City folk of the cultural elitist variety are sociologists a

Reverse engineer psychology = the ends justifies the means. But, How you define the problem dictates how you define the solution. Thus, cultural elitists tend to come from city folk who consider themselves a part of the crowd, and sympathize with the problem. As sociologists they see culture as a cause and effect of spiritual satisfaction. The problem with cities, is that culture is lost. The reason for culteral practices are givens, without definition. They are taken for granted. Thus, in a mix and match culture, people tend to do what is easy for them. They cross out the cultural practices that take work, and then don’t compensate for the void.

Sanity is a question of your perception of reality. Cultural elitists don’t have a healthy perspective.

Einstein’s, “knowing what you don’t know,” philosophy, means understanding the possibilities of the facts, and not trying to make the facts fit a model. Especially when science cannot perceive facts past the mediocre technology & limited perspective that we have. To have a preconception is to blind yourself to the possibilities.

I see it all the time, The paranoid people reverse engineer government by the motto, “the end justifies the means.” Thus paranoid individuals want to make laws where the ends justifies the means. Yet, I prefer that nieveness and good intentions have gotten us this far.

Is it true though? By justifying the means, we teach character. But that is exactly what God is worried about,… our hearts. Perfect our core, and everything that stems from the core will also be pure of heart. The rest depends on how you sharpen your tool. Iron Sharpens Iron. Yet when you start with agendas or preconceptions, Iron dulls Iron. A wise man becomes a fool when he argues with a fool. So look for ideas that contradict your philosophy. Understand them. Don’t fear them.

The heart is more important then the mind. A sensitive heart knows Gods will ever so deeply. But for deep ideas to surface, you have to debate it out. Start from many perspectives trying to reach the same conclusion.

Here is where the proof lies… When a church divides, it is over significantly altering definitions. Now the answer isn’t church A or Church B. But C, all of the above,… but with a deeper then the perspective we have. Somewhere in metaphysics, spiritual pschology, and beyond.

Truth is relavant (not a matter of perspective). For many things are taken for granteed. Yet, when we define a missing variable, the variable becomes the rule. Thus we miss the core factors Christ has set out. And we need truth to contradict what we assume as full truth. Is your philosophy a variable, or factor, and not the full truth?

God wants out culture to be loving to one another. Not a beaurocrocy to do it for us. Do you expect the worse in people? Well beurocracies do. You jump through hoops to prove your not a liar, because your guilty till proven innocent. Kindness is a weekness that makes you taken advantage of. Yet if you yourself practice kindness, then you will find a respect.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7 (New International Version)Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
The thing is, in Bible times, love was an action verb. Like acts of love. Matthew 5:43-48 (New International Version)"You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Matthew 23:1-4 (New International Version)Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: "The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. They tie up heavy loads and put them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.

It takes a loving individual, who has been there before, to life up an ex-felon. But since that cannot be taught in universities (and cannot be taught without God’s renewal of the soul) it is largely ignored, and circumvented with clumsy, and lofty reasoning.

is unchanging,… only we have changed. For God first showed mankind the “law” to show us we cannot do it by our own will. Then Muslims are an example of the biasness (perversion of God’s intentions) by extreme law. But first Jesus convicted us, and then he showed TRUE HOPE. Christ introduced out Mighty Counselor, the Holy Spirit.

To meet this person,… all you have to do is read the Living Word, witch is the first form of God’s presence. And then God exists in the praises of his people. To just incite these will add perspective. But to contradict a lifetime of bad learned behavior, you must take devotions. Prophets and teachers merely add to the areas you may neglect. And a walk with Christ is never ending. To just take a vow isn’t it. To walk with Christ is devotion. To be set apart from those who do what is cheap and easy. Yet to learn what our spirits need to break free and have Heaven on earth. Just look for guidance from a counselor. A Mighty Counselor.

Although I believe in the spirit of what greate moral teachers taught, the fact that you would talk about christ on a philosophy forum is a little odd. Christianity has nothing to do with philosophy since philosophy rejects that which is not true, and the bible certainly is a work of fiction and literature and not of fact and reason.

Could you love a pedophile? Many ancient greeks were pederasts, were they evil? Many non-christian philosophers reject christian morality and it’s prescriptions…

The truth is as long as people accept and develop false morality from myths, legends and false gods, there can never be a loving society. People want what will fulfill them, there are many people out there that want things that go against another groups morality, what one group see’s as fine another group see’s as immorral.

