselves as “superheroes”.

Dr. Namba’s test on Pikachu and Sparky begins. The group distracts Namba with their pleas. Oliver breaks in through a ventilation shaft and punches in the lock code, opening the door from the cage. Ash tackles Dr. Namba into a wall. He then breaks the mechanism before the power headbands can be placed on the Pikachu, and smashes the claw directly into the control console. Brock and Misty also gather everyone’s Poké Balls. Ash and the others thank Oliver, and he reveals that he received help from some “superheroes”. Dr. Namba presses an alert button, and as the group tries to leave the facility they find themselves surrounded by Team Rocket Grunts. Butch and Cassidy call on their Pokémon with the power headbands on them. Houndour starts off with a Flamethrower and Hitmontop uses Rolling Kick, but Pikachu and Sparky easily dodge both attacks. Ash and Ritchie have a plan though, they have their Pokémon aim their Thunderbolts at the gadgets. The Thunderbolts destroy the headbands as planned. With the Pokémon powerless, both Pikachu do a head on Tackle and knock them out. The battle is cut short when Dr. Namba alerts his Butch and Cassidy to some activity in Lugia’s area. Totodile and Cruise make quick work of the remaining Rocket Grunts.

Butch and Cassidy arrive and are disturbed to see their rivals, Jessie and James, working to free the Lugia. The two Rocket teams get into a heated battle. Jessie and James send out Arbok and Victreebel respectively. Cassidy’s Houndour misses one Flamethrower, hitting a support for the energy barrier that is keeping Lugia trapped. Butch’s Hitmontop tries a Rapid Spin, but is disrupted by Victreebel’s Vine Whip, hitting the support again. Another break occurs when Arbok is slammed into the support. Jessie calls on her Wobbuffet and he Counters another of Houndour’s Flamethrower attacks. The result is cataclysmic and the parent Lugia is subsequently freed. With that, the parent Lugia goes berserk on the base, firing a beam at random locations. One blast hits the Rockets, blowing them all into the sky. The beam also causes a breach of the base’s protective walls, which causes the base to rise to the surface.

Ash and his friends soon reach Silver, but Dr. Namba is standing in their way. He sends out an Electabuzz with the provoker headband device. Ash and Ritchie send out their Pikachu to do the job. Electabuzz goes for a Thunder Punch, leaving a crater in the floor, but the Pikachu manage to dodge the attack. They retaliate with a Thunderbolt but Electabuzz uses Light Screen and the bolts simply bounce off. Electabuzz unleashes a more powerful Thunderbolt, hitting both Pikachu easily. Namba continues to dial up the rage level of his Electabuzz, making Pikachu and Sparky’s attempts useless. Ritchie suggests they aim for the controller in Dr. Namba’s hands, and Ash agrees to the idea. Pikachu acts a distraction, and while Dr. Namba focuses on the battle, Sparky delivers a direct shock and breaks the controller. The Electabuzz snaps out of its rage, and the two Pikachu perform a double Thunder attack to then knock it out. Afterwards, the group works on opening the Silver’s cage. Cyndaquil and Zippo use Flamethrower to heat up the metal cage. Poliwhirl and Totodile follow up with a Water Gun attack to cool it down. The sudden changes in temperature causes the metal to become brittle. Cruise bashes its way through the bars to free Silver. Oliver is glad to see his friend again, and the pair exchange a hug.

The parent Lugia continues to Aeroblast its way through Team Rocket’s base, causing incredible damage. Ash and his friends wheel Silver through the hallways and stop when they spot its parent. Ash attempts to reason with Lugia, but it is too berserk to listen. Silver calls out to its parent, and this instantly calms Lugia down. Misty looks above her and notices debris is about to hit everyone. They shield themselves in anticipation, but Lugia protects them from harm with its Safeguard. The group realizes Lugia now trusts them and they thank it. Soon they start to make their way out of the base and dive for the ocean. The base finally explodes, but the mighty ocean drags the debris down to the seafloor. Namba and several grunts are later seen floating on some debris.

By evening, everyone is back on Luka’s boat. The two Lugia prepare to leave and soon swim out into the ocean depths. Oliver tears up as he watches his friend leave. Misty offers Oliver some comfort, and Oliver accepts that Silver may visit again sometime. The Lugia call out to Ash and the others and receive a wave goodbye in return. The next day, Ritchie decides to explore the Whirl Islands further and promises to battle Ash the next time they meet. Oliver remains on Ogi Isle as well, while Luka escorts Ash and his friends to Transit Town.

