Ecmandu, I realized upon waking why you were giving those horrific examples as evidence that self does not equal other. In a previous thread you said we have our own preferences. That does not change the fact that self equals other (with or without recognition). Recognizing that every self has their own preferences is actually an example of self equals other. Please reread all of my relevant posts with that in mind. Maybe then you’ll see why my requesting a song from you, dedicated to me, on the piano, was not me turning the other cheek. Just like you telling me you don’t want to control me was not you dismissing me.
