You and Sauwelios.
You dimwits.
Alright, alright, I can see youâre not in the mood.
Let me know if it passes, we can have some interesting conversations.
No we cant. Thats the ground of my anger with you people.
We have to be rhetorical and âcleverâ about shit.
Iâm not trying to be rhetorical and clever. You said is that a 1500 game I mean. No it was not.
What is it you want to talk about?
I donât even understand how you guys manage, in this age, to stay so fucking ignorant. Its a skill.
Ok, alrightâŚ
Are you angry now?
If we are going to talk about chess, then my point is this, there is nothing to talk about at this level.
Just say âi took the juicer here, take take takeâ
donât pretend to be a warlord of the game. A couple of million players outrank you.
I just have fun with the game, Jakob. Holy Moses.
Moses is I guess pretty holy. Lets talk about that then.
I think about Judaism, you may have some more advanced ideas.
What do you make of Israel right now? I mean in terms of Judaism. Whatâs going on?
Lets pretend that is all chess. 4d, 5d, 2d, whatever.
Whats going on with this pretty dumb seeming war?
Ive lost track.
Is it apocalyptic accellerationism as the professpr Jiangs say?
Is it a scheme to ditch the F35s and bring back the F15s? Thats the only positive I see coming out of it so far.
What do you make of Trump?
Im having some problems with his second term. He already kind of lost me at the victory convention with Hulk Hogan who then promptly died.
In terms of Judaism?
Far as I can make out, same as always. Hate to be a traditionalist, but read Theodr Hertzl. Same game, different pazers at the table.
About the war, I mean. If you canât see it, I doubt I can be of help. But if you want to talk about Trump, Iâll say this (and 57d chess): itâs pretty magical that accurate geopolitcs and the opinions of everyday-USA scmucks now perfectly aligns.
Bro Herzl was not religious.
Bro you didnât read the book.
I did. Long ago though. Maybe you can try to be a bit less noncomittal.
Dont let this be the same shit as your physics where you throw in some name literally without any content, either by the name or you, to accompany it and then expect people to be impressed with your understanding.
In any case Secular Zionism, that is, the decision that we donât need to wait for the Messiah to take the land, is older than Herzl. Do you know where, through who, it originated?
Probably more informative, to be frank, is the history of how Iran came to be. Whether you see a religious aspect to traditional Herzian Zionism or not, the basis of it remains the same. A story that doesnât have too laberynthian a mystery to it.
The history of the modern Muslim states, however, now that is the real interesting question.
Ok lets go into Herzl.
He took up this older idea and radicalized it, saying that the Jewish âquestionâ is secular and not religious. First of all to separate them that way is retarded. It can not be only the one and not at all the other.
Because secular Jewishness was something very recent. Jewishness-sec is, simply, the religion.
This is my beef with the modern secular jews. You cant just cut off your entire lineage, all the work that was done under God to shape this tribe into its power, and then say oh wait well we donât need that.
Thats the deeper layer. The less deep layer is that the very reason to get back to that specific land, is religious. That particular homesickness has been kept alive by the religion.
All that said, I like the secular Israeli, the simple ex-army guy. And that youre never truly out of the army. In a way that whole program worked, at least fora bunch of people. I met some there, they were pleasant.
In this vein, there have been some credible leaders. One of them, Sharon. In light of all the emotionalism and hysteria going on on all sides about Israel, I summarized a list of quotes from the guy. Sent it to a Dutch Jewish outlet, I dont think they liked this earthiness too much.
My favorite is âwe are eating their fishâ. Its a thing he said after he won a battle over the Sinai and was camping at the Red Sea. That is health, that glee.
After 2500 years exile eating stuffy doughballs in broth Im here, roasting fresh fish from the sea of Moses.
This is why I think you either didnât read the book, or read it so long ago that it is not fresh any more.
Hahahahahahahaha beautiful.
Yes. Fine I will pick up the book.
I want to add something.
In case I wasnât explicit enough, the war against Palestine is not really a war against Palestine, it is a proxy war against Iran.
Terrorism and ideologico-political intransigence in Palestine is 100% the product of Iranian cells.
It didnât use to be that way, necessarily. The entire Muslim world used to be against Israel. But they have mostly mellowed out with time, and basically are silently opposed to Iran for being troublemakers and getting in the way of business, not to mention infiltrating their own political systems with cells of their own.
