The facts look very different when you look into them rather than just posting headlines from suspicious sources. Japan is slightly expanding and reorganising its foreign‑worker and resident systems because of labour shortages and population decline, but from a very low baseline and with tight controls.
Recent policies emphasise stricter screening, tougher action against overstayers, and more demanding conditions for permanent residence and naturalisation, alongside limited integration support (language, civic‑rules education).
