I would need someone to teach me how to play that game. Ever since the very first one, I never had a clue what I was doing. Loved reading about the primitive tech and diplomacy, etc, but never had a clue how to succeed in the game 
All 4x games are based on the 4 principle rules of Explore*,* Expand, Exploit, Exterminate.
Thats pretty much all there is to it.
Each culture has it’s own different bonuses.
You pick which ever suits your playstyle the most and you roll with it.
I usually play turtling in most strategy games.

I think it was just the mechanics of it that confused me, never got into it properly. Wonder if it will run on my laptop? Doubt it, probs needs dedicated accelerated graphics, but who knows. I have steam, maybe I should check it out.
Is turtling building solid defences to keep out invaders?
Civ 4 is old af. You could probably run it on windows 98
EDIT: Almost. its windows 2000/XP and above.
