God is better than humanity

Even if you have best friends and a girlfriend they are the end of the day are imperfect and will let you down occasionally whereas God is perfect and will never let you down and God is unchanging a girlfriend can be extremely attractive but that only lasts so long and then it fades once the woman becomes middle aged.

Why would a perfect being such as God create imperfect beings such as humans?

Also, how do you know there is such a God? How do you know that God is not just as imperfect as we are?

Okay… how do you tell someone that they are coping so hard that it’s cracking monitors and bending fingers backwards, without telling them that they are coping so hard that it’s cracking monitors and bending fingers backwards?

Second question: Why tf would you ever decide to publicly proclaim this…?

When people describe themselves as “imperfect,” they are locating themselves relative to one or more implicit standards. Those standards can be psychological, social, moral, functional, or aesthetic.

When God describes people as imperfect, he is locating them relative to his standards.

You can’t say God is imperfect because he created imperfect humans without understanding that he had a purpose for doing so.

You can also claim that God is a mean God for allowing such misery to prevail in the world - and so having your own implicit faith in your ability to judge, you place the blame squarely on God. But is he really the culprit?

Imperfect as the situation is for us and the world, you can either seek faith in yourself and hope for the best because you know what is good and right for yourself, or humble yourself. Humbling yourself doesn’t mean putting yourself down, accepting low self-esteem, or letting people walk all over you, it just means your open minded, more conducive to learning why God has allowed free will in people and what his eventual plan entails for those who have faith in him and the reward that results from following his will.

Men are idiots but God is omniscient. Wish men would get a clue from God.

I understand the whole skeptical theism view where, as humans we cannot know God’s true motivations for we are finite beings that cannot know God in a way that would give us this information, but I ask these questions that you responded to for the sake of conversation starting, not because I believe that God could be or is imperfect. First there would have to be proof that such a God even exists as we conceive of him because even if there is a being that exists that is what we would consider God, there is no way to know that any property we attribute to the theistic God is something this being even has if it even exists. I personally think that there might be something that exists that we would consider God, but following the skepitcsl theistic argument logic of us being unable to truly know God’s reasons due to our being finite beings, how could we ever claim to know any properties of God? Or even claim that such a being exists? If anyone has some strong reasons for why they believe God exists as the way that we conceive of him, I would love to hear them and discuss them as long as there is not an appeal to the bible or any holybook because there is no way to verify the validity of such writings beyond having faith that the writings are truly the word of God. But faith is not what makes an argument strong, it is what allows for believe when there is no other argument, so if you have an argument not based in faith or trust, then I would like to discuss it.

Every person is a person. A person is a communicator of value. In order for value communication to be possible, there must be an original community of distinct communicators of value who never broke communion.

Just for clarification, is your strong reason for believing in God because there is an original community of distinct communicators of value that never broke communion? I ask because I am confused as to what this fully means. Can you explain further when able to?

My strong reason for believing is an experience I can’t share with you.

There are shareable reasons, but except the sort I just shared (which you claimed not to understand…without asking a specific question toward clarity…), you forbade them. They are widely available, anyway.

My imaginary friends never let me down, because I control how I picture them. Real persons cannot be controlled by me, so yes, sometimes I will be let down by their actions.

With regard to perfection, can you give a description how it looks like? What does it mean that something or someone is perfect? In what sense and how? If you cannot express it clearly, then the “perfect” remains an empty word.

I literally asked a specific question towards clarity. I said this exactly:

But besides unshareable reasons or a holy book, you have no reasons?

How much faith do you have in what you consider is truth?

A person creates a logically structured premise to make sense of the world then labels that subjective conclusion as truth to him or her. That’s okay, nothing wrong with it, one has to maintain a semblance of truth to function sanely in his world, but there’s no conclusion there as to the actual meaning of truth with absolute universal certainty. The only thing that is actually there is a logically ascertained premise, which that person calls truth amounting to nothing more than general explanation, conjecture or theory at a personal level.

Absolute truth is more of an exploratory framework of research when information is not definitely known or there is very little of significant value. It’s a flexible, unstructured approach designed to uncover new insights and formulate hypotheses for further investigation.

Since truth is a big deal when it comes to God and his word, would this not qualify as information to be included in the search for absolute truth?

Or is it all just a futile attempt to locate TRUTH amongst the uniqueness of persons whose individual concepts of truth should be acknowledged and upon on whom we should confer honor.

The reason why I ask for an argument not based in scripture of some kind is because there is no way to verify that it is actually the word of God beyond the claims that it is. I am asking for an argument that is not at it’s root, circular. Using the word of God to prove that God exists is just saying that God exists because God says that he exists. That is a circular argument, and to verify the existence of God, you would need something outside of that to verify God’s word as indeed being God’s word. It may not be possible necessarily to verify any Holy book, but there are many arguments out there for the existence of God that are not based on a Holy book. So I ask for any that someone here may have.

Maybe God didn’t actually create us as imperfect beings. He got the so-called ball rolling, we evolved in the different ways morally and ethically and historically in which we did, and due to His having given us free will, we ea h went our own way.

Would you have preferred to be a puppet?

When I see how amazing the Universe is all I can see is a perfect being. What is your explanation for how it all came into existence?

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder and probably perfection is too.

I don’t know the answer to how it all came into existence, but it hasn’t been proven to me that it was what we call God.

You say that God has given us free will. How do you know that? And how do you define free will?
