Free will relieves “God” of being the cause of all bad. If God is the all knowing, loving, plan-making creator of all, then surely he is also responsible for all bad too, no? Enter stage free will, which means it wasn’t God that caused you to do bad, it was your own doing, because God GAVE YOU free will. He allowed you to make decisions. Pretty generous of him, don’t you think? Oh sure, you could claim God was the cause of all good and bad, but that wouldn’t be good for the tax free God business. More people means more money so ya do what ya has to do, in the name of CASH!
God is responsible for all the good things that happen. If you do something evil it is not caused by God’s doing, it is because he gave you free will and YOU decided to do something evil.
It is a way of shirking responsibility by claiming God gave you the freedom to do as you please. If you do something evil it is YOU that is responsible, not God. See? That way God is not the one responsible for your evil doings.
It would be bad for business if God was the cause of all evil too. People like warm comfy loving feelings, not cold evil hate.
God = Good
Devil = Bad
If it is good it is because God did it. If you do something bad it’s YOUR FAULT, not God’s.
It’s a warm comfy feeling, don’t ask questions, and don’t forget to give 10% at church.
If there is no free will then God caused you to do evil things.
A God that causes people to do evil things must be an evil God.
Do you want to believe in an evil God or a loving God?
If you don’t want to believe in an evil God then you are probably like most people.
Most people not wanting to believe in an evil God means most people won’t go to church, and won’t give their money to the church.
Cash is the name of the game. No cash then it’s game over!
If there is a God as described by CHristians then free will is impossible, or irrelevant, since an all knowing being has to know all the actions you are going to take long before you were born and as a creator, created each of us in the knowledge that we would be good or evil and die as sinners or saints.
Evil is not a force of nature. It is an abstract noun, and is a value judgement.
If Prince Harry kills an insurgent then that is evil for the Afghan family for whom that man is a hero; but to the British Army Harry is doing good works.
Evil is relative. Good is that which pleases us; evil that which pleases us not. And that which is evil to me is not necessarily evil to you.
Evil is a term used to describe actions (or thoughts) that society has determined to be unacceptable.
An example of evil is to kill your newborn baby and throw it in a dumpster because you would rather go dancing at the club.
No free will means God caused you to kill your newborn baby.
Having free will means you are responsible for your actions which caused the death of your baby.
Clear, or do you need more examples of evil that God does vs evil that you do?
My question to you is can you give some examples of the evil that God is responsible for?
So when God gave you free will, he gave you the freedom to choose between doing things that society deems unacceptable or not? That seems lacking to be Frank Lee.
On the other hand, what is this Society you speak of? How do they arrive at acceptable or not?
If the presumption is God is responsible for everything that happens, then clearly God caused you to kill your baby. Some call that an evil God, and some may actually praise God for getting rid of newborn trash.
“Society” is the “norms” of groups of human beings and how they interact and think about different subjects. There are many societies of humans on this planet, all having different beliefs and commonly accepted “norms.”
In the grand scheme of the universe there is no good or evil, there is just actions. The acceptance or not of actions will vary from society to society.
The universe doesn’t give a flip. It is impossible to break the laws of physics, and those are the “norms” of the universe. Kill your baby and throw it in a dumpster? Yep, the laws of physics were obeyed.