Greevil: Eldes!
Eldes: Sir!
Greevil: Who allowed this child to penetrate our defenses so deeply?!
Greevil: What is the meaning of this?!
Greevil: The others can’t be counted on at all.
Greevil: I am giving you the responsibility of dealing with this child.
Eldes: You’ve finally managed to anger Master Greevil.
Eldes: I thought I would end up battling you one day…
Eldes: But this isn’t how I had hoped to face you.
Eldes: If we battle, it will only be unfulfilling and without meaning.
Eldes: Will you challenge me knowing that?
Michael: Yes
Eldes: Fine. I understand. But once we begin, expect no mercy. That is my philosophy.

The Masked Man responds by morphing into a more mutated version of himself, and jumps onto Ho-Oh, commanding it to trap Gold and Crystal with a ring of fire. He then proceeds to grab both Kurt and his granddaughter Maizie from the evacuating crowd.
The Last Battle I

Snow Way Out!

Continuing their journey, Ash and gang find themselves at a fork in the road. They make the fateful decision to climb a steep and dangerous mountain taking them even deeper into the woods. Pikachu gets lost and they must all work together to find him, stay warm and weather the storm.

Continuing on their journey, Ash and his friends come to a fork in the road. Brock takes a moment to check his map, though Ash’s impulsiveness leads them to take the trail to the right leading into a huge mountain. As they notice their snowy surrounds, Misty and Brock both want to turn around and go the other way, but Ash declares a Pokémon Master always stays on course, no matter what the conditions. However things get worse, as the mountain they have stumbled upon is actually a part of a huge mountain range and Brock’s compass goes haywire from electromagnetic interference. As Brock declares that they are lost, Misty shouts at Ash to get them off the mountain. Ash calls out his Pidgeotto to find another route, and it soon returns with news of a good path up ahead.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are trailing the twerps. While James and Meowth complain they are both freezing, Jessie declares that she loves the snow as it brings back memories of eating “snowgasboard”; a meal completely made of snow. She says that it was one of the few memories of her wretched and poverty-stricken childhood. However, James and Meowth are grossed out. James then says that they can head off Ash and his friends using the Meowth balloon. They then recite their motto, but stop when they notice their balloon drifting off in the wind. They chase after it without any luck, losing all of their food and supplies are on that balloon. Jessie starts to look at the snow and then tells them she can make snow rolls. James and Meowth don’t want them, and Jessie wants to walk further to where the balloon is so she can get some soy sauce.

The light snowfall has now turned into a full-on blizzard, so the group contemplate setting up camp. As Ash insists they continue walking, Brock reminds him that the sun is going to set soon, and not even the bravest Pokémon Trainer would wander around in a snowstorm in the dark. Ash agrees, and as Brock says they should start to dig a cave, the snowstorm starts to intensify. The strong wind knocks Ash down, and he lets go of Pikachu, who is carried off into the distance by the gusty conditions. Ash chases after Pikachu, while Misty and Brock hunker down as the storm starts to intensify even more.

In spite of the awful conditions, Ash trudges through deep snow while repeatedly calling for Pikachu until he collapses from exhaustion. Then he hears something: Pikachu’s voice. Ash calls back to Pikachu, Pikachu responds, and Ash follows the direction of Pikachu’s voice. As he walks, he falls down a small cliff. He then hears Pikachu’s voice close by. He then sees the small yellow Pokémon and he is hanging by one arm from a ledge on a very high cliff. Ash tries to grab Pikachu, but he falls down the cliff, yet manages to grab onto another ledge. Ash quickly comes up with a solution, and sends out Bulbasaur who uses Vine Whip to grab Pikachu. But Pikachu cannot hold on and he slips further down. Bulbasaur acts fast and grabs Pikachu with its vines just in time. They pull Pikachu up to their level before Pikachu and Ash embrace. Pikachu does a facial expression of Brock and in doing so, he reminds Ash that they need to get up the small cliff Ash fell down before and get back to Misty and Brock. He tries climbing up the cliff, but to no avail. He tries calling their names, but this doesn’t work either.

Ash decides to dig a snow cave rather than brave the bitter cold. After his hands begin to suffer frostbite, he has his Charmander use Flamethrower to blast through the snow. It does a good job of building the cave and then, Ash sends out Bulbasaur and Squirtle to help seal the cave off from the elements. It takes them a while, but they do it. Ash then tries to figure out how to heat up the cave. Bulbasaur suggests to Charmander to make its tail flame more intense, and it does so.

Meanwhile, Team Rocket are huddled inside an igloo. Suddenly Meowth’s last candle goes out, and Jessie’s offer of snow rolls doesn’t lift anyone’s spirits. Meowth reveals that he has three matches left, but without anything to light them with, the Rocket trio try using their imaginations to get warmth. Jessie then notices her teammates fast asleep, but she slaps them around to stop them from freezing.

