This is a rather dated documentary from the U.S. which is loosely based on the text ‘The Society of The Spectacle’ written by French Revolutionary Guy-De-Bord from The Situationist movement. I thought it was worthwhile to post here as it gives a good general incite into the entirely REALITY of what the SPECTACLE is, and it captures quite well the idea of the SPECTACLE as a PRACTICAL-REALITY-AND-TOTAL-SYSTEM-OF-RATIONAL-LOGIC.
The documentary is quite interesting as a comment and criticism of modern social organisation - particularly in this era of rampant consumerism and increasing rhetoric and reality of GLOBALISATION.

*Mandatory Force,
*Addictive dependance,
*Priority,
*Ignorance of anything other than the most stressful and prioritized.
Almost every man on earth is less cruel to a stranger than he is towards his own body. Suicides outnumber homicides, globally and on average. There is no narcassism. There is only the synthesis of existential scarcity which ends in a complete waste of life.[/size]

Rulers will flip from pushing ‘democracy’ as their motivation for war in one arena while overthrowing a democratically elected government in another. They will preach about freedom with one hand on their heart, then take more and more control over their congregation with the other.
Corporate masters are the same. Murdoch, for instance, puts himself forward as an arch conservative in the U.S. yet few are aware that he runs a left leaning paper in Australia and happily censors news and incorporates propaganda in socialist China. Murdoch went as far as to divorce his wife and marry a Chinese woman to create an heir for his new Chinese operation. This is not as outrageous as it seems; rulers have been marrying into, or for, power throughout history but it does expose how far he’s willing to go for more power.
The ruler/leader/master who comes out on top is one who is not confined by an ideology, not restricted by values and not handicapped by principles. He is one who adapts to, then exploits, the conditions around him.
Perhaps this is not how it ‘should be’ but this is how it is. Delusions don’t protect, they only assist those who wish to keep you deluded.
