Get a Wii. They utterly and completely kick ass - Mario Kart is probably the best multiplayer game you’ll ever get. If you have any friends.

I hate the wii, titles like metal gear solid 4, and so forth are the reason i got a ps3. Its technological superior in everyway.
On a totally unrelated note, I have no problems funding whichever company made the ps3, the technology has been used to help create the fastest current super-computer, ‘road-runner’ or at least, one of the fastest.

I’ve played just about every console ever made. Nintendo has always been the most fun.
If you play games to feel like you’re watching a CGI movie, buy an X Box 360.
If you play games to feel like you’re playing a computer game, buy a Wii.
If you’re a tosser, buy a PS3.
Desire to be popular, going for the path of least resistance and so on.
Except the Wii is more fun and has a more adaptable control system which immerses you more fully in the better games that it has.
More scientists who are using up vast amounts of energy and resources and clearly aren’t part of the consensus on global warming…

I bought my ps3 when its game-title base was sad, I bought my ps3 when everyone I knew talked/to said the x-box360 was a superior piece of technology and had much much better games, it costs like 200$ more than the x-box360. It wasn’t the path of *least resistance, infact, i’d have to say it was the path of most resistance.
It was a decision based upon the technology in the ps3, past satisfaction with sony’s game base, asnd confidence that sony would eventually take advantage of their system.
I’ve played a wii, its fun, I just don’t see this stuff about deep immersion due to the controller. its just a stick, that you wag around, and it losses its originallity pretty quick. I’m not a big-fan of a lot of the titles, besides zelda, as well. All this mario galaxy shit, no thanks. I don’t like most nintendo titles, though the zelda series is golden. I don’t see the quality games on Wii either, minus the mario-esque games with a bit of a childish vibe to them, not that theres anything wrong with that, its not unadult to play them, I just don’t personally like it.
Not many games on wii are ever going to have the quality of gta4 or mgs4.

You’ve clearly never played any of the numerous games where you need to be subtle and not just ‘wag it around’. Try Metroid Prime.
Very few games will ever be as good as GTA4. But it’ll eventually get ported to PC and probably to the Wii as well.

If you’re cool with piece-o-shit hardware that will likely fail inside of a year, buy a 360.
If you’re interested in playing the biggest and best games on the single best piece of console hardware ever made, buy a PS3.
If you’re eight, or a girl, or looking to play games that your grandmother can get into, buy a Wii.
A PS3 is just an updated PS2. It’s like buying an incrementally better PC.
Though I suppose, since you’re a fan of solitude, a PS3 might fit better in your life.
