Are you calling me a dogmatist or a somatist? I’m pretty sure a ‘domatist’ isn’t anything.
And I’m not being either. I have an open mind, hence why I even looked at your diagram and took the time to understand it. And I very much admit to the existence of the future, but it’s just plain…dogmatic to assume that:
A) We’re going to progress in technology far enough to assume ‘galactic command’
B) We’ll live long enough to progress that far before we die by some calamity, the sun expanding, or our own stupidity
C) Some other alien life form won’t/hasn’t already beat us to it
The logical progressions of human consciousness from a family group base through clan, nation, international and the eve of a global consciousness, make it reasonable to assume that our consciousness will extend further out towards a universal state of consciousness. In fact extension into near space has already begun. It may be idealistic to assume we will eventually arrive at our galactic center, but certainly not dogmatic.
A distinct possibility - maybe I should have put a side-bar on the diagram :
If the spiral of past development is any indication, our evolutonary cycle will end long before the sun explodes.
There are no alien consciousnesses in the universe. All are energized by the same atomic explosion…There will be many seats at the Galactic Command Center. At that stage, nobody beats up anybody.
Being specific is more helpful. Please keep it up.
Correcting and correct are two different words. I guess you could say that I’m correcting you, as you are someone who happens to think they’re correct. But I’m correcting by just pointing out that you could be and probably are wrong.
Sorry to interrupt this witty banter with philosophy, but. . .
Why do you say that we are on “the eve of global consciousness”? What does that mean?
Why do you say our consciousness already extends into near space? I’m guessing you don’t mean via modern technology, because we can see into very very far space with that.
Why do you think that we will return from whence we came? Why do you think the universe is cyclical, and not spiral or linear? What of WMAP findings that the universe is flat and expanding?
Assuming the universe is cyclic, why does a conscious universe ultimately explode into an unconscious universe?
A few hundred years ago all countries were steeped in their own national consciousness.
Colonialism threw the stew pot of nationalists together and created international consciousness.
Now international super-powers are beginning to realize that the world can only be governed via global cooperation.
Problems anywhere affect us everywhere. Some die-hards do not agree on globalization. Well they can’t stop human evolution. It is going to happen even if it kills us.
It is invitable that we begin terra forming at some point in the future. There are already plans to mine Helium 3 on the moon. So global consciosuness will eventually evolve into solar consciousness.
I think the Big Bang/Big Crunch theory is what is actually happening. Prove it wrong and I will go back to the drawing board and work on another diagram.
On the contrary the universe is conscious and always will be, no matter how many cycles it experiences. You cannot get rid of energy and all energy is conscious. Conscious cannot evovle out of nothing. Arguing that consciousness happened randomly does not explain anything.
