“For if we have been planted together in the likeness of His death, we shall be also in the likeness of His resurrection.”
-Romans 6:5
Believe it or not, the above verse says it all. To be saved and exempt from Hell when you draw your last breath, you must be in the likeness of Jesus’ death, and in the likeness of His resurrection.
The most logical interpretation of that concept is that one must be an “identical twin” or doppelganger of a person Christ experienced being in His mind while dying upon the Cross, and in the three days prior to His resurrection. Beyond this, the only way to be “in the likeness of His death” is to be physically crucified, and it is impossible to be be “in the likeness of His resurrection” if you’re still alive.
The word “likeness”, you see, is key.
To be “in the likeness” = to be “in His likeness” = “to be a twin or doppelganger of Jesus Christ”
Not as a 33 year old Jewish male, but a doppelganger of something within His mind prior to His ascension to Heaven.
Or rather, someone.
That’s it, it’s that simple. And of course by understanding this “insane” concept you understand you have no human or earthly power to do this to yourself. Thus it must be God who does this.
Thus, it follows that Jesus Christ is not only a Person, but a state or condition of being “Jesus” in the sense of being in the state or condition of being in Christ’s likeness or bearing the form of something in Jesus’ mind.
The idea is strange enough. Salvation involves, therefore, objectively being in this state, as well as having faith one is in this state, was predestined to be so, and remains in this state until and after death.