As the brutal snowstorm rages on, Charmander’s tail flame starts to weaken from trying to keep everyone warm. Ash tells Charmander to get back into its Poké Ball, but it refuses, but Ash calls it back anyway, much to Charmander’s shock. Ash then figures that the Pokémon should be warm inside their Poké Balls. So, he tells Bulbasaur and Squirtle back into their Poké Balls, and like Charmander, they refuse too. Ash calls them back anyway, much to their surprise. Ash then attempts to call Pikachu back into his Poké Ball, but Pikachu refuses, and he clings onto Ash. Ash is touched by Pikachu’s gesture of trying to keep his Trainer warm and he accepts his decision.

As the time passes, Ash and Pikachu are freezing cold. Ash wonders if his other Pokémon are warm enough inside their Poké Balls, so he takes off his jacket and wraps his Poké Balls inside. But now, the snowstorm has gotten so bad that a part of the snow wall has broken through. Ash runs over to the hole and sits in front of it, blocking the snow coming in. Ash again orders Pikachu to get inside his Poké Ball. Though Pikachu adamantly refuses, worrying for Ash’s safety and Ash assures Pikachu he will be okay, as long as he knows Pikachu will be safe. Finally, Ash orders Pikachu to get inside the Poké Ball. Pikachu refuses once more. Then, the rest of Ash’s Pokémon- Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Pidgeotto- all free themselves from their Poké Balls and hold on to Ash. Ash is so taken aback by his Pokémon’s commitment to him that he is reduced to tears. He then looks at them and conceded that they will be cold all together.

It is now morning and the harsh snowstorm has completely subsided. Charmander demolishes the snow wall with Flamethrower, and Ash looks upon the amazing view with his beloved Pokémon. He hears a voice calling him, he turns around, and it is pleasantly surprised to see Misty, Brock and his Onix. Onix lifts Ash and his Pokémon up to his friends’ level. They ask Ash how he survived the storm and he tells them about the cave he dug. Brock and Misty then reveal that Onix dug into an underground hot spring, and they were very comfortable there, much to Ash’s extreme surprise. They then discover that the blizzard blew over Team Rocket’s balloon, which is right next to them. Brock says it is out of fuel, but he sends out his Vulpix, and has it use Flamethrower, and the balloon is now flyable. They then fly off over the mountain range.

Team Rocket stop pinching each other’s cheeks when they spot the twerps in their balloon. They chase after them, only to fall into a hot spring and are declined to move, as they are very comfortable. Ash thinks he heard Team Rocket while the balloon files above them, and then, they see a town ahead and are overjoyed. Meanwhile, Team Rocket discover that the hot spring is too hot for them to sit in, but are forced to stay in the heated waters as the weather is too cold for them to get out.

Disturb not the harmony of fire, ice or lightning, lest these titans wreak destruction upon the world in which they clash. Though the water’s great guardian shall arise to quell the fighting, alone its song will fail, lest the earth shall turn to ash. O Chosen One, into thine hands bring together all three. Their treasures combined tame the Beast of the Sea.

–Shamouti Prophecy

Wired for Battle!

When the most promising trainee at a Pokémon dojo abandons battle altogether, opting to gather information for his comprehensive Poké-database instead, it’s up to Ash and friends to convince him that battling, and life for that matter, is more than just a matter of probability.

As Team Rocket is discussing their plan to steal Pikachu, they are interrupted by a man who asks them if they are looking for a battle. They accept but are defeated easily. Later, Ash and his friends are confronted by the same man and his Scizor. When Misty is infuriated at him for letting his Pokémon run loose and attack at will, the man explains that they were trying to do some secret training. He apologizes and introduces himself to Ash as Muramasa. He then introduces Scizor, who he calls Masamune. Muramasa admits that he is impressed by Ash and his Pikachu before inviting the group over to his elite training school.

As they tour around Muramasa’s training school, Ash and his friends learn from a student that Muramasa is a talented Trainer and his Scizor is also known as “The Crimson Streak” because of its incredible speed and strength. Ash comments that “The Crimson Streak” is a cool nickname when another Trainer makes an abrupt entrance. Muramasa introduces his top student Shingo, and at his request, Ash challenges Shingo. However, Shingo sits down, opens a laptop, and begins scrolling through a database entry for Ash. He explains that it contains everything he ever needs to know about any Trainer. When an eavesdropping Team Rocket hears this, they decide to steal the laptop.

