Epistemology is foremost about finding prediction methods

Hi friends,

I would like to discuss this hypothesis:

Epistemology is all about finding out the best prediction methods by viewing Humans as “bots” who continuously tries to guess the reality surrounding them?

This is based on the fact that as epistemologist we try to find out how our brain, locked inside the darkness of our skull, makes justified guesses and models about the reality surrounding us.

Please provide your opinion and how this model could be developed further as a community project.

Well first off… the brain is not locked inside the darkness of our skulls. Light enters through the pineal gland, which is why some see all manner of internal light shows when eyes are closed, which in turn helps us sense all manner of things.

The brain/mind, is not closed off to the outside world.

Thanks! The signals from the Pineal Gland are however not 100% reliable all the time and the reality you think you percieve is just a probabilistic hallucination created by your brain locked in the darkness of the skull. Since you do not have 100% reliable connections to reality and not 100% reliable interpretation methods your brain is always making
a guess.

vetenskapsteori,

Information isn’t routed centrally through the human pineal gland. Also, our skull protects our brain. If we expose our brain for too long, or injure it too much, we die. And it doesn’t help us sense or perceive better. Did you know that? If not, you’re being lied to. Very important, life-saving information is being intentionally withheld from you. Question the source.

So you are saying that we are not part of reality because we have a brain? Ok…

Verifying Our notions with Others solves the guessing game, but reality will always be a qualia, for Others aren’t Us… empathy/sympathy aside.

I understand that you are undertaking a project… sharpening One’s mind and wits is one way forward in (not transcending) but aligning more, with reality.

None of that is new news, but is always interesting to read none-the-less.
