There isn't really a muse thread.

The value in advice?

Note to future self, don’t do this yourself to anyone anymore, it really is a turn off.
Every fuckin experience is an education. Strikes me odd anyone can think they hold the corner on that market. Alas, there just are personalities with traits you’ve got to learn to live with. Not a deal breaker.

All that is required exists. We the people should insure this for all. That would be a more perfect union.

Shit the red man gets left out again. High time a Native American is represented in the White House.

Curious, what will be charged on the global market for a covid vaccine?

US Population: 330 million, what will be done with Billions of doses per supplier?

No body is talking about all the “deals” being made. Our tax dollars are subsidizing the pharmaceutical industry. I hope those profits are taxed… or was “that” part of the deal too?

Nothing changes…

How much progress have conservatives ever endorsed? Conservatives don’t do that. They couldn’t even get behind steam power, or the electric light bulb. They were simply changes they didn’t embrace. Any change will be perceived as extreme… as way too progressive.

Conservatives have attempted to block every major change in human rights. And even though it is the law of the land they begrudge it, in ever quarter.

Define a more perfect union…

some differences there.

Geez, the nasty posters are out tonight.

The left is most accepting of the right. while the right is just plain intolerant. I did not find the first night of the GOP convention to be at all uplifting.

Those leaning right are just less capable of civility.

I can accept that.

For every leftist or rightist out there read up on our collective political party history. From unaffiliated through Federalist, Democratic-Republicans, Whigs, Radical Democrats, Radical Republicans, The National Union party, finally settling into a two party system resembling something like Democrats and Republicans, with the rather consistent emergence of fringe groups showing up from both sides.

Lincoln started out as a Republican but he was assassinated while a member of the National Union Party for inviting a democrat to be his running mate.

Turbulent times cause reactions, not fitting squarely in either Democrat or Republican ideology. Trump, after all has swung both ways. His reaction to Obama, as a candidate for the presidency pushed a few of his racist buttons and the little springs didn’t return the buttons to their default off state.

Seems about time for another knee jerk reaction.

Politically speaking my biggest issue is our relationship too and with our environment. This planet sustains us, we should reciprocate in kind. Period. A politic that endorses an opinion of domination over is blind.

Every manufacturer of a product that is rendered useless over time should be required to recycle their products. Smoke detectors contain a radioactive element. Yet regardless of who you buy it from it ends up in a landfill. Batteries; A, AA, AAA, C, D, and all the specialty batteries that drive that rest of our electronic devices should require the manufacture recycle their products. I’d hope that fire extinguisher you have is never needed, and whether it is or isn’t it shouldn’t end up in a landfill.

Leaning perpendicular to the curve.

Muse On.

And among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. If we believe in these principals of United States Citizens the idea reciprocally applies to all humans whether they are US citizens or not. If humans have an inalienable right to life, how can we condone capital punishment? A right to life… should have protected the black slave from being lynched by a white mob with a rope and a tree handy near by. We should not have required an amendment to the constitution for that thought to be true. It is, after all, thought to be self evident.

Justice is replaced with revenge when the sight of that principle is lost.

On a similar vain, what right do I have as a citizen of the United States to deny another some presumed to be self evidently inalienable right? Love of other is tied into individual happiness. I have zero right, to condemn one human’s love of another human regardless of gender. We shouldn’t have needed an amendment to the constitution to insure that either. Follow the reasonable extension implicit in inalienable rights that are NOT limited to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but are rights among them.

It appears from this vantage that conservatives are all about denying other’s rights while defending the same right for themselves, while liberals tend to believe if it is a human right it can not be exclusively applied based on limits of race, religion, or gender orientation. And it is with this issue a conservative and a liberal can’t seem to find truth in the middle ground of commonality.

A women with reproductive capacity should have all rights over that capacity. When does a fetus become a viable human being? Shit, I’m guessing there are a bunch of seventy year olds that never made the transition from fetus to viable human being. Sheer time on the planet for many just isn’t enough. While there comes along some pretty remarkable kids that appear to be way ahead of the game despite a rather short presence on the planet.

I am proud to be liberal…we are the humans that drag the rest of the population down the road toward progress. The direction is inevitable… Environmental care and concern is among the next inevitable steps. I will always support the candidate that is greener. The cost of health care is only a problem if you can’t afford it. The environment of the planet will affect us all regardless.

