Dream Interpretation

I was wondering, if someone could interpret this dream I had:

I was walking through a dark forest, a very obscure forest that was only somewhat visible from the moonlight.
I was heading down a path, at the time I didn’t know where it was leading; but every step forward, towards this place was enervating. At the end of the path was a broken statue of a goddess and a woman with her daughter, both lying next to it, dead and mutilated. Very gory scene. After seeing this, a werewolf appeared and approached me.
Surprisingly, I was not afraid, even though it appeared like the fearsome beast it is. It looked me in the eyes, snarling, and thrashed me with
its claws. I fell to the ground, and it stood over me and said, " You are the Father ".
When it walked away, I began to turn into a werewolf myself.

What’s interesting is that when I was younger, I used to have consistent nightmares of a werewolf that would chase me. But in this dream,
I was not afraid, nor did I run away, and despite the ferocious appearance of the werewolf, it almost seemed like it was trying to save me or help me, but with a sort of harsh, tough love.

Not sure, if this dream just has to do with the fact that there was a bloodmoon recently and that Halloween is approaching, but for whatever reason,
this dream has really left an impression on me.

Dream iconography generally comes from the culture in which the subject is most immersed, adapted to the subject’s personal associations.
Nobody can interpret a dream accurately without knowing both culture and subject.
Mutilated corpses are practically inescapable in popular entertainment these days, so it’s a fairly routine symbol for anything bad that happened or might happen. The supernatural, especially zombies, werewolves and vampires, are a prominent feature of the entertainment marketed to youth - and have been for over a decade - so the werewolf is not a surprising character (unless you’re over 40.) It probably represents conscience (superego?). Dark woods (or hallways, or alleys, depending on your imaginative landscape) usually mean an imminent situation for which you are unprepared, or insufficiently prepared: it’s not necessarily a danger, but makes you nervous.
A very loose guess without knowing your character or circumstances: Something is coming up in the near future that will require you to be more competent and responsible than you’re used to. It’s not beyond your capability, but it’s a little bit daunting.

The dream seems pretty obvious to me but there are some interesting titbits.

Firstly, the dream indicates there’s something pretty sinister lurking in your psyche that you’re battling with. Many of us know this but this dream indicates that it’s much deeper than what you have acknowledged.

The werewolf is man morphed as beast. This man/beast has destroyed the statue – which seems to represent philosophy - and he’s slaughtered a woman and her child. When the werewolf confronted you, you weren’t afraid because, consciously or unconsciously, you knew who it was. It was you.

It seems to me that you manifested the dream to make you fully conscious of that which you already sense on a deeper level: the dark path that you’re going down may be feeding your lust for knowledge and power but frustration and anger are pushing you out of control. It’s probably frustration and anger coupled with the fear of not knowing where this could end up which has manifested into this dream.

Interestingly, the werewolf can only be killed by something silver (e.g. silver bullet). Silver represents the feminine, the goddess and moon energy. In your dream, the werewolf slaughtered the very things that could destroy it - all under a silver moon.

Most importantly, silver represents balance. Silver is, after all, a colour/tone that results from the balance of black and white (both of which have their own symbolism – ignorance/light, corruption/purity etc). If we move a silver object, the shadows and light move across its face. If it’s polished, it becomes a mirror.

The most arcane part of the dream is the part where the werewolf stood over you and said “You are the Father”. You’ve capitalized ‘Father’ so I assume you understood the sentence to mean something like: you’re ‘one with God’? I can’t comment on this because I don’t know how it was said. For instance, if was said that in a sarcastic way then the meaning changes. Either way, the last part of the dream seems to signify a) you have the creative power (the masculine Father energy) and b) you’ve seen where unbalanced power can take you.

When the werewolf walked away leaving you to decide, you turned into a werewolf - just another way of showing you who the werewolf was all along.

I’d take the message in this dream very seriously if I were you, Rage.