Shingo finds Ash’s entry and comments that he was lucky to get into the top 16 of the Indigo Plateau Conference. Ash argues that he is much better in skill now and insists on having a battle to prove himself. Shingo refuses, reasoning that Ash would lose according to his data. Despite Ash’s continued insistence, Shingo tells Muramasa to find an opponent that can teach him something he doesn’t already know, and leaves. Muramasa later tells Ash and his friends that Shingo hasn’t battled in over a year because he believes he can predict any battle outcome with his laptop. He then shares his concern that Shingo has lost his way. Since Shingo needs a battle that would show him that there is more to Pokémon than just facts and figures, Ash declares that he will battle Shingo.

Later, Ash drags Shingo away from his laptop, allowing Team Rocket to move in. Meowth plugs a cable into Shingo’s laptop so that James can begin downloading the data. However, Jessie grabs the cable and tries to pull in the whole laptop. Just then, they are confronted by Masamune, prompting them to send out their Pokémon. As Shingo grabs his laptop, Team Rocket performs their motto. Shingo promptly looks the trio on his database and finds that they are not listed. When Team Rocket insults the database, an infuriated Shingo releases his own Scizor, “Blade”, which has never been defeated in battle. Shingo sits down with his laptop, with its webcam focused on Team Rocket and their Pokémon so he can record the match. After analyzing Team Rocket’s Pokémon as they approach, Shingo has Blade use Quick Attack, which defeats all of Team Rocket’s Pokémon in one move and sends them blasting off. When Ash explains to Shingo that there is more to battling than just winning, Shingo agrees to battle him.

Muramasa takes his position as referee, and declares that the match will be a one-on-one battle. Shingo chooses Blade and Ash calls on his Heracross. Shingo starts with a Quick Attack and Ash tells Heracross to use Leer. Leer doesn’t have enough time to work and Heracross is hit. Heracross gets back up, but Shingo tells Blade to use Metal Claw. Blade picks up Heracross by the horn, and at Ash’s request, Heracross uses its weight to land safely on its feet. Heracross replies with a Horn Attack, which grazes Blade, much to Shingo’s surprise. While Shingo does some research, Heracross then uses Take Down, but Blade evades with Agility. Heracross soon finds itself surrounded by Blade and becomes confused. Ash tells Heracross to relax and let Blade approach. Shingo starts to panic as he cannot look at his laptop and the battlefield at the same time. At that moment, Ash tells Heracross to use Fury Attack. Heracross goes berserk, and Blade tries to use Metal Claw, but Heracross is too fast and knocks Blade down.

Blade stands up and Heracross uses Fury Attack again. Shingo promptly gets up and fully concentrates on the battle. He tells Blade to use Quick Attack, while Heracross uses Tackle; both Pokémon miss. Heracross dodges Blade’s Metal Claw again, and Blade becomes stuck on Heracross’s horn. Blade uses Agility to get away, and dives in for a False Swipe. Ash tells Heracross to stand its ground. While the powerful attack hits, it proves to be ineffective against Heracross’s hard shell. Heracross replies with a Horn Attack, which tosses Blade to the ground and gives Ash the victory. Shingo rushes to Blade’s side, and Muramasa is surprised to see that he has abandoned his laptop. Shingo assures Blade that it battled well. Ash thanks Shingo and they agree to battle again in the future.

The elixir of life, also known as elixir of immortality and sometimes equated with the name philosopher’s stone, is a potion that supposedly grants the drinker eternal life and/or eternal youth. This elixir was also said to cure all diseases. Alchemists in various ages and cultures sought the means of formulating the elixir. The concept originated in ancient India or China where the concept preceded that in Europe by millennia.

A Different Kind of Misty!

The foggy episode opens up with Team Rocket stealing a stone from a small boy near a lighthouse. Ash and his friends hear Team Rocket passing by in their balloon and Team Rocket, noticing them back, take the opportunity to try to capture Pikachu. They not only fail, but lose the stone when their balloon bursts.

After Team Rocket blasts off again, the boy from the lighthouse, joined by his sister, meet up with Ash and company. The sister calls Ash a thief and tries to start a battle with him. She makes her brother help with his Plusle and Minun combination. Team Rocket reappears and the sister finally understands who the real thieves are. Team Rocket is quickly taken care of and then the sister explains that the stone is the source of light for the lighthouse and that it is charged by Electric-type Pokémon.

Ash and the gang go back to the lighthouse to relax. When Ash puts on his vest, the siblings get very excited. They explain that Ash fits the description given in a prophecy and that he must be the one who is supposed to not only protect the stone from an attack, but also teach the stone’s protector how to fight. The boy is completely convinced that Ash is the chosen one.

Ash spends the rest of the day mentoring the boy until the fog starts rolling in and the lighthouse needs relighting. When they all reach the lighthouse to replace the stone, Team Rocket attempts to steal it and Pikachu using a Zapdos robot. They almost succeed before Ash and company catch up to them and send them blasting off again. The stone is recovered and replaced, and the boy truly believes that Ash is his mentor.

