Yes, but most people on Facebook are only friends with people they’ve met face to face first. The rest of the web allows for strangers to talk about things of interest to them that none of their friends or family would even entertain. That’s the trade off.
I can’t be intellectual with anybody I know on facebook.
Maybe it’s a person on a bicycle who’s lost his/her sense of autonomy - you can see that there are not handle bars with which to steer.
But if the person is strong and grounded enough, perhaps his legs will steer him in the right direction…get him where he wants to go. just a thought…
Or maybe it’s just someone doing wheelies…wheeeee
I was stalked on Facebook one time but in general I use it for the same thing I do here, meeting new people and having intellectual (?) discussions, lol. There are loads of special interest groups you can join.
Ah, you just cannot do that. A symbol is like a dream. It can never be fully penetrated or completely understood. It’s like that particular something in the dream which stands for something else.
A symbol is like a never-ending drama on the stage of life or within our minds…it is flux…it is like the wave that rushes to shore than rushes back out to sea again.
You might make a thread from your symbol. It would be highly interesting to see what lurks within.
I like 3. You look focused and reflective. And you are pretty. It’s true, though, not many people use their photos as their avatars. I’ve posted photos here before in the photo thread, but never for my avatar. I don’t know, I guess I don’t want my picture everywhere I post all over the site. It feels like too much.
Although I can see the appeal of close up of #3, I like the first one better. There is a sense of dynamism about it that catches one’s attention. (the framing in this photo gives it more layers and depth, drawing the viewers attention to you)
P.s.I like your hair down. You have beautiful (red?) hair.
I was going to say this was a blantant attention whore thread, but then you said your blind. Still is a attention whore thread though… just a little more excusable. I personally dislike the idea of people using their own pictures of themselves taken in cute poses as a means of getting people to like them. It’s the substance of their thought that matters.
Do you have any sense of what a Alpacha looks like?
I just wanted to let you know that Contra’s avatar is a picture of him with a cat on his head.
I would have to say that you should use either the first or second picture. In my personal opinion, and with all due respect, I believe that you appear too thin in pictures 3-5. With respect to picture six, I would look at that picture and be confused as to why someone would want me to look at a picture of his/her backside.
I would say that it is unusual for an individual to use a picture of himself/herself for an avatar photo unless it is a photo with an obvious intent of being cute, amusing or reflecting some particular personality quirk of some kind. It is out of the ordinary for an individual just to use a regular picture of himself/herself.
Best is probably #5, for this forum, as our stupid male brain cannot think well when it sees cute female image.
Although I found your hair on #5 to be pretty and attractive, it’s softer on male brain handicap.
By seeing, we can be blinded, which isn’t unpleasant in this case, but I’m not sure if we should be rejoiced about it.
I’d vote ‘none of the above’ if there was that option.
I dunno, what are you trying to achieve…? And the other burning question: “If you’d been an ugly fat dwarf, would you have ever made this thread…?”
Personally, I think naked avatars of all members [hah-geddit] should be compulsary for participation in the site. “When everyone is naked, no-one is” etc. Or was that a disney-film…? I forget.
I also think ya’ll need to get over making judgements about a person just because they like to use their own picture as their avatar. Maybe that’s just because I use my own picture as my avatar, but either way. It’s really dumb to get all bitchy about that.
