War itself is the greatest cause of instability, war begets more war.
Next to war, draconian covid laws and lockdowns are the greatest cause of instability in the world.
Trump has taken a moderate approach to covid, good on him.
As time goes on, Belarus and Sweden’s strategy on covid is being vindicated, they took the right, or better approach.
Arguably some of the instability Trump caused was necessary, continuing to ship jobs overseas, to China and so on was unsustainable.
America is far too dependent on foreign dictatorships for its goods.
Trump is right to encourage self-sufficiency.
And Trump is not alone in this, Bernie Sanders too was a protectionist who wanted to bring jobs back and keep jobs from being outsourced.
China deserves all the criticism Trump gives it, it’s basically a richer and far more powerful North Korea.
It invaded Hong Kong and is plotting to invade Taiwan.
It’s oppressing Muslims, Christians, Tibetans and many others, including Han Chinese.
It’s a terrible nation, and we should work towards isolating it economically and politically whenever and wherever we can, not becoming more dependent on it.
Trump didn’t start the cold civil war, dems and the Bushs/Romneys of the republican party did, from day one of his inauguration.
Trump always discouraged violence, and the vast majority of the protestors were nonviolent.
A few took it upon themselves to commit vandalism and disrupt the proceedings, that’s not Trump’s fault, nor could it meaningfully be characterized as an attempt to overthrow the government.
Besides, where does it say protests have to be peaceful, right?
See Antifa/BLM.
I don’t wish to get into a debate about covid here or now.
Half my output on this forum this year has been on covid.
I believe the virulence of covid has been greatly exaggerated for socioeconomic and political reasons.
I also believe the efficacy of covid laws and lockdowns has been greatly exaggerated.
Anyone who wants to hear both sides of the argument may want to check out my thread:
It starts off a bit rough, but I think it improves as it develops.
I’ve also participated in good threads Urwrong, Karpel Tunnel and others started on the subject.
I’ll let those threads speak for themselves, I have nothing more to say on the subject for now.
here is a better video of the insurrectionist who invaded our capitol and attempted to threaten our govt and our democratic process yesterday and who was killed while committing her crime by our noble law enforcement officers who did their duty to protect our country. she died like a dog. they should bill her family for the cleanup.
god bless america and god bless the men and women of law enforcement who put their lives on the line to protect our democracy and our country from traitorous scum like this woman.

these are the traitors who have been calling for civil war. waving the flag of the traitors who tried to divide our nation. breaching the capitol building in order to threaten our elected representatives and disrupt our democratic process. literally shattering windows to make their way through barricaded doors in order to inflict harm on not only our form of govt, the people who have the job of executing it, our sacred institutions, and the constitution itself. the police should have killed them all on sight.
There is one puzzle piece that will click in to make this all make sense: Donald Trump is a liar and manipulator using poor, uneducated, fanatically religious Americans as pawns.