Ash and his friends attempt to navigate a foggy mountain road as they make their way to Mauville City, Brock suggests that it’s too dangerous to go on, and that they should rest a while. Ash confirms this, as he soon trips over a hidden root and finds himself in a puddle of mud. During their rest, they meet up with Team Rocket, who immediately declares that they’re going to capture Pikachu in order to make some sort of light stone that they stole work. James sends out his Cacnea and begins the assault with a Pin Missile, which is easily deflected by Pikachu’s sturdy Iron Tail and sent back at them. Meowth loses hold of the light stone and it falls next to Pikachu, who climbs on top of it, preparing to use a Thunderbolt. Ash issues the command and Pikachu responds, blowing up Team Rocket’s balloon and sending the three down into the water below. As Ash picks up the light stone, a voice calls out to him, naming him to be a thief. Alyssa, with her younger brother Thatcher in tow, challenges them to a battle for the stolen stone. She calls out her Magnemite, but it is quickly taken out by Pikachu’s Quick Attack. She then asks Thatcher for help, but he says that he’s never battled with his Pokémon before, so instead, he’ll lend his “support.” He calls upon a Plusle and a Minun, and together they use Helping Hand, revitalizing Magnemite. Alyssa orders her Magnemite to attack before demanding the light stone be returned. Ash soon realizes that the light stone belongs to the girl, but as he prepares to return it, Team Rocket suddenly reappears and Thatcher recognizes them as the real thieves. Wasting no time, Pikachu sends them away with a powerful Thunderbolt, and Ash returns the stone to its rightful owners.

The group heads for the lighthouse, and Alyssa explains that the light stone is the treasure of her village, and without it, she cannot operate the Mountain Lighthouse at all. She then shows the group how it works, using Plusle and Minun as an example; by using the power of Electric Pokémon, the stone shines brightly for all to see. As Ash puts on his jacket, Thatcher pipes up and declares that Ash is the “legendary hero.” Alyssa tells him to calm down, and explains that long ago, a legendary hero dressed in blue accompanied by an Electric Pokémon brought the light stone to their village, Misty Village. Ash assures Thatcher that he is no hero, but the young boy insists upon it. He brings everyone to his house and pleads with Ash to teach him how to battle, and Ash agrees. They move to a quiet spot in the woods to begin their training. Ash starts off by saying that getting to know one’s Pokémon and putting trust in them is one of the most important things to keep in mind. Before he is able to explain anymore, Alyssa exclaims that she must get back to the lighthouse because a heavy fog is beginning to roll in. Thatcher and the rest of the group decide to follow her.

Once they arrive, Team Rocket shows up once again, this time armed with a Zapdos robot. They slice the roof off of the lighthouse and swipe both the stone and Alyssa’s Magnemite. Pikachu attempts to stop them with a Thunderbolt, but the attack bounced off, having no effect on the villains. They quickly snatch up Pikachu, throw Magnemite back at Alyssa, and make their getaway. Even though the thick fog veils their escape, Ash calls out to Pikachu and tells him to use his Thunderbolt on the light stone, which he does. The light stone, charged with electrical power, shines brightly within the fog. Now, with a beacon to follow, the group heads after the thieves. Team Rocket are soon found and, in another attempt to escape, they take to the sky once more. Thatcher orders his Plusle and Minun to use Helping Hand on Pikachu, which recharges the Electric Mouse to full power. Pikachu grins and lets loose a devastating Thunder attack, overloading the machine and sending in spiraling to the ground. Thatcher doesn’t stop there, however; after another Helping Hand used on each other, Plusle and Minun rush the incapacitated machine using Spark, dealing with Team Rocket once and for all. With the light stone returned and Thatcher more confident in his Pokémon, the group bids them farewell and continues on their way towards Mauville City and Ash’s next Gym Badge.

The Chikorita Rescue

Ash encounters a wild Chikorita and engages it in battle, thinking to add it to his team, but as Team Rocket watches the battle from afar, they decide the Chikorita would be better suited to their own nefarious uses.

On their way to Violet City, Ash and his friends have decided to take a mountainous trail, though Brock complains about how cold it is. Just then, he notices a wild Chikorita. Remembering Casey and her Chikorita, Ash loudly proclaims his intent to catch the Chikorita, which surprisingly doesn’t scare it away. Ash promptly sends out Bulbasaur. Chikorita charges, but Bulbasaur counters with Vine Whip. Chikorita then uses Razor Leaf, but Bulbasaur shoots them down with its own Razor Leaf, then Tackles Chikorita. Ash throws his Poké Ball, but Chikorita simply swats it back, then catches Bulbasaur off-guard with a Vine Whip to the head.

