While at the lake fishing a Native comes up to me asking me if I can give him some money. This would be fine if this were his first time asking me but being the 10th time he’s been bothering me with this I was starting to get fed up. I had given him 10-15 dollars worth of money in the past and saying that I don’t have any seems to have no effect on him he’ll sit there and beg and then leave and come back three more times during the day. Everytime I go to the lake he’s there bothering me. So anyways I make a deal that I’ll take him to get cheap gas on the reserve since its tax free and give him some money that I saved but he takes me 15 minutes away from the lake when he keeps saying that the gas station he knows of is just a few minutes away. Anyways of course its off the reserve and I have to pay full price for it. Then he says that he can get me shrooms if I want. I never had shrooms before but would like to try them so I go with him to his friends which is just a few minutes away only it turns out to be another 15 minutes away so I’m now half an hour away from the lake. We get there and he says thats his friend over there off in the distance on a farm house and wants me to give him 20 so that he can go get it for me but I insist on comming along. When we get there I see that his friend is in his 60’s and he goes up to this elderly guy and asks him if he has any shrooms. This guy doesn’t even know him and can’t figure out what he wants thinking he’s looking for someone but then relizes he wants shrooms. The elderly guy gets mad of course and tells him to leave saying he has nothing like that. Now I’m pretty mad at this point so I drive him another 10 minutes out in the boonies about 40 minutes away from his reserve where I leave him out there. So am I evil for doing this?
It reminds me of strangers talking to me in pubs. They never leave you alone and repeat the same good dam life storys over and over again.
I’d say your not evil, if you feel guilty over something it doesnt mean your evil or the deed was evil in-itself. It’s just a bad feeling over leaving him there but in time you’ll feel good because it was the right thing to do in that situation, and maybe now he’ll leave you alone.
I don’t know man this is hard. You left the dude 40 minutes away from the camp without anywhere to go and no transportation or anything. I mean granted he might be a bit wierd and odd but still man. You could have just at least been the better man and brought him back somewhere close. Or at least not get involved that much with him in the first place. It is not an easy call though. Then guy was kind of on your case too much. Just won’t stay away