If the christian god really wanted our culture to be a loving one, he wouldn’t have left it up to a bunch of backward men to write a big book, he would have revealed it to everyone instantaneously, or through something like a high-tech monolith that could not be tampered with. Ask yourself, given modern technology, if god is so smart and all powerful, why did he not use what we have now? or even future technology? Anything less is a half-assed attempt at conveying a message, the fact that we haven’t ‘received it’ means only one thing: That god is not god, god by definition cannot fail at any task he sets out to do, since he has perfect knowledge. This fact is lost on religious people unfortunately, it’s not logical at all.

If god exists, the only thing god has said is “Here’s a pen, write your own life!” and that’s it, i.e. we were born, and we have to figure it out on our own. As far as I’m concerned god is not something to be worried about, since all of our ancestors gods are fictions and misrepresentations of nature.

How could you unify islamics, judeism, and all the other religions out there? If god wanted the world united he would have to provide an absolute standard to compare truths against falsehoods and give his subjects minds capable of grasping it withou error… this world does not reflect the aforementioned facts I’ve just stated.

While I can’t agree with the OP, I can’t agree with you either SC.
A superior being would create friction and pain for lessons. Do you think love acceptance and tolerance can be learned by mere words? Think about raising a child. You cannot educate a child with words only they must experience life, the good and the bad. To keep a child from bad weakens their mind and abilities. They could not cope with the world or even the universe.

Did I ever say that love means tolerance? No, that is a california made definition. I can believe that sin can overwhelm a person till they are a slave to it. In this, any sinner is a slave to sin. I would love them if I gave them help in spite of their sin. I would love them if I understood their sin, and spoke life into their soul, and raised them up out of sin.

Luke 11:9-13 (New International Version)
"So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

“Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”

For if a child asks for candy, a good parent will give him fruit. In such, pray for your enemies for 30 days (inciting the name of God and Jesus). Your prayers will start as curses, but God’s presence will teach you to speak love into their life. This is the proof of God.

WHO IS GOD?

Exodus 3:14 (New International Version)God said to Moses, “I am who I am”* . This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I AM has sent me to you.’ "

  • Or “I will be what I will be”

How many people say they know God? Cinical comedians think they know God enough to say, “God isn’t real, else God would do what I think God would do.” And TV and holywood give this viewpoint respect. And the bad is considered good.

And herasies in the church have started when intellectuals have tried to define God.

John 9:41 (New International Version) Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.

Luke 12:54-59 (New International Version)Interpreting the Times
54He said to the crowd: "When you see a cloud rising in the west, immediately you say, ‘It’s going to rain,’ and it does. And when the south wind blows, you say, ‘It’s going to be hot,’ and it is. Hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky. How is it that you don’t know how to interpret this present time?
“Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right? As you are going with your adversary to the magistrate, try hard to be reconciled to him on the way, or he may drag you off to the judge, and the judge turn you over to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison. I tell you, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.”

Meaning, Don’t expect universities to superimpose right and wrong down on you. Be not impressed with your own knowledge that you may think you can obtain “god like” knowledge. Instead take cues from God, and contribute your knowledge to God, that your doubters may look to God for perspective. Do not depend on science’s rigidness to explain the fluidness of spirituality. Philosophy is the gap between religion and science. Philosophy doesn’t reject God,… but puts a new perspective on God. Thus the definitions change accordingly.

Luke 12:39-40 (New International Version) 39But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have let his house be broken into. 40You also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

Luke 14:25-35 (New International Version) The Cost of Being a Disciple
25Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: "If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
"Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’

"Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

"Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile; it is thrown out.
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”

Disernment is letting the Holy Spirit speak to your the multi-facits of the word of God. Then applying it to where, and who, it is needed.

For God sends his rain on the just and unjust the same. In spite of our arrogance, we have recieved God’s favor as a country. Turn our arrogance against God, and we will lose grace.

You see Jesus had every one of us in his heart when he spoke. Thus he spoke with many levels of understanding. Mostly plainly, but to our audiances concerns as much as the biblical audiances concerns. Luckly the soul is the same yesterday, today, and always. Yet our perception (culture) has changed. AND GOD HASN"T CHANGED.

Hide God’s word in your heart,… not your mind. Big differance that is easy to see as long as you don’t overintellectualize every emotion. Then we glorify university professors, and try to add up to their hollier then tough perception, and errase the soul. We become spiritually dead. This perspective will vastly alter how we “take” everything in life.

