It is good to have people in our lives that are close and play important roles in our life development.
We need more role models in society especially for the young. There is something completely alienating and socially isolating about modern society.

I think we got too far from the natural order, and keep on drifting further away with each passing day. And i dont mean that as some sort of stereotypical empty platitude, but as actual biology.
Such as the capacity of the brain to contend only with 100-150 size groups which it can still call it’s own.
Such as the brain’s inability to process the amount of constant and nonstop information barrage the internet and social media is exposing it to.
Such as the lack of basic problems we can solve, and through which we can give purpose and meaning to our lives.
Of course modern society is alienating.
We created ourselves a good world. Not a perfect one, but one that would seem like outright magic to anyone who lived in the past 20’000 years.
And just like in the matrix, the way humanity could not process a perfect world. Neither can we process this one, albeit its still not as devastating as a perfect world would be.

I think you underestimate humans’ capacity to deal with things.
The distortions on the whole happen because retarded emotions tend to be stronger and more compelling than refined ones.
We live largely under the dictatorship of the emotional retard. The flip side is that refined emotions can put the ball anywhere, like Messi, and one of those is worth a hundred of the retards. So the issue is not decided.
Problems were a great filter for this.
Your hunger, or the cold of your home cared very little about your emotional bs. You either chopped that wood and filled that pantry, or how you felt about it were the least of your issues.
