I didn’t know why till now the reason the North Korean Girl Band left China in a hurry, now The South China Morning Post is claiming it was because the band featured long range middles being fired in the background. The Chinese Primier was expected to attend.
I’m supposing the real reason was he didn’t want to engadge in militant propaganda, being seen cheering long range middle attacks, at a time the US delivered more defensive weapons to Taiwan (which we have done since before the PRC came to power). I’m guessing it was too big of a contradiction.
I’m just impressed the North Koreans called China’s bluff and returned home, instead of changing their format. Last country I would expect to stand up for artistic dignity would be the DPRK. Someone designed it, so I guess this is a victory for that artist’s work. Too bad it more or less replicated the singing ballistic missile launch at the beginning of the movie “The Interview”.