Reject all compensations. To compensate is to accept fault, and try to balance it out with reverse biasness. To become calloused or give up is to swallow apin into your soul. To become desesitized. Psychology today overintellectualizes desensitization and calles it maturing.

But to accept one “white lie” is to ignore learning a tactfull way. This is because we are selfcentered and nature. We see though our eyes, and to say, “well, if I tell him the truth, he’ll react badly.” Is really saying, “I don’t know a good way to tell him.” So we innitually blame them, when it’s our lack of love and persistance that is the problem.

If we cannot handle the small truths, how on earth can we handle the big truths. You see You cannot even see what field the answer lies in,… let alone the gps location. So we compensate with manipulating the truth. Doctor it up to reach the audiance. The lack of integrety will be your downfall.

The first compensation for progress in the greedy 80’s equals the fall we have seen in the hebrew year of sewing and reaping (2008). Bush just added fuel to the fire. But it was his foundation that was faulty.

Proverbs 1 (Amplified Bible)
7The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning and the principal and choice part of knowledge [its starting point and its essence]; but fools despise skillful and godly Wisdom, instruction, and discipline.

10My son, if sinners entice you, do not consent.

18But [when these men set a trap for others] they are lying in wait for their own blood; they set an ambush for their own lives.

22How long, O simple ones [open to evil], will you love being simple? And the scoffers delight in scoffing and [self-confident] fools hate knowledge?

Open to evil means taking things at face value because it is easier.

29Because they hated knowledge and did not choose the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord,
30Would accept none of my counsel, and despised all my reproof,
31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way and be satiated with their own devices.

Proverbs 2 (Amplified Bible)
1MY SON, if you will receive my words and treasure up my commandments within you,
2Making your ear attentive to skillful and godly Wisdom and inclining and directing your heart and mind to understanding [applying all your powers to the quest for it];
3Yes, if you cry out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
4If you seek [Wisdom] as for silver and search for skillful and godly Wisdom as for hidden treasures,
5Then you will understand the reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of [our omniscient] God.

From the beginning God has reveared those with Godly disernment.
Proverbs 8 (Amplified Bible)
1DOES NOT skillful and godly Wisdom cry out, and understanding raise her voice?
2On the top of the heights beside the way, where the paths meet, stands Wisdom [skillful and godly];
3At the gates at the entrance of the town, at the coming in at the doors, she cries out:
4To you, O men, I call, and my voice is directed to the sons of men.
5O you simple and thoughtless ones, understand prudence; you [self-confident] fools, be of an understanding heart.
6Hear, for I will speak excellent and princely things; and the opening of my lips shall be for right things.
7For my mouth shall utter truth, and wrongdoing is detestable and loathsome to my lips.
8All the words of my mouth are righteous (upright and in right standing with God); there is nothing contrary to truth or crooked in them.
9They are all plain to him who understands [and opens his heart], and right to those who find knowledge [and live by it].
10Receive my instruction in preference to [striving for] silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold,
11For skillful and godly Wisdom is better than rubies or pearls, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
12I, Wisdom [from God], make prudence my dwelling, and I find out knowledge and discretion.
13The reverent fear and worshipful awe of the Lord [includes] the hatred of evil; pride, arrogance, the evil way, and perverted and twisted speech I hate.
14I have counsel and sound knowledge, I have understanding, I have might and power.
15By me kings reign and rulers decree justice.
16By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges and governors of the earth.

Yet, God also wants responcibility to be in our own hands. We are witnesses to our own demize. That is God’s will. Fight all you want, and all you are doing is testifing to God. But look onto your FATHER with reverance, KEEP KNOCKING, KEEP CALLING, and all things will be given unto you. And I assure you God does do miricules today. But to testify to God’s power, and not to be confused with mans will.

Proverbs 11
1A FALSE balance and unrighteous dealings are extremely offensive and shamefully sinful to the Lord, but a just weight is His delight.
2When swelling and pride come, then emptiness and shame come also, but with the humble (those who are lowly, who have been pruned or chiseled by trial, and renounce self) are skillful and godly Wisdom and soundness.

You may form a world where all your needs are filled,… but you will be spiritually discontent without God,… and your actions will prove it. But your science will teach you that this is noraml and to be expected. You are so used to engeneering your own world, that you cannot see outside your rigid constructs. ANd that makes you foolish.

PlatoSaysGod,

You have some inciteful thoughts. It is apparent you have knowledge of the Bible. Where (if I may ask) or how did you come to your thinking at present? Philosophical discussion is a good vehicle for thought as long as your heart filters what your mind processes…more especially where God is concerned.

