I setup move 23 ahead of time, was targeting that idea since move 19. Then he pushed the pawn I was going to capture with the knight sac, but I realized I can still just move the knight to g5 anyway. He has no choice but to capture it, since otherwise he loses his bishop when he moves his queen out of attack.
See how I built up more and more pressure on the queen, controlling the e file and hitting the bishop, before moving the knight back to h3. By that point he was already lost, just didn’t know it yet.
Please just ignore the scores going on right here. Rule number one. Never assume you’re in the other person’s head. Never assume what the other player’s gonna do.
S/He’s 12 points ahead. I should’ve resigned a long time ago. What does s/he do? S/He moves their bishop out of the way.
That’s a hard lesson to learn.
You might say, “Why don’t you play with people your own size?” You might also say I’m the one that got me here. That, or Ecmandu cursed me. (JK)
Don’t worry about material. Just open up lines of attack, and make sure you have at least one out for their own attacks along the way. They will always chase the “free” material.
