There are changing patterns and those which repeat or match like ‘memories’ in the brain, but is there an actual recording of something in your mind? [as opposed to pattern matching/mimicking]. What about in the world too, when the universe expires is there a recording of history somewhere out there? […or just a lack of patterns].
Kinda not worth doing any heroics or finding reasons for the world, if its not going to get remembered. Potential contains or is akin to a memory though, unless everything’s a mimic? How does one thing then mimic another thing without knowing and remembering it etc etc…
I suppose the answer is that it doesn’t matter. Perhaps it is better if there is no memory of things.
The question remains whether or not ‘memory’ of some kind does exist though, if it is inherent in things? How can information transfer without a memory. How can you have info without that involving memory, a repetition or mimicry et al requires that something is recalled, no? a copy requires a template.
Wouldn’t the medium to house memories be the determining factor? Say a memory is a specific pattern of energy that the medium is able to process again and again for an infinite amount of times and at lightning speeds we cannot detect. For me, emotions cement memories more vividly and accurately, but even then streaming consciousness can get muddled.
I think it would not be existential in terms of energy etc, ~ consider when the universe is done [or before it happened]. I can’t imagine that history never happened [after the end], nor can I imagine that existence began without there being the potential for it.

Huh? Energy exists, patterns exist, the medium exists, memories exist. What am I missing?
True yes. Well the ‘medium’ to house energies would be the deterministic value or property, I agree there. I am trying to get at what memory is deep down, for example in the Hindu tradition there is a thing called the Akashik book of records, and I would hope that when I die and the memories in my brain dies, there is something about reality which stores memory in the third party. The Egyptian book of the dead speaks a lot about restoring ones faculties, so I hope there would be a way. …though I’d like some to remain out of reach, that would be sick [in the bad way] if we all knew everything we ever thought about each other etc, especially as many memories are generated by the world and not us.
