What have you to offer to the world?
Is it love or hate?

“Only Love can conquer hate” -Marvyn Gaye
Hello ditto.
St John says love and fear are opposites;
and Scripture scholars have told me “hate” means “to love less”.
Perhaps I offer the world both love and hate.
“Judge a moth by its candle.” – Rumi
It’s a quote I got from Stephen King. Most of the monsters in his stories have really just one problem: that they never learned to love. If you can’t learn to love anything, then is life worth living? Is the degree of love that one gives to the world, regardless of the object of love, not the most important measure of the greatness of one’s life?
Former question: I think it is in love that we find meaning in life.
Latter question: I’d say no. Compare Alexander the Great, loved conquering, great things done in the world. I think greater is the vowed nun who does nothing externally “great” but has love in everything she does for the Highest Cause. “To do small things with great love.” This is, of course, a religious perspective.
Unfortunately, the life of the conqueror will be shown in more theatres.

Interesting!
I feel that in some ways, you offer the world nothing, you don’t matter. But it takes you to post this topic, so I gather everything. Funny. The mystery lies in love, hate, and everything inbetween. So you can only answer this question for it to have meaning in your life. I feel that in my life, it takes great hate, to have great love.
Smile, and live life with every breath, my advise to you, your answer will come in time, as will mine.
What do you mean by this? ‘‘your answer will come in time’’
None of what he said made much sense.
Is it that simple? Ditto, how did you wind up in the ‘top-100’ club, anyway? Is there some post somewhere that I missed? Please direct me to your most exciting post at ILP.
lol
When I feel like it, I will do some research and take the time to make high quality, content rich posts in that forum. Until then, I prefer to make simpler posts here. Do you have a problem with that?
No dude, but I have a problem with YOU, dude.
sorry, I was sleepy at the time. It all made sense then, but now that I’m awake, I have no clue. I think what i meant was everyone has to find their own answers, and part of life is finding them. So it takes time, I don’t know. Also I do feel that the topic is a mystery, because as a whole, your death and my death will mean nothing, and mostly wont be looked at by anyone, so what you offer doesn’t matter. But the world is all these no ones and forgotten people, so it wouldn’t be the same without you and me, so what you offer does matter. That makes some sense to me, tear me up on this if you want. I’m going back to bed. goodnight!
Hey ditto, ditto! ditto, ditto, ditto, ditto!!

“The hand that rocks the cradle, rules the world.” In other words: Those shaping the minds of the children are shaping the world.
What have you to offer to the world?
Is it love or hate?
Hate is not the opposite of love, apathy is. [ it takes great hate, to have great love – HellWizard ] (I wouldn’t use the word ‘have’.)
I offer hate for the things about the world that I hate, and love for the things about the world that I love – if I hate it, I will not perpetuate it, and if enough people hate it, it will go away… if I love it, I will perpetuate it, and if enough people love it, it will remain.
Things I want to stay that could go away if I and/or enough other people don’t love them:

…don’t have time to make those lists at the moment [ minds to shape ]
i think the concept of love and hate is far to dualistic. i believe that nothing is emidiately loved…you grow to love someting…and even then how can you define something as love…a question that i doubt can ever be answered.
in the end this post gives nothing to the tread but i felt the need to put in my own two cents…sorry
