I invite anyone to make a poem following these rules . . .
I call it “Ruleset 1”
-
1st line must be exactly 3 syllables.
-
Last line must explain picture x.
-
Poem must end with picture x
-
2nd line must be a quote.
-
2nd line must be followed by picture y
-
picture y must be related to 1st line
-
There can be no more than 5 lines
8 ) x is metaphore or “hidden truth” demonstration for y
-
second line is related to picture x OR picture y.
-
Each line can have no more than 10 syllables.
You can make a different ruleset if you want, and see how others do that one.
The Green Mile

“School is a twelve-year jail sentence where bad habits are the only curriculum truly learned.”
– John Taylor Gatto

Okay new rule. Break all the rules.
Ah hell someone delete this.

Herpes Simplex
“O’er ladies lips, who straight on kisses dream, which oft the angry Mab with blisters plagues, because their breaths with sweetmeats tainted are.”

It would be worth it
even if
it meant eternity in hell.

The green mile is four syllables as well.
No . . . that’s debatable.
But I should have allowed for like 20 syllables at least in the line.
Anyways, I’m getting at a “poem” guide in the manner of media options rather than mere words. The rules are completely arbitrary.

Pony Express
“Do not look a gift horse in the mouth.”
(Tarpan)
My delightful horse
bores me
and I pity it.

At the zoo.
“A lion may gorge itself and eat up to 30 kg in one sitting…”

Don’t
feed
the lions.

This part made me laugh. Not sure why.
