Church of England drops the word "church"

New churches are dropping the word ‘church’, report finds (churchtimes.co.uk)

To summarise, when new churches are being set up they seem to do everything they can to avoid calling themselves churches.

As a Pagan, I don’t really have a stake in this, but it seems to me rather symptomatic of the times that we’re living in.

I don’t know, it seems redundant to call every church a church in the name. That would be like calling every grocery store a grocery store in the name. Feels like a mountain is being made of a mole hill. Or is it more like a mole hill is being made of a grain of sand? I don’t see why anyone should care about this.

Perhaps I’m reading too much into it. It just seems so typical of the Church of England, though.

So now it’s just called ‘Of England’??