Ash recalls Bulbasaur and sends out Charizard, though Chikorita remains steadfast. She charges at Charizard, who simply holds her off with its foot. Ash orders a Flamethrower, but Chikorita uses Vine Whip to trip Charizard, who inadvertently burns Ash. Chikorita then fires another Razor Leaf, but Charizard burns the leaves with Flamethrower, then flies in for a Tackle. Chikorita counters with another Vine Whip to the head, but this time, her vines get caught by Charizard’s arms, causing both Pokémon to crash into a nearby mountain. Everyone runs over, and Ash recalls Charizard. Chikorita struggles to stand and collapses again from exhaustion. The group decides to take her to the nearest Pokémon Center. Not far away, Team Rocket watches the fight, with Jessie left very impressed by how strong Chikorita was, and believing that they need that kind of toughness on Team Rocket. However, Meowth is offended by her reasoning to capture Chikorita.

Later, Ash and his friends are approaching the Pokémon Center when Chikorita awakens. Ash reassures her, but she bites his arm. Later, Nurse Joy announces that Chikorita will be fine after some rest. She then asks if Ash is okay, noticing the bite on his arm; Ash claims that he is alright. Nurse Joy goes on to explain that the Chikorita in the area are stubborn and relentless in battle, qualities that Ash admires. Suddenly, an ambulance pulls up in front of the Pokémon Center, and two paramedics rush in. They quickly take the Chikorita’s table into the ambulance, while Nurse Joy wonders who they are. They reveal themselves as Team Rocket and recite their motto, before James orders Weezing to use Smog, allowing them to escape. Ash then pursues Team Rocket.

Believing they had successfully stolen Chikorita, Team Rocket starts celebrating, but unbeknownst to them, Ash is riding on top of the ambulance. Back at the Pokémon Center, Misty realizes that Ash ran off so fast that he forgot all of his Poké Balls. Meanwhile, at a mountain cabin where Team Rocket is at, Ash and Pikachu also realize that the former forgot his Pokémon. Inside the cabin, Team Rocket tries recruiting Chikorita, but she is merely left confused. Jessie then holds up a standard Team Rocket contract, asking Chikorita to sign. James adds that if she can’t write, a footprint is just as legally binding.

Ash interrupts with his own rendition of the motto, infuriating Team Rocket. Ash and Pikachu then throw snowballs and try to escape with Chikorita, but Meowth triggers a trap that ensnares all of them. Ash ends up going over a hill, and Chikorita and Pikachu are pulled down with him. They end up rolling down the hill in a snowball, bouncing off trees during their descent. Eventually, they ramp off a hill and into a tree, which eventually breaks their restraints, sending them tumbling to the ground and getting buried by snow. Fortunately, the snow hides them from Team Rocket, who are in pursuit aboard a snow-ski.

Ash and Pikachu try to figure out the route back to the Pokémon Center when Chikorita suddenly runs off. Ash attempts to stop her, but ends up slipping and falling as Chikorita disappears. Realizing it was starting to snow, Ash and Pikachu make their way to a cave and sit around a small fire they started. Ash impulsively runs out in search of Chikorita and tells Pikachu to remain inside in case Misty and Brock come. Ash eventually falls down a tunnel, where he finds Chikorita freezing from the cold. Upon seeing Ash, Chikorita jumps into his arms. He then makes his way back to the cave and ends up bundling together with Pikachu to wait out the weather.

The next day, the snowstorm stops, and Ash, Pikachu, and Chikorita try make it back to the Pokémon Center. However, they are intercepted by Team Rocket, who is using a snowball-firing machine. Chikorita uses Razor Leaf on the snowballs the trio throws, then, under Ash’s orders, she Vine Whips the machine, causing it to go out of control. While Team Rocket is distracted, Ash orders a Thunderbolt from Pikachu, which causes the machine to explode, sending Team Rocket blasting off again. Ash, Pikachu, and Chikorita are then reunited with Brock, Misty, and Nurse Joy. The group returns to the Pokémon Center, and Ash and his friends prepare to hit the road again. However, Chikorita follows the group as they begin to depart and waves her scent in Ash’s face. Nurse Joy explains that she wants to come along, and Ash happily accepts his newest Pokémon.

A Stand-Up Sit-Down!

Dawn’s latest training session is interrupted by a Glameow and Misdreavus that seem to be asking for help, and it’s a safe bet that those Pokémon must belong to Zoey! Sure enough, the two Pokémon lead Dawn and her friends to Zoey, who’s fallen and sprained her foot. Our heroes treat the sprain the best they can and help Zoey back to her campsite, where everyone is introduced to Zoey’s new Shellos. That’s when Zoey tells Dawn that the upcoming Hearthome Contest has a double performance format, which means Dawn has to show off two Pokémon at once!

