Thanks , Surya, I really appreciate it. Life is a game, built on chess.
The significance of the characters, knight, bishop, etc is fascinating as historical artifacts,
At Your convenience, preferably say, next week? Playing 5 games presently. What Bobby Fisher could do with multiple players, I may be and have been too presumptuous.
Thanks . A very brief game, I blundered bad. Hoping when back in the States, we can resume.
Loca- thanks for game as well, your form has surprisingly improved, looking forward to our next bout.
Carleas, and Loc : can I rechallange you in a week, and are you ok with intermittent interruption due to same- travels until at least mid-August? In that case I will notify you both the time and the duration of such interruptions.
I played at life, and now I play chess.. a decision I made upon joining the workforce, in that I’d have plenty of time to play chess somewhere down the line.. and now that time has come.
. “The significance of the characters, knight, bishop, etc is fascinating as historical artifacts,”
..yes, in infantry becoming pawns, cavalry becoming knights, elephants becoming bishops, and chariots becoming rooks.. from the original Indian pieces/military to monarchy.
. “At Your convenience, preferably say, next week? Playing 5 games presently. What Bobby Fisher could do with multiple players, I may be and have been too presumptuous.
At any rate foreward your availability.”
..thanks for starting the last game.
.
..that’s because I’ve been taking coaching lessons from Coach Nadia
..thanks for starting the next ‘bout’.
.
The last game..
I agree that’s yes, it’s exciting , to live a life where the eccitement consists of, where proving a delusiveness of a game, and I say delusive of a game where proving it otherwise appears to be such a complex but trivial matter.
In fact, it’s been trivialized as some trifle killing of feared wasted time, and yet observed as a crystalline game of ages, of transmitting substantial technique even if such materializes so very infrequently that it boggles the mind.
To the point of increduality. To advertantly seek release in the unspoken word, the slight caress, the mother’s gentle care. Where does it come from or go?
Here it is in present technique, even to loose, subordinately, or win against all strains of masochistic abandon. It’s just a game, a game that has evolved, to the point where even those fearing delirium engage, to prove their innocence, their abandoning the worst case scenario of becoming a hermit, of philosophy.
Not too far fetched when years ago it was considered a legitimate role to play akin to the eastern role of bodshittva.
There is only one source, the power to see others, and in that way how can not but glimpse of you?
There is magic in that, just like the enigma? Of identification with the greatest primitive anthropologist of greater France, Levi Strauss with a pair of denims, pants which have eclipsed its self from farms and factories to matters of idolatry. No the barn is full, but. Learned Saturday nights for the square dance.
Sure it can drive one bonkers the familial familiarity of genetic alliance to those unnoticed.
The game must go on irrespective of its Chinese founders, lest the East and west collide.
Back on track. Some notes on chess.
As far as I am concerned, the uneven scores I’m experiencing are not really a surprise, that scores are uneven because neither am I an established securely rated player, but admittedly a kind of uneven and prone to react disparagingly to sudden changes in outcomes.
But as this goes, the other thing occurred, is that I am definitely note a bot. Course have been afflicted by ‘botism’ as we all have to various degrees I’m not yet into that singular to singularity shift wer’e all dreading or hopefullly and faithfully awaiting.
Thank you for the game, Carleas, I’m not challenging you now, let’s put it on the back burner mainly for the obvious reason that you’re better now, and I’m on the go again tomorrow.
Ive discovered in my chess playing life, my niche in puzzles. Im a beast in chess puzzling, over 2800 rated, but still weak on speed. Chess play, once upon a time, yeah, but not so much anymore, too demanding. And anyway, what earthly mortal can hope to defeat behemoths like Magnus, Praggnanandhaa, Gukesh, Keymer…them dudes ain’t even human. They are biological prototypes of Deep Blue.
Kamkid, true about being demanding, but here is the thing that sometimes adds to the challenge of natural self discovery. That is , subtract the simulated stuff learned by rote, that is thinking to choose what is expected, to look appeased, a man of the world, this, as not taking the road less traveled.
So surprised when out of the blue, tied with a grandmaster rated 2750, not too deep, when all things considered could have been his off day, had argument with wife or something.
But then what’s real exciting about chess, the long history of it, and how one move could realign all succeeding ones, and in line with postmodern thinking, even preceding ones!
..it’s also akin to meditation, in stilling, focusing, and clearing the mind of the trivial to make way for more imminent thought.
,
..talking of thought.. I really need to stop diverting my thoughts/attention whilst talking my turn, as at least I’ll lose less easily than I have been.
When I lost today, I was on the bus on my way to a hospital appointment.. I should have waited to make my moves upon my return.
No rush, it’s merely a game, albeit one that needs focus. Ultimately it’s for fun, although naively put it does apply to thinkers tinkering with programs and simulations of one kind or another. One can loose X consecutively, then other times gain advantage over an opponent.
A change of mood, of shifting orientation, or situation can make a difference.
Then why not play against AI? Why must a married man with a wife and children make such an effort to play another woman? Because it’s an emotional affair and an excuse to interact with another woman. Adultery. Oh, big deal I make? Then quit the shenanigans and prioritize your wife. Obviously Mags can’t secure a decent man and must run to grandpa.
Checkmate.
This explains it:
Dad set a bad example. Some of this stuff should be private, not shared in front of the world.
Actually chess.com is AI.And the real facts are, contrary to the presupposed idea that any type of person can play. Others of different backgrounds compete , not to prove themselves, but in order to have fun. If someone wants to date, there are plenty of on line venues for that.
The implications of what you are saying are mere invalidated suppositions, and I really feel they you are a lonely elderly person, and projecting your own situation, as I feel for you for that. Or, going through mid life crisis.
If you play chess, join chess.com and let’s play!
