Isolated in this Webforum?

But think of my advice: ā€œGet closer to Group IIIā€.

_
A question, if I may, before I replyā€¦ why are/do the groups, have to be isolated? Fromā€¦?

Do you have an explanation for the phenomenon that most of those who habitually comment in the philosophical subforum ā€œReligion and Spiritualityā€ seem to be less nervous than most of those who habitually comment in the other philosophical subforums?

If I may answer.

I think that the four groups do not actually have to be but are isolated from each other, because they have isolated themselves from each other and keep doing it. Some do it, as Otto wrote, with intention, the others do it without intention (see: ilovephilosophy.com/viewtop ā€¦ 7#p2805135 ).

Oh ā€¦!

Good evening. I apologize for my lateness (puts the work bag on the table).

Well, Kathrina has already explained it quite well, as I have seen.

The reason for the isolation of the groups is an ancient one. People want to separate themselves from other people. Itā€™s about recognition, respectableness, power. Since all the barriers associated with the concrete counterpart of a person or group no longer exist on the internet, this isolation becomes even more apparent.

No good news? I know, youā€™ll make the best of it.

Yes, I have.

This commentators belong mostly to group IV.

Does anyone here want to deny that these groups exist?

I donā€™t think so. :sunglasses:

Have a nice evening.

They may well exist, but Iā€™m not in any one groupā€¦ I donā€™t come to ILP with any intentions in mind.

I have noticed the different cliques here tho, and I think it very small-minded a thingā€¦ and then there are those that talk to their own sock-puppets, who tell them(selves) how great they areā€¦ I find such things puzzling, but perhaps Iā€™m just far too mature to accept that as ok to do.

Iā€™ll take a troll over a sock-puppet, any day.

We all have intentions, the only question is in which situations we have them.

I would say, (a) you are neutral, as you should be as a moderator, which you were in former times, or (b) you try to touch all groups equally, which is also quite moderator-like, or (c) you are, if you do not know about the isolation of your group and want to drive others into isolation, in group III, namely very close to the other groups, or (d) you are, if you do not know about the isolation of your group and do not want to drive others into isolation, in group IV, namely very close to the other groups. (Note: The fact that you have said you ā€œtake a troll over a sock-puppetā€ is in your case indicative of group III, not of group IV, because group IV is free of trolls.)

=; Basic!

ā€¦like I said, Iā€™m not in any one group and I prefer trolls to sock-puppets, and yet you read the unsaid into my published fact.

Imma gonna take my self off to the Mensa sites, becauseā€¦ ya know. :icon-rolleyes:

Therefore ( :icon-rolleyes: ) I said, ā€ž(a) you are neutral, as you should be as a moderator, which you were in former times, or (b) you try to touch all groups equally, which is also quite moderator-likeā€œ; but since September/October 2019 you are no moderator anymore:

Therefore ( :icon-rolleyes: ) I offered you two alternatives. ā€œThere are more people in a group than people who think they are not in a groupā€ (An old and famous philosopher). Even this one is in a group:

Iā€™m probably (a), tho I can sometimes do (b) ā€¦for the sake of amusement.

Heā€™s definitely in a few groups alrightā€¦ heā€™s certainly got very specific tastes, and he owns the world to bootā€¦
Is that your account? If it isnā€™t, why choose that one? Purple semi-precious gem stones? ā€¦neat. Iā€™m a sucker for them myselfā€¦ I have a veritable collection of semi-precious stone jewellery.

The one who owns the world also owns the groups contained in it.

Go away.

From his point of view, thatā€™s how it is! :sunglasses:

Do you feel insulted?
And if so, why?
Sorry.

The world is a construct. Iā€™m sure you understand what Iā€™m getting at and alluding toā€¦?

Those that stay within their set, are welcome to it ā€¦those that venture out, grow their character and confidence more, than those that donā€™t/who become hollow insideā€¦ void of character and kindness.

Currently there is a lot of talk about trolls and sock-puppets here at ILP.

What annoys a poster more: the troll or the sock-puppet?

Trolls and sock-puppets are functions of a strategy.

And what is the strategy of a troll? So their strategies pay off? Perhaps low dividends!!!

The strategy of a troll is to isolate the others, to destroy them, but sometimes also to have fun with them under the condition that this leads to the goal of having no other topic than the topic ā€œfunā€.

This is my assessment. I do not consider myself a troll, but I am interested in the motives of trolls.