Fortunately, Zoey offers to help Dawn train. First, she shows Dawn some of the combinations she has planned for Glameow and Shellos. Then Dawn tries to develop some combinations of her own with Pachirisu and Piplup, but it’s even harder than she imagined. Things aren’t any smoother when she tries a double battle with Buizel and Buneary against Pikachu and Aipom, but all Dawn can do is practice until her team gets it right.

Jessie, now disguised as Jessilina the Coordinator, drops in for a surprise visit and challenges Dawn to a double battle. Zoey’s not about to let Jessilina pick on a double battle novice, so she accepts the challenge instead! Injured or not, Zoey still has all her skills intact—her Glameow and Shellos overcome Jessie’s Dustox and Seviper with power and style. Zoey’s example encourages Dawn to keep on trying, and the two Coordinators look forward to their next meeting at the Hearthome Contest!

Dawn is training in the woods with Piplup, when Zoey’s Glameow and Misdreavus find them while searching for help for their Trainer. Zoey sprained her ankle while training, and is forced off her feet while she recovers. Brock gives her some first aid, but she needs to get to a Pokémon Center for full healing. They head to her camp and Zoey shows off her new Shellos, caught exactly where Dawn caught her Buizel. When Ash and Pikachu try to introduce themselves to Shellos, it gets very scared. Dawn lets her Buizel out, and it starts to stare at Shellos, making it even more frightened. Then Piplup starts arguing with Buizel until Dawn breaks them apart.

Seeing how poorly Buizel and Piplup are getting along, Zoey decides to demonstrate to Dawn the theme of the upcoming Hearthome Contest, appeals involving two of the Coordinator’s Pokémon instead of one. Zoey gets her laptop and shows Dawn and her friends a video of Top Coordinator Marina delivering a Double Performance using her Wani-Wani and Pink. Zoey tries to help Dawn by showing her a combination with her Glameow and her Shellos. First Zoey has Shellos firing a Mud Bomb into the air, which Glameow used Shock Wave on, dotting up Shellos’s attack. Then Shellos uses Hidden Power to destroy the Mud Bombs, which results in a beautiful and flashy fireworks display. Zoey informs Dawn that there are many factors that create a great performance including the type of Seals used and finishing poses.

Dawn decides to practice a bit for the Double Performance, pairing Piplup with Pachirisu and Buizel with Buneary. She tries Pachirisu’s Sweet Kiss followed by Piplup using Whirlpool. Unfortunately the Whirlpool covers up the hearts from the Sweet Kiss. She then tells Pachirisu to use Discharge on the Whirlpool, but this combination fails too and it ends up zapping both Dawn and her Piplup. Dawn tries the combination for a second time, but it fails again as Pachirisu’s Discharge was too powerful.

Dawn is feeling really bad, so Ash challenges her to a practice Contest Battle while she comes up with some new combinations. Ash decides to go with his Pikachu and Aipom, while Dawn chooses her Buneary and Buizel. Ash starts off first by telling Aipom to use Swift before having Pikachu jump into the attack with Quick Attack. Dawn notices that Aipom is left wide open, and she tells her Pokémon to dodge Pikachu’s attack. Then she has Buizel to use Aqua Jet while Buneary encases him in an Ice Beam, creating an Ice Aqua Jet. However, Buizel is frozen solid and hits the ground hard before falling into the nearby river along with Aipom. Dawn is momentarily distracted by the accident, but Zoey reminds her that she is still in a match. Dawn complies, having Buizel use SonicBoom, striking Aipom out of the water. Aipom builds up its Focus Punch. Meanwhile, Pikachu aims a Thunderbolt on the ground, sending debris at Buizel and Buneary. Dawn tries to tell Buneary to intercept Aipom’s Focus Punch with Ice Beam, but Aipom is protected by the rocks and lands a direct hit on Buneary, knocking her down. Then Pikachu uses Volt Tackle, overpowering Buizel and its counter Aqua Jet, to win the match for Ash.

Dawn feels bad because her Ice Aqua Jet combination didn’t work very well. After some encouragement from her Pokémon she tries the combination once again, but it fails once more. Then Jessilina comes along, hoping to challenge Dawn while she’s still faltering. However, Zoey decides to accept instead, despite her foot not fully healed. Jessie selects her Dustox and Seviper for the match. First, Dustox aims a Poison Sting towards the sky, before Seviper hits the projectiles with Poison Tail making them spin, adding lots more speed and power to them. But Zoey turns her opponent’s combination into her own advantage, having Glameow use Iron Tail and Shellos uses Mud Bomb to destroy the stings and leave a beautiful purple sparkle behind. Then Dustox uses Psybeam, but Zoey’s Pokémon dodge the attack. Glameow fires back with Shadow Claw and Shellos uses Blizzard on the Shadow Claw for a combination attack which manages to knock both Jessie and her Pokémon back. Team Rocket decides to retreat after that.

