In Matthew 10.35 it refers to the division created by a choice to follow and proclaim Him or reject Him.
An example:
I remember vaguely, could have been on KTS, where you described a discussion with your Mother, who is/was a devout believer, Greek Orthodox (?),You said you had to discontinue the discussion as she was becoming too distraught by your attempts to dissuade her.
Families are divided every day when a person turns to Christianity, it becomes Christian versus the non or embryonic Christian. The verse does not mean wanting to break up families, it suggests that conflict may result between those who accept and those who reject.
Believe it or not, Christians are the most persecuted class of people around the globe.
What is your belief, you are obviously not without one.
You have shared in the past your acceptance and embracement of (Hellenism) Ancient Greek Paganism, although not as publicly or as often as you denounce Christianity.
Hellenism, whether centred on contemporary or ancient Paganism, is characterised by its veneration of the gods of the Hellenic world, honouring them by means of prayers, hymns, offerings and rituals and what is the closest religion to Paganism? Catholicism. with its prayers, hymns, offerings and rituals, babbling like pagans.
So what is Greek Paganism all about?
The Prize
The Greek gods smile on those that accept their responsibilities and honour those who honour them . Not one god, but all 12 Deities.
Zeus, Hera, Poseidon, Apollo, Artemis, Athena, Ares, Hermes, Aphrodite, Hephaestus, Dionysus, Demeter. Not forgetting Hades.
Or Hestia, who voluntarily gave up her place on Olympus so that she could dwell among humanity, because of her care for humankind.
The Belief
“The most common is that the dead descend into Hades to spend their afterlife as a Shade of their former self. There is also the view that the more deserving may spend their afterlives in The Asphodel Meadows, a place of natural beauty where the dead may dine upon asphodel flowers. To some though, the afterlife of Hades is simply a resting place for the soul before it drinks from the waters of forgetfulness and is reincarnated into a new life. Many within Hellenismos believe in reincarnation and it was a subject broached by many philosophers of the ancient world.”
You are really no different from those who revere Islam, Judaism, Protestantism, or Catholicism, which is the most dangerous, by its sheer power and influence.