Keep sticking your head in the sand in this regard and you will have willingly participated in the denial of life to more and more humans on the planet, as well as the life of many other species in the process. That, I just don’t see as a good thing if there is going to be a long run.

:open_mouth:

Capitalism, isn’t great for the cynic. The waste it encourages… is the advertising true… and what is getting fucked up in the process, is it sustainable? How?

If you’ve gotta educate me what a Marxist is, It’s likely I’m not one. Bests as I can tell, similar thinking derived from different perspectives, one independent of the other but reaching similar theology.

I would not have considered myself all that patriotic had I not taken a swim in the pool of our political party history. Perhaps I have the preamble screwed up, doesn’t it begin… We the people…? We now find ourselves a long way from there, but we the people still means the same thing. Some really bright thinking.

Can’t you see the gap in humanity? Make some room in your idea of we.

One ideology, sounds fascist. I need the Pedro’s of this world for balance. One side leans a we bit too much and the other side is there to balance it. A sort of very well matched tug of war. No one reaching the finish line but one side certainly more worn out then the other. Rest and nourishment for the weary, and better luck after a good nights sleep… but the planet is always sleeping and always awake.

Civility, civilian, patriot, a representative republic… as long as it is? As long as it is one vote and the votes are all equal, counted.

And if a citizen like me can’t have faith in the result… the system has failed a citizen. If there is any political party power in play that orchestrates it, then gather up your arms. Get behind George Washington. It’s not about a party system, that wasn’t what this nation was founded on. Look it up for your self.

You got something to say, say it, but don’t digress.

“Fucking retards” as a title for a thread on a philosophy forum? When have I ever called half the population a fucking retard?
:open_mouth:

Here’s what I find an interesting idea, as a forum member, if you express your thinking and are insulted for it, it is a form of suppression. Some one is attempting to tell another their thinking is not worthy. What are we going to do about that “vote” being suppressed? Freedom of expression. Isn’t an insult a form of denial of that freedom? Everyone’s opinion is suppose to matter. That’s how we get to a more perfect union.

Why don’t I respond to some of the questions presented to me? Cause I have nothing nice to say.

Yet I have taken the questions to heart.

I don’t agree with the rule, but if you ain’t a US citizen your opinion means squat. I’m all for the notion that if it is a human right, then nationality shouldn’t matter. But ICE practices a different ideology.

I don’t own a gun, but I have taken a gun safety class, and while a scout as a kid earned the rifleman merit badge.

One of the rules of gun safety was never fire a weapon if you can’t see your target. Gangsters shoot randomly, law enforcement is suppose to be trained to shoot purposefully. Another rule of gun safety was never point a gun at anything unless you were intending to pull the trigger. So what would I think of a gunman firing randomly into a crowd? What would I think of a squad of police officers randomly shooting into an apartment?

Shot’s fired…Man down… remove the injured if possible to safety and assess the situation. Learn what you are dealing with. Protect others from injury.

How do you enforce gun safety on the enforcers?

It is frustrating to have your concerns reduced to insignificance.

Pharma, and capitalism. Our county government has a prescription drug take back program.

Pharmaceutical waste is generally considered to be out of date over the counter and prescription medicines. Our county generated 1.4 tons of waste in the category in 2019. Doctors prescribed it… Pharmacies provided it… and the pharmaceutical companies manufactured it. Yet it is our local government that has to deal with it.

This is the sort of infrastructure capitalism doesn’t acknowledge is socialistic, yet an operational cost is reduced as result of it.

I think that entities and groups of entities that makes goods, should be liable for the waste generated by that production. All other life on the planet Earth shouldn’t have to take it in the shorts to accommodate it.

Haven’t a clue why that thinking is communistic by some who advocate for right leaning political doctrines. That is a criticism of capitalism that has to do with environmentalism.

Call someone a perineum; that’s half way between a dick with balls and an asshole.

Muses work, through inexplicable ways, as gods, hidden in their guts, far above their jingles and orifices, guts where the machinery of their expiration of essential was is expelled…

Hunger and thirst motivate the whole 9 yards and it all starts with such divine gestures. The comedy as ,DH Lawrence’s ’ would have it in The Escaped Cock ’ demonstrates the infusion of the essence of the sublime into the barbaric.

“D. H. Lawrence’s “The Man Who Died”: The Phallic Christ.”(even if Lawrence denied the obvious connotation)
