A poem about how people aren't very nice nowadays.

The children are running,
People shouting in tongues,
But nobody stops to listen,
They kill each other,
They lie ad cheat,
People only care for themselves,
There are no villains,
There are no heroes,
Just people with no love for anything,
They pillage and burn,
They riot when they don’t win,
They don’t know anything else,
They look up to the sky,
With words from the gods they destroy,
The truth is unknown,
The only thing they know is lies,
With iron fists they’re ruled,
Promises of false rights they give them,
I just stand back and watch,
I’m no fool to try and stop them,
Let them destroy themselves,
I’m just a poet,
I’m nor hero nor villain, though some treat me as such,
I’ll just stand aside
And watch the clouds,
I’ll just stand aside and wait,
I’ll wait till I’m needed,
Perhaps then I can help.

Very nice, aside from what appear to be some obvious typos. If you were trying to capture a certain feeling of frustration, futility & despair I’d say you accomplished your goal very well.

This is possibly your best poem to-date - at least based on what you’ve posted here that I’ve had the chance to read. You’ve captured something so very, very true about where we are as a species at this very moment in how we relate to one-another and the world we live on.
