Life has a desire for completion. But I don’t believe this is a desire for death, annihilation or “perfection”. For example, the desire to become crystalline, like a quartz or metal, or to become “nothing”.
I think Life’s objective is to achieve stability and harmony. This is what Life desires as “completion”. For example, a stable energy consumption, to sustain itself, a clean home free of hostile microbes, stable shelter from the elements, weapons to protect against hostile creatures, a mate to love them, a fire to keep them warm, drugs and entertainment to keep them perpetually high, and brain mechanical modifiers to delete negativity and unwanted trauma. The “lack of completion” that life feels, is the homeostasis, the boredom and drug withdrawals, inability to feel perpetually high.
I think Life subconsciously knows that reincarnation exists and that nothingness doesn’t exist. Otherwise, people would be committing suicide in droves. Westerner’s ego consciousness is retarded, but not subconsciously retarded.

Life does not desire Harmony and Balance. Harmony and Balance are BORING. Boringness is another (higher) level of Suffering. Entertainment and Games are premised upon competition and violence. Why? Because competition and violence is at the bottom of Life–Struggle, Agon(y), Suffering.
Consciousness itself is built upon Suffering / Stress / Anxiety. The cognitive ‘Ordering’ function of the brain is to suppress these ‘Negative’ feelings, emotions, and thoughts. Intelligence attempts to self-control its own Fear drive. Many (or All) forms of Rationalization are premised upon Fear (of Death).
