Genocide in Gaza? Part II

I have always seen confrontation as a kind of fight, which is also a word used in sporting competitions. You are right that people have lost the ability to confront, but that seems to be tied with the fact that many are mis- or uninformed. They know this in some way and notice when someone is informed.

I’ve recently had a “fight” with my brother who began posting uninformed statements on social media. We can all have different positions or perspectives, but what is provably false must be called out. Unfortunately, such differences of opinion are often accompanied by accusations, which do not assist the discussion.

Non-violent communication is possible. But it requires motivation to practice it. Why should we not want to hurt others?

We hold a lot back inadvertently yes?

.
Nothing I post is uninformed.
.
Why do you think that it is?

I find it intensely amusing how deeply you confirmed what I said up here:

He didn’t say he thinks your posts are uninformed. He said his brother was saying stuff that was uninformed. Unless you’re his brother, which would be one of the most surprising pieces of information I’ve learned recently, then he wasn’t talking about you when he said something was uninformed.

.
Stay amused ; )

side a: We have front row seats and witnessed it for ourselves.

side b: We’re obviously just making stuff up. It’s all propaganda.

There it is for you all cut and dried.

Problem solved everyone can go home now.

Do what works for you.

Do not dictate to others what they should do, in their circumstances.

.

I repeat:

Presumably because you inform yourself.

What is that?

Non-violent communication is still a possibility. Ghandhi and Martin Luther King both spent time in jail. For Ghandhi, any understanding of the sacred dharma that allows one to violate the dignity of another human being is a false understanding of dharma no matter how high the end or purpose for which it is done. He was convinced that commitments to violence and to human dignity were incompatible. He thought that one cannot use the one to promote the other. How could it be otherwise?

Am I supposed to hold those two, in high regard? …who else do you think I should add to that list? Nobody!

I don’t have a list, of idols.

The sentence “Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East” is perfectly accurate as long as you complete it…

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East… that is an apartheid state

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East… that uses white phosphorus on children

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East… that is on trial for plausible genocide at the ICJ

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East… that was founded on the ethnic cleansing of 750,000 people

Israel is the only democracy in the Middle East… that is considered to be above international law

Zionists think they’re the good guys, but Israel is the greatest force for evil in the world!(substack.com)

.
Israel either has something over America, or it is simply because the entire American power-structure is Jewish-heavy that this madness is allowed to continue.
.
…or it’s something else. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You be you, as you said. Ghandhi and MLK were martyrs— lights on the path of non-violence—the road not taken by the violent rulers of this world.

To spread peace we must be peace. When the mind is disturbed we have samsara not the other way around. Suffering comes to us mediated by the mind.

The first limb of meditation is non-violence. Violence through the body is the most obvious. Then there is violent speech. Violent thoughts like wishing someone ill is deeper still. Violence can be done by oneself or through others, or we can support others doing violence.

The causes of violence are first anger, Then there is delusion, fanaticism, convincing ourselves that we are right in pursuing violence. Greed is another source of violence, when others are perceived as obstacles to what we want.

There are many sources and ways to be violent but only one way to be non-violent—being peace. Telling the truth brings peace. Control of the passions brings peace. Being satisfied with what you have brings peace. Not stealing brings peace. These preliminary practices enable one to meditate deeply. Then we can still the mind and body. The cessation of the movements of the mind. The chatter quiets down. Suicides often shoot themselves in the head. because intuitively they know it is the mind that is disturbing their peace.

One who does not control the mind is their own worst enemy. One who controls the mind is their own best friend. They have peace.

Three ways to peace:

  1. Seek to have less rather then more.

  2. Seek to be last not first.

  3. In all things seek and accept the will of God not your own will.

When you find peace, abide there.

The Israel lobby are individuals and groups seeking to influence the United States government to better serve Israel’s interests. The largest pro-Israel lobbying group is Christians United for Israel with over seven million members.[1] The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is a leading organization within the lobby, speaking on behalf of a coalition of pro-Israel American Jewish groups.

The Israel lobby has funded primary campaigns against members of both parties who are viewed as hostile to Israel’s interests.[2][3][4]

Britain and America helped steal Palestine for Israel in the 1940s after WW2 by assisting with the land theft and genocide. Britain, America and Israel are effectively parts of a single international cartel crime syndicate. Each ‘country’ has its various roles to play. America is usually the muscle, but now it’s reached a point where Israel wants to be seen as the tough guy rather than the weak little victim they usually pretend to be. To shift the image that much… they must know something we don’t.

Are you implying I’m violent/promote violence, because I don’t revere martyrs?

Why do you want me, in particular, to?
.
Taking action/petitioning, is violent?

.

Did one of the martyrs say that?
.
Tell it to those causing wars atrocities and crimes and hope they listen. :+1:t3:

Other countries and regions are guilty of such things too though, spanning millennia… some more-so than others and some not at all.

.

…could be because Israel has the iron dome.

Yeah let’s see how well that functions. LOL

Consider:

John Charles Hagee (born April 12, 1940) is an American pastor and televangelist. He founded John Hagee Ministries, which telecasts to the United States and Canada. He is also the founder and chairman of the Christian Zionist organization Christians United for Israel.

On February 7, 2006, Hagee and some 400 leaders from across the Christian and Jewish communities formed Christians United for Israel(CUFI). This lobbies members of the United States Congress, using a biblical stance for promoting Christian Zionism

In his book, “Jerusalem Countdown: A Warning to the World” Hagee lists “biblical reasons” why America and all Bible believing Christians must stand with Israel and their claim to the land:

  1. “Israel is the only nation created by a sovereign act of God. Israel belongs to God himself! As creator of heaven and earth, God has the right of ownership to give the land to whomever he chose. God gave the title deed for the land of Israel to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their descendants forever. Ishmael, father of the Arabs, was excluded from the title deed to the land. Therefore, modern day, Palestinians have no biblical mandate to own the land.”

  2. “Christians owe eternal gratitude to the Jewish people for their contributions, which gave birth to the Christian faith.”

  3. “Jesus never denied his Jewishness.”

  4. “Christians are to support Israel because it brings the blessings of God to them personally.”

  5. “God judges the gentiles for their abuse of the Jews.”

Christians United for Israel (CUFI ) is an American Christian organization that supports Israel. Its statement of purpose is; “to provide a national association through which every pro-Israel church, parachurch organization, ministry or individual in America can speak and act with one voice in support of Israel in matters related to Biblical issues.” As a Christian Zionist group with over 10 million members,[1][2] it is the largest Zionist organization in the United States.[3] It operates under the leadership of John Hagee as founder and chairman,[4] along with Diana Hagee and Shari Dollinger as co-executive directors.[5]

CUFI embraces Christian Zionism which is tied to a specific eschatological interpretation of the Bible, i.e. the establishment and expansion of the state of Israel as a fulfillment of biblical prophecy. This theological framework prioritizes fulfillment of Bible prophesy over justice and peace for all people in the region. It supports Israel, primarily to hasten the second coming of Christ rather than out of genuine concern for the welfare of the Jews and Israelis

CUFI supports Israeli government policies, regardless of actions which violate international law or human rights, such as settlement expansion, and the treatment of Palestinians. This stance ignores the complexities of the Israel-Palestine conflict and dismisses the legitimate concerns of Palestinian Christians and Muslims. CUFI opposes a two state solution and rejects(all?) land concessions to Palestinians.
