Basically I and many others foresee what can only be described as an aging demographic bomb that will shake the very fabric of civilization as we know it concerning social or financial societal cohesion. This thread here we explore that subject a bit more.

And our population curve has happened a lot in history in post war societies, baby booms tend to happen after major wars and serious disasters, like plagues.
The need to corner property has evolved by a very different pattern.
The property bubble will implode in our lifetime (well, mine at least), no crystal ball is needed to predict that. We are going to be dramatically shrinking the area of farmland as new Algaeculture methods take further hold, reducing the amount of land needed to provide feed to livestock… this process isn’t hypothetical, already begun. Likewise, the baby boomers are dying. If we maintain our property laws as they are (in the beginning we will, not for long) we will see in the next few decades further gentrification of poor neighborhoods, and right now, it is brutal… no place for people to start a household… but the property bubble is certain to shatter.
We will have more and more property available, food won’t be disrupted. Currency will look like shit.

Obama in his genius started seriously undermining this so as to find money for Obamacare… we’ve seen some serious crunches already start occurring and it will get much worst under the next president, no matter who… I think a lot of the Obama damage to our agriculture can be reversed in under two years.
What won’t be reversible is the long term trend of farmers increasingly using GMO crops… this isn’t bad, it is great… far safer and more nutritious than organics, last longer, larger… All benefits, no tangible negatives. Absolutely none, save farmers don’t control seed stock.
We will as time go by, I’m talking over the next few decades, following our current trends, consolidate a lot of farms in the livestock industry. All you need to grow Algae is a big ass clear tube, some water, sunlight, and nutrient rich water. That can be found near most water sources.
It won’t just be the US, but the world increasingly using these tubes to produce fertalizer and farm feed. Farm run off far less scary. Not as bad to the ocean. What it us horrible to is banks… and people who have looked towards owning large estates as safe bets. It us going to implode like a motherfucker.
In a age of increased property prices, if farms reduce faster in area and increase their efficiency faster than the baby boomers can die off, how many of us are just gonna turn fake farmers, buying cheap farmland, moving into a joke of a agricultural lifestyle with one cow or one pig or a few sheep, neglecting the land and letting it go feral, all just to live in the farmhouse? Now, in twenty years, if that doesn’t happen, a lot of land will come into being available… Not in city cores, but in the outer suburbs, land will go at Detroit prices. It happened here, houses were being sold $5000 a pop, in old steel working neighborhoods.
The money the elderly have, if they are no longer working, no longer exists. We’ve tried to do the “It’s a wonderful life” argument that your money is in tangible objects others use… bit I can’t help but notice a lot of that suffers from Nature’s Entropy… Rust. Shit sits inert all over. Only money that actually exists is that producing stuff NOW. It is why I sneer at Sovereign Wealth Funds, like Norway or Saudi Arabia mass playing the stock market.
