assumptions and education,,,,

one of the points that underline the modern world is this,
we exist within a series of underlying assumptions…
and the point of philosophy is to get to the base of these
underlying assumptions that is the root of our existence…

for example, is democracy really the best means to government or
have we assumed that? From where I sit, I can defend a democracy
as a form of government far better than I can defend a dictatorship
or monarchy or even my preferred form of government, anarchism…

Personally, I have a much tougher time defending capitalism as
an economic solution over the other forms of economic activity…
so far, the mixed economic solutions seem to be the better solution,
a mixture of socialism and capitalism… so far…but I suspect the best economic
solution for us, its creation still lies in the future… but we will see…

the work of becoming human lies in our removing assumptions, not adding to
them…this practically means that we end the practice of education as a
means of indoctrinations…education till now has served as a means of
the indoctrinating our children into the biases, prejudice, habits and
superstitions of a country, a state, a government, a culture, society…

education needs and must be the teaching of facts, reason, logic…
the tools needed to get to the understanding of what it means to
be human…tools that enable to see and seek out our
possibilities as human beings… education is no longer a tool, a teacher of
of the prejudices and biases of a state or society…

education is just about the facts as we find them… the Earth is 93 million
miles from the sun…and what that means for us as human beings scientifically…
any commentary about the meaning of that distance is not wanted…
so we cannot say, god established that distance to create us human beings…
for that is an assumption and nothing more than an assumption…

and education is about removing assumptions not adding to them…