Later, the group takes Zoey to the nearest Pokémon Center, and they all agree to meet up at the Hearthome Contest. Zoey wishes Dawn all the best with her Ice Aqua Jet combo, which gives Dawn a rise in confidence for the next rival clash.

In terms of personality, Silver is initially the darkest of the rivals in the series. While most other rivals are generally good-natured, or at least zestful enough to crack a joke at the player, Silver is (at first) cruel, hateful, power-obsessed and even physically abusive, pushing the player character around several times. Even after he starts to become kinder, he remains a rather serious individual. He does, however, express genuine happiness when Elm allows him to keep the Pokémon he stole.

Pop Goes The Sneasel (Japanese: ニューラとせいなるほのお! Nyula and the Sacred Flame!) is the 265th episode of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on September 12, 2002 and in the United States on September 16, 2003.

With Larvitar returned to its rightful home, Ash and company make their way to Silver Town for the Silver Conference Tournament. On the way, they find a group of people lined up by the Ho-Oh Shrine, where the Silver Conference Torch is ready to be carried!

The torch runner appears to be late, and when an attendant goes to tell them the news, Togepi and Pikachu run inside. Ash and the others catch them, but not before they see two trainers leaving in a huff, afraid for their Pokémon’s safety. The attendant is saddened that two more trainers have fled the Shrine, and turns to Silver Conference entry Ash Ketchum for help! Before Ash can answer, Harrison, a trainer from Hoenn, appears to help them out.

The attendant tells the tale of the shrine and why it is here; a Ho-Oh put a stop to a battle by spreading its flame throughout the area. All weapons burned, and the land was left uninhabitable, until one day, plant and animal life returned. One flame remains, which has been preserved as The Sacred Flame at the Ho-Oh Shrine. At the top of the steps is a Sneasel, which is intent on stopping anyone from approaching the Shrine. Without being able to get close, they will be unable to use the Ho-Oh’s flame to light the torch!

Ash and crew approach the Secret Flame, just as Team Rocket get approached by the Sneasel, and its Machop and Machoke friends, for invading their space. Sneasel’s Faint Attack sweeps Team Rocket into a frenzy and blast off before long. Ash makes his way to the shrine while Misty and Harrison deal with Machop and Machoke, but Sneasel shows up toss top Ash before he can take the flame. Totodile tries to stop the Sneasel, but gets taken out of the match before long by Sneasel’s Shadow Ball. Ash and Totodile crash into a tree, but Ash refuses to give up.

In the forest, Team Rocket talk about replacing Meowth with Sneasel, believing that Meowth is keeping them down, while Sneasel could help them start winning some battles. Meowth overhears the conversation, and puts a plan into motion to stop them from getting the Sneasel. Ash and Harrison are still trying to stop Machoke and Machoke, and use Phanpy and Houndoom to get the job done. Before Harrison can catch Sneasel, team Rocket come around in a Sneasel shaped balloon!

Meowth, dressed in a Sneasel outfit, approaches the wild Sneasel with a smoke bomb, but clues Sneasel in on the trick before it can go off. The bomb goes off anyway, but Team Rocket grab Meowth by accident, who goes and pops the balloon, blasting them off for a while longer. Harrison calls out his Blaziken, a Pokémon Ash’s Pokédex has no data on, as it is native to the Hoenn region. Blaziken’s Fire Punch manages to knock down Sneasel, long enough for Harrison to catch it!

Machop and Machoke are hired to guard the shrine for good, as the torch is lit and carried off to Silver Town. Harrison announces that he too is entered in the Tournament, and cannot wait to meet Ash in the stadium!

Duking: It’s a legendary Pokemon! It’s a Ho-Oh!
Rui: It is! It really is a Ho-Oh! It’s incredible!
Eagun: it must have been keeping an eye on your heroics from the sky above. You obviously earned it support.

Rui: Oh, wow. So Ho-Oh was watching over us!
Rui: Wes. I guess it’s finally over.
Rui: We faced a lot of challenges, but thanks to you, Wes, everything has been resolved.
Rui: Wes, thank you. You were strong. You answered the call. And you were cool!
Duking: Look at that! Ho-Oh is so close!
Eagun: So true! This is the first time I’ve seen one up so close.
Eagun: Rui. And Wes. The Ho-Oh is blessing you for your victory.
Eagun: Such a perfect outcome. Yes, indeed!
