Germany

Dear all,

Long time, no post? Jetzt wohne ich in Deutschland… Can anyone recommend a few places of philosophical significance that I could visit? I’ve already been to Nietzsche’s house and used his toilet, that was enough of him for me. Where else? I live in Bonn, near Cologne. Danke

you could visit kant’s thing in itself but you’d never find it…

Sweet! Cologne is an awesome city! I used to live in Zuendorf, on the Schäl Sick. I’d say the Dom and St. Ursula would be good calls for starters. If you can make it to the Wartburg you should. And since Weimar is right next door (to Wartburg) you can visit the Goethehaus as well. Berlin and Dresden as also pretty cool. And the Neatherlands is a quick train ride away, you can do a lot of, ummm, philosophizing there.

But, yeah, visit the Dom for me and have a Muehlen Koelsch.

If I could ever go to Germany it would be for the food and beer. Now that is culture, it beats France all to pieces for food and drink. The mountains of Germany hold a lot of human history and are supposed to be awesome. My husband’s family and my father’s grandparents hailed from Westfalia and near there. Dad said Germany is the prettiest country in Europe. since I have not been, I will take his word on it.

Go to Kan’t house, burn it down. Go to Hegel’s house, burn it down. Go to Luther’s house, burn it down. Then go back to Nietzsche’s house and hang a purple sash across it.

 I’m almost fell out of my chair reading that.

Germany? Je voudrais aller en France lieu. Paris defigurer sympa.

I want to go to Germany. Seems impossible to accomplish though.

Fill me in on what other STDs he might have had.

Haha gross

Anyway, thanks to all of you for your suggestions. As I've also already been to Goethe's haus (they show the chair he supposedly died in... sort of creepy), and lived in Dresden last year for a month, looks like I'm off to Koeln! Danke

OK, so here is what you really need to do. At least to understand the Xunzian.

Go to the Porze Pinte, in Porz. Last I checked, it was the third-last stop on the 7. Get off the 7 and there is this new fucking mall nobody should go to because it is shit. Look around. There will be a vernuenftige Doener-laden with a cutty sark on it. They make the bestest/worstest/drunkest doener in all of koelle. But across the street is the Pinte. It will have cowboy doors. I was thrown out of those cowboy doors many times. They only serve Sion Koelsch. Well, you can order other things, but I wouldn’t. Go there and have ein paar bierchen, weisst du? Then head north two stops. Ask for the Youth Center. Whatever the fuck they call it nowadays. They have a rockin’ basement, good punk scene (Punk muss wieder hass heissen), and cheap Koelsch (less than two D-marks, which means it is only twelve teuros).

Anyway, rock it out for me. Ask them, and/or the fine volk an die treppe bei der Dom if they remember John der Ami. Vielleicht they will.

Been to Goethe’s house, forgot about that. It was rebuilt exactly the way it was before the war. There are a lot of nice art museums.
