Take my point? A few minutes spent on google proves precisely nothing. That you only spent a few minutes looking proves that your aim was not sincere, objective or logical, but dogmatic, single-minded and propagandist.
Because i posted them all at once they may seem ALOT… but they’re ussualy written once every 2 weeks or so… so i get around to reading 2~3~4 a week.
If my threads “messed-up” the Natural Sciences forum… Please someone from the staff move them all together in 1 single thread.
Although all other threads sound like: “Evolution doesn’t make sense”, “young earth creationism”, “intelligent design”… and so on… which should not be here in the first place because such issues are not debatable in the scientifical world.
The point is that, rather than produce an intelligent argument, you spent 5 minutes rounding up ‘troops’ on google then spammed the forum. This is not the behaviour of a rational person.
Firstly, those threads have been going on for a lot longer than the time that you’ve been in this debate. Secondly, evolution is not a complete and absolute set of rules, even if we only consider science as a measure, so to deny discussion of them on a PHILOSOPHY forum ABOUT SCIENCE, when you’ve only been here for a pube’s width of time, is arrogant and overbearing. I’m not calling rank, but the fact is that you’ve primarily contributed angry posts that don’t use evidence or reasoning and often resort to personal insults, so you are not in any position to start legislating on what should and shouldn’t take place here. Maybe when you’ve contributed a bit more to ILP than aggressive mudslinging, assumptions and accusations then you can start making requests. But ILP is not here to make you feel like everything you believe is right and everyone else is wrong. In fact, I’d argue that ILP is here to do the precise opposite, to everyone.
The pointless and meaningless debates i’ve had here trying to convice irrational people of science FACT… made me nervous enough to become irrational for a brief moment …
And also… the fact that i’m new here doesn’t make me wrong nor does it make you right. Thats no arguemnts, sorry.
Not the point - if you’d turned up and been polite and not insulted people (including myself, so you can’t deny it) and not made every conversation into a reason why you hate religion then perhaps your request would be worth something. As it is, you’ve contributed very little then made a totally unrealistic demand. Why should the moderators here do anything other than ban your ass for causing trouble? They won’t, but that’s not because you don’t deserve it…
I don’t need to pay for all those sites since many have free online articles; the only thing i do pay is a science magazine i get weekly in the mail here at my home.
thus, like most people who are interested or involved in science (including myself), you read a tiny fraction of the giant pile… and perticularily a fraction of the literatury of the subjects which interest you
It would be a waste of my time to read stuff that didn’t interest me. It’s a virtue to be able to rationaly select which information is correct and which is not and also a virtue to select the books which will expand your knowledge and which books will sink you in deeper into the “dirt we come from”.
of course… one comment though… based on books you can hardly make a judgement like ‘correct’ and ‘incorrect’ … imo, you could only judge it more or less ‘reliable’
i did go a little over the top today… its just that yesterday and the day after i was so depressed and sick of people doubting the scientifical community over the gospels of others that i was close to giving up.
