It looks like the Democrats could well win by large margins.
It’s possible that Obama could win by a landslide,
The Democrats could have a filibuster proof majority in the Senate,
They would be able to appoint 2 or 3 (or 10) far leftist Justices to the Supreme Court
I’m poor, you see, and don’t have a health insurance. Neither does my 50 year old father. I’d really like it if healthcare became a right, and food and oil prices went down to Clinton era. When I first came to america, with 50 bucks I could go to any grocery store and buy enough food to last the family for a couple of weeks. Now, with 100 dollars, I can’t even make it for a week. So yea…I think it’s a good thing. Maybe Obama will even get the rich to pay the same tax for social security as those who make under a 100 grand do, so even I can count on some security when I’m 90.
Despite what the Republicans are trying to portray, I don’t think an Obama presidency would ruin our nation. Obama is an intelligent guy, and I doubt even with a democratic majority in Congress and a liberal supreme court majority that decisions would be made that were so poor, it would devastate us.
As Colin Powell, as well as several news organizations have mentioned in their backing of Obama, he is a thoughtful man who thoroughly dives into researching subjects he is unfamiliar with. He surrounds himself with intelligent people who fill in the gaps of his knowledge and experience.
Overall, I think he has more potential to be one of the greatest presidents in modern times, moreso than McCain, but only time and an Obama presidency would be able to tell.
The truth of the matter is, the GOP have been a resounding failure
running our country over the last 30 years and especially over the last 8 years.
From Ronald Reagan to Bush Jr., the GOP have lurched from one failure to another.
From Iran-contra to the saving and loans fiasco of the 80’s to the unrelenting
disaster that is George bush Jr. the GOP have failed. The one bright spot in the last
30 years has been the Bill Clinton years. During his presidency, we had peace and prosperity,
not the economic turmoil and uncertainty that we have today. You can point out a
dozens successes during his years and you can’t point out a dozen successes during the GOP
years since Reagan.
So vote GOP if you still want the gloom and doom, fear politics that has the
hallmark of the GOP over the last 8 years. As for myself, I want a better future
and voting for the Democrats means a better future for me and my children.
Both of whom were pretty awesome judges. Still a little too rightwing for my tastes, but what can you expect from Clinton? What this country needs is a return to the sanity of the Stone court. Obama won’t take us there (unfortunately), but he does represent a (small) step in the right direction.
Funny you’d start at the end of Carter’s colossal foul up give no credit to Reagan for straightening it out. And forget that the Democrats have been running Congress for the greater part of that time. Blind faith sucks.