I would like ask a favor of you. Would you please read my submittal "Logic and reason will not explain God’ and give me your thoughts on it? I would appreciate your take on it? Here is the link to it:

Those who fear God truely don’t know God. Read the Bible daily (1/2 hour in the morning (sticking to the words of Jesus preferably)) this is called the presence of God as the living word.

Praise the Lord Jesus anytime your peace is stolen. This will give you perspective. God exsists in the praises of his people. And when I broke my leg, I just said, “ohh praise God,” instead of cursing, while I was on the way to the hospital, and I was filled with peace, & trust in the doctors & in my future.

I can show you that every problem you have with Christians is talked about in the bible,… and those Christians need someone to wake them up from that blinding self-rightous assumption. We are all children of God, and we all need to grow. Even you

When authority makes a rule, you have to add up to their expectations of standards. Too many people debate the rules & but fail the reason. For the mere wording of the rule has reason.

If people would be relaxed when they drive, you’d see a different style of driving. To get people in a relaxed mood,… all they have to do is submit to authority.

At 60mph, it takes 2 hours of speeding 10mph to save 20 minutes. And, if they were courteous drivers, and anticipated the problems of the road… Then they wouldn’t tailgate, and have a correct reaction distance. And would also leave plenty of room for merging. But for every one person who speeds, two more think they have to do the same thing, else are being cheated.

People have this socialist/communist attitude that seems very high school to me. Like they are still trying to fix/live the faults of high school morality.

Authority needs to present the higher standard to live up by. Just think, God makes ideals to live up to,… which “scientific mind-sets” use extreme examples to create “banner-flag” rules of exception. Now everyone thinks they are an exception to the rule.

Exception to the rule… A cooperate authority cost me my job & I can’t afford a lawyer. So theft is vigilante justice?

Wrong… If corporations are unreasonable, all we need is some truth in advertising. Some way to show people who they really are. The problem is, if you question authority, you cannot lob lofty accusations. It is better to say less then what happened, then to exaggerate to stress felt importance. It is better to state how their actions were confusing and lacked people skills, then to take how you feel and add actions.

Authority sees people as unreasonable. If all they see is the extreme circumstances, then they have no realistic basis for change. It is unreasonable to suffer the many for the few. You must lift up the few to the many. Because of that, the whiners take up every victim circumstance and paint themselves with it.

Authority merely needs the Bible’s rule,… “A good ruler must first be a good servant.”
Make a good product & pick a salary. If your product is truly good, then truth will prevail (if truth is respected). Truth isn’t respected because of lofty claims & the attitude that people are unreasonable thus we must treat them like a commodity (trade out people like people repaint their house). People would be reasonable if the ideals behind the rules were presented. If the facts that promote claims were shown first.

And following the driving rules will teach you responsible time management & thus how to find driving more relaxing. Relinquish control over to authority, & authority then can add up. And also remember the ultimate authority… God the Father.

Biting off more then you can chew. This usually means not having the ability to recognize core fundamentals that drastically redirect the agenda.

Authority can’t admit they are wrong. The image authority tries to represent is at fault. They want the power of ideals. In this they do whatever it takes to look like an upstanding character who doesn’t make mistakes. But if you do make mistakes, being responsible means first admitting you are wrong. Then apologize; which means to explain. Thus, state your intentions, then admit what you have learned. THEN, if & when you can, right your wrongs. This is the accountability people desire, and the laws reflect.

The level of truth you give, is the level of response you prompt.
Darkness hides from the light. If you practice integrity on the smallest levels, then you will have nothing to obstruct you on the bigger levels. People respect truth… & will adapt to it. Command respect by giving respect. Do not live in fear of the exceptions to the rule. They need to be delt with on the level they are at.

By respecting the validity in people claims, you will see where they are coming from, and what they need to learn. We are all the same in the soul & prompting rules from this perspective will unite people. We aren’t united as a country because the higher standard isn’t presented.

.
.
.
Rules are made to get people to respect the circumstances. First you must have respect for those you rule.

Another word for respect is consideration. Question athoreties consideration,… along the proper lines of feedback. Respect their ability to make mistakes & their ability to learn from them.

Fear is a lie. To say that “I can’t” or “I won’t” is your problem. But I will offer all the help you need when you want to get it done.

I can show you that every problem you have with Christians is talked about in the bible,… and those Christians need someone to wake them up from that blinding self-rightous assumption. We are all children of God, and we all need to grow.