You think antisemitism is the only latent genocide but, as a (cultural, if you like) Catholic, it hurts a lot to see what has happened in the last 20 years with our brothers, specially in Lebanon and Siria.
These fanatics have to die. Not for religious reasons, but the religious reasons definitely exist.
You know though that the Israeli government is blamed by its population for at least allowing, if not actually setting up these attacks in 2023? That was clear from the outset to me, a false flag. The way it was filmed alone. Isis style. Arabs or Persians donât film that way. Netanyahu openly chose Hamas over other Palestinian leadership. So it was an attack engineered to do - what?
The first day after the attacks newspapers published a photograph from the Israeli army, showing a bunch of soldiers with some complicated gear seemingly poised to commence some difficult and brave infiltration operation. I thought they were going to go into Gaza, as commandos, and try to clean it up cleanly. The next day I saw a video of an apartment building being bombed from the sky. And that went on.
Yeah Iran is a lot worse than even current Israel. And despite many people disputing this, I donât think anyone does not know that this is a fight against Iran, but that fight against Iran is a fight that Iran has been waging against the presence of Israel challenging their dominion in the region which is extremely ancient. Its not like Israel is just there, innocently minding its own business. Ben Gurion knew this and was open about it.
Has the Arab world become more mild towards Israel? Several leaderships have. But I donât think any of the people in the region have. After 9/11 I was in Lebanon and Syria to figure out what had happened. Ordinary guys there predicted the wars that would indeed ensue against Irak, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Lebanon, Syria, and Iran. I talked to Hezbollah who drove me around through Southern Lebanon in a region that had been taken back from Israel. There was a military prison there, they gave me the tour, of course a bunch fo torture apparatuses. It wasnât pleasant. But then a guy said see? This is just like Auschwitz. And that lost him my identification with him.
How had these people driven out the Israelis? They showed me. We took a road through the hills and every 500 meters or so we stopped so I could take a picture of a billboard with a little child on it. All these children had blown themselves up at the prison. They were proud of this.
Back at the hotel when I woke up the door was ajar. Later on it turned out the tapes had been demagnetized. Obviously Israeli work. I was grateful to them. As scummy as Israel is, it doesnât blow up its own children and then looks at the camera wide eyed innocent pride: see the good that we did?
I could tell in Beirut, that it was heavily traumatized and already fearing what would come, what is the case now. I could also tell that it was once indeed something like the Paris of the Levant. Not quite Paris, of course. I mean not even close, but a nice, intellectually vibrant, artistic place. Hezbollahs presence has ruined that. And Hezbollahs presence is obviously a response to Israels existence but that doesnât make them any better.
On the current Israeli leadership, itâs interesting to watch documentaries on the last months and then death of Rabin. Netanyahus politics at the time. Rabin was a a proper hero of the six day war. A very hard man, but one with principles. In his last days, beleaguered by what he saw as fanatics who hated his attempts to reach a peace deal, he was filmed shouting, in panic: Judaisms is not racist! He wanted that side of Israel to prevail, The mild (relative to mid eastern terms) version. Was that possible? Apparently not.
So the war against Iran has dehumanized Israel. Fight monsters long enough, etc. I donât know what can be done. Or, I know, but I donât dare to say it. Lol. Like I know what the Germans ought to have done, instead of genocide, but I dont dare to say it. Its part of a stronger, realer world than what we have. In the same vein, I know what Trump needs to do to make America great again, and greater than it has ever been. But people arenât keen on real solutions as they are too earthy. And modern people really do not actually like the Earth. Thatâs the main issue. Also in Israel. The soil. People need to start focusing on what âHoly Landâ actually means.
It smells nice, that soil there. Invigorating. I once took a coke bottle of dead sea beach salt pebbles through customs, I dont think thats allowed but the officials kindly looked away.
Is this, love of soil, truly the actual soil, idealism? Its the remedy for idealism. Idealism is a cellophane shell. The vigor of the soil is infinitely more powerful, and the way the first Israelis treated that soil is what won them the worlds respect. Even if they find back that path, Itâll take a longtime to win it back - but the main issue is the respect they will win for themselves.
My uncle there says âa murmuring is going onâ.
Im sure heâs right. May it swell. The Greeks had a god called by, among many other names, âthe murmurerâ.
