Well, there comes a time when the player must take his final bow (deftly ducking the stage-manager’s hook) and let the curtain fall to leave the stage in darkness…
So now the girl with Jesus has suddenly lost grip of the concept of toughness in life… can’t say it’s an entirely negative thing, as can’t say that Christianity is all that bad.
The toughness in ILP has the same genisis everywhere else: ruthless power strives.
What? I dont understand…Tab is having a tough time in life and so he must leave a forum that discusses Thanksgiving recipes and Favorite movie quotes??? Huh? I know he doesn’t mean he wants to kill himself so I really dont get it…
What you don’t get is that a truely matured man takes even “playing” in life seriously like a child at play. I am of course quasi-quoting Nietzsche. In another word: ILP is taken as part of life. Cyperspace is not as insignificant as you sometimes would like it to be. If the feeling of power is reinforced, ILP gets affirmed; if not, then the cyperspace is condemned. It’s a natural self-defence mechnism of the ego, for the will. I’m only generalising of course.
If you look on the ‘ILP moderators’ thread on zeno’s forum (which you left some weeks ago) I think you’ll see a series of pretty frank comments by Tab on his dissatisfaction with ILP. I’mnot going to post a link because I’m sure you can find xenophillia easily enough…
What, what, what… girls, girls, girls… there are always a couple of girls asking ceaselessly mindless questions and raising minute issues in the seminars. I say they are lazy somehow, for I trust if they are in the university in the first place then their IQ wouldn’t be actually as low as it might seem. Mutatis mutandis for you, PhilosophyGirl. The simple trick is to simply: think harder. The more dilligent you will at least get something eventually, even if that means you’ll have to be content ending up as an immanuel kant. I fear that you are settling on bible merely because it “flows” like a romantic epic which soothes your lazy half just right.
I did know a few medical students (females) who were there simply so that a few years down the line they’d find a husband who earnt a lot but wouldn’t be around very much…