Well, I see you’re proseltyzing on multiple threads here, aren’t you?

Did you think adding “Plato” to your name makes what you write sound a little weightier than most run-of-the-mill religious trolling?

PlatoSaysGod,
I see we may not be having a conversattion here, so thank you for your time anyway.

Lies be they ideas or beliefs will deny you your place in this perfect creation.

Even if the heart could think, why would the heart say one thing and the mind say another. That would mean you are psychotic.
The only thing doing any thinking is the mind.
“thought” is wonderful thing but question it.

nay,… don’t put words in my mouth. Arrogance at it’s best. Don’t belittle my words with a game (game = overintellectualization of emotion). I do things because of realistic and grounded reasons. You argue my grounding for my viewpoint. Well here it is. I am bombarded with laws and schools of thought every day that contradict my beliefs. I am merely debating to see if anyone can add factors to widen my perception. Maybe even open doors for different conclusions. And I offer the same to others.

Don’t hate me because I make more sence then absent minded science. Don’t hate me because I don’t take everything at face value. I see that the cause and effect goes deeper then any microscope can see.

PS, I changed my name not to manipulate others. That may be the reason you’d assume anyone would change their name. But that’s what you see in life. I’d almost say that makes you a good democrat. (it’s not limiting free speech, it’s educating the nieve (people are sheep anyways right?) But then republicans jumped in with that “friendly fire” word game too. :banana-dance: =it was a joke

What is your place? I do admit how oppression from certain churches has taken place. Read the book, “Chruch, why bother?”
Basically some kind of puritian apporach has allowed society to pass them by. Yet, the world wants to conform religion to them, and not add up to Gods standard because they don’t know how.

The spiritual gift of disernment. The five fold minestery church. The fact that the first churches appointed women in roles in the body… they all show how the bible takes precations to prevent some branches and evolutions. But then it goes on for so long, then people get a look at what they have becoeme and take steps to realize the problem and then fix the problem.

Do people give up on marriage and fail to see the beauties of it,… Thus they settle for second best?

When Eve was created from Adam, God took a part away from Adam to create Eve. Thus when the two join together in marriage, they feel wholer. So, as the two sexes have differences, they are drawn together, and complament each other with roles toward each other. In this, sex brings this bond to the next level. Without marriage, promescuity makes the bond, “take the parts that you want.” A soul tie is real. To bond with someone happens on a physical level, a spiritual level, and a mental level. To grow together depends on the sins that seperate you. To have psychology today magazine say promescuity takes a level of maturity, is to promote the downfall of society from the loss of family influance on humanity. To become spiritually dead, aka calloused, is a real threat. How many people have swallowed a bit of pain into their soul to become the conqures they are. The people who lead society just know the right things to use in us. It’s a form of carasmatic behavior that is really manipulation.

What reason can anyone truely have to doubt God?

No reason. I don’t hold such a doubt. I know of nothing to doubt.

Now, when it comes to you, if you know something that feels divine and real to you, then goody for you. But for the here and now, when you come to a web site to make pronoucements of truth that are true just because of your emotional certainty that there really is a supernatural deity who says so, and you do this so that you can earn your way into a post-mortem fantasy land that you’ve decided is real, then your statements are fair game. It’s the natural way of things. In other words, proseltyzer types are welcome to revel in fantasies of the supernatural-as-real (that, oddly to others of us, apply only if and when you accept them as such) until you barge into the realm of reason and try to turn that realm, which is quite revered on ILP, into Alice’s world.

Now on the other hand, if you want to deal in the aforementioned realm of reason, feel free. But you’re likely going to get hung up on the dead-guy-comes-alive thing, because that requires up front leaving reason behind, then following it up with ‘well, I believe in an irrational thing, but I do so rationally’. The point gets made, although it’s occasionally painful to read chapters of that ongoing story on here. But I figure such suffering is undergone for something much greater than I’m thus far privileged to behold. Or not.

Anyway, I thought that virtual support for such a belief is what Christian web sites were invented for. Although granted, you get no conversion points there, so I’ll give you an ‘A’ for effort.

Yours truly from the city,
Ingenium

Way out here at the edge is my place.
The place is absent of unfounded beleives, a place of absolute inner personal freedom, a place free of tethers on the mind- be they tether imposed by society or thoughts that occur and are taken for truths. Many concepts(ideas) are passed from generation to generration that are taken as true but which in fact have no basis of truth. “thought” is wonderful thing but question it. or let it be a tryrant.
