Axelrod/Blinken convo questions

This was a month ago, but still “current” (hence I put it in current events). About midway in, I have questions.

  1. Blinken says the U.S. does its dirty laundry transparently in public (no examples), but Axelrod later says Internet connectivity is a problem due to populist movements (no examples). This one is just an observation for the fact checkers.

  2. Blinken says Zelensky was warned with U.S. intelligence & denied it to keep from scaring off investors and citizens. Reminds me of telling folks they don’t need to wear masks before mandating everyone wear masks. Note Soros is huge investor in Ukraine. Note Blinken’s family ties to Hungary. Just saying.

  3. What does Blinken mean by the Steven Pinker view of the world?

  4. Who does Axelrod mean by “the global elite”? Not Soros?

  5. Human rights… in foreign countries… like at home… as long as it doesn’t cut into the profits, powers, etc., right? Human rights only insofar as it staves off economic unrest, no? We’re competitors (“interest”), not a charity (“values”), amiright?

  6. Thank you, Axelrod, for noting Biden’s fist bump felt round the world.

  7. Hong Kong… no pipeline or semiconductors there, I guess? #democracy
