Cultures and individuals

futureone:

Peter (Kropotkin) admits he “doesn’t give a shit” about ANY culture. It seems these
types don’t value culture at all, which explains their
“melting-pot of civilization” philosophy.

K: this is one of those "true’’ statements that mean nothing…
As I have stated many times before, context is everything…
to those who constantly harp about ‘‘Culture’’ they are
clueless… for example, I have asked on multiple
occasions for a definition of ‘‘White Culture’’
and only one person even attempted to answer that,
with a thought about ‘‘Greek’’ culture being ‘‘White’’
culture… again, ‘‘true’’, but lacking context…

The problem with this idea of ‘‘CULTURE’’ is that it
misses the basic idea of how reality works…
We don’t deal with ‘‘Culture’’ as is, on a daily or
even by the minute basis…and let me spell this out…

I work in a Grocery store… and the location makes
all the difference in the world… I work on the S.F
peninsula, working in my store are dozens of
different Nationalities/cultures…
I am one of the very few who work in the Front End
of the store that isn’t a native born Spanish speaker…

But not only do we have dozens of employee’s that
are not of the ‘‘American Culture’’, our customers
are from all over the world… I probably deal
with 20 plus different nationalities with our customers…
and according to the ‘‘Culture’’ theory, I am also dealing
with 20 plus different ‘‘Cultures’’ every day…
but that isn’t how this works…

a black man approaches the Self-Check out machine…
I don’t see his ‘‘culture’’ be it hip-hop or Rap or street
gangsters’ mentality, I see a person who wants to buy
his lunch… when I look at a person, I don’t see
his/her culture… I see a person…
and therein lies the problem with seeing everyone in terms
of ‘‘Culture’’… by doing so, we deprive that person of being
a person… they are now a representative of that ‘‘Culture’’
and are a reflection of that ‘‘Culture’’ but they are no longer an
individual with individual needs and wants…
WE broadly stereotype people when we see them as
a ‘‘Culture’’ instead of seeing them as an individual…

So, when I see a person and stereotype them as part of
Mexican or black culture, I am practicing bigotry and
prejudice… and that is the problem with dealing with
people on the basis of ‘‘Culture’’ we see them in our
minds with a cultural bias instead of seeing them
as individuals with their own needs and wants…
we stereotype people when we see them as a culture
instead of seeing them as individuals…

And this is the basis of being ‘‘WOKE’’… instead of
seeing people as a culture, we see people as
individuals, with their own needs and wants…

This is a philosophical shift in our vision of people
We no longer see people or think of people in
terms of culture, but in terms of being an individual…
who may or may not be part of a specific culture…
and we are not reacting to them as part of a ‘‘culture’’
the black man approaching the SCO terminals,
he may be a university professor who speaks 12
languages… but I don’t react to him as a black man
in a black ‘‘Culture’’, he is simply a guy wanting
lunch…and should be treated as such…

to engage in this idea of ‘‘Culture’’ is to deny
individuals their own individuality …

Do you think American means white, or what?

Culture of no culture.

You said it feels like there is no culture. That’s because it is no culture. Culture of no culture.

Capitalism. Tower of Babel. All united. A box store on every corner that looks the same as every other box store on every corner.

The ideal modern citizen, no ancestry, no past. A social construct with no physical meaning, a number, an idea.

to engage in this idea of ‘‘Culture’’ is to deny
individuals their own individuality …

Culture is what gives existence meaning. It brings happiness to everybody. When people see a movie with a black protagonist, they are excited about black culture. They want to see a black person in a movie as part of black culture. They do not want to see a black person saying that race is a social construct and that black culture is a myth and then discussing intersectionality and post-marxist social theory*.

*it could be added to the movie as the “nerd” character, as a joke, 4th wall breaking, or intentional cringe, etc.

They want to hear Lebron James say that he is proud to be black. People want Lebron James to be black and celebrate his blackness. They want to absorb the black culture atmosphere of Lebron James. They don’t want to hear him go on post-marxist social tangents about how black culture should not exist, or that all forms of culture are harmful, or that cultures don’t exist.
