to me a god is a being that can do every and anything, sees all knows all. and for the rome thing it just came to me for some reason, even if it lives on in the people does that mean it still lives? what do you define as life?
Why not? We don’t know all the parameters of sentience, we can’t know it.
We don’t know all the universal parameters of life. we are stuck here on this mudball. We have not explored physically the universe. Our scientists can only have theories. Not certainties.
We do know that energy means life in many ways. If a certain energy was sentient would it need a physical body to be cohesive? No I don’t see that.
Certain manmade energies stay cohesive if traveling over distance. I don’t see why it would be impossible for a natural energy to remain constantly cohesive. If its intelligent and it can manipulate matter I would say its a living thing. Think on this; In the bible it is stated that man was created in God’s image right?
What does image really mean? All of its meanings? Did the Bible state clearly that man was created in God’s physical image? Or was man created in God’s sentient image?
If you see your image in a mirror it is opposite you is it not? Your actual left is opposite to your image’s left.
“In the image of” This phrase is really pretty cool. It has been normally translated as one thing. but, if you really read it and the entire phrase and paragraph surrounding it in all religious texts. It gets you thinking.
In: that word, In, what are its meanings?
We were created in God’s image, egads, that phrase can start its own debate and cause heated tempers to fly if people grasp the meanings of the words in depth.
What is life Zero? no one can fully define life yet. possibly a god can. but then again Wouldn’t there be a ceiling knowledge for a God too?

God = safety and independence from others.
Without beliveing in god you can’t actually respect a person as you should be respecting that person because you have a deluded sense that other people can cause you harm.

Well that is a biased statement of delusion and total lack of respoonsibilty. We don’t need a keeper to be responsible and do the right things. Putting such a onerous task on a God is removing self respect and responsibilty from yourself. You pass the buck. “God told me to do this so I am.” That is not intelligent, that is kindergarten.
Intelligence has shown me that ‘God’ cannot exist. But I like your definition better…exept the independence form others part. I don’t see how you can be indendent if all the believers have to be the same.

Dont know dont care. I think he or she got bored and wanted a way of amusing its self and created us. Well atleast thats one of my theories.
According to the theory of the conservation of matter, matter cannot be created or destroyed, only changed from one form to another. Because this theory exists, the scientific community has effectively decided that they no longer have to answer the question about where everything came from and why there is something in the universe instead of no universe at all. The thing is, that’s not true. Conservation of Matter may be a well-respected law of existence, but the law of cause and effect is much older and more basic. Therefore, some force led to the creation of space somehow, even if modern science is ill-prepared to explain it.
Whatever that force is, it clearly had the power to create matter, energy, space and mass, as well as whatever else is contained within the universe. It is for this reason that I believe in a “God” in some fashion.
I also believe that there are far too many absurd occurances within the universe to account for “God” being anything less than intelligent. The planet earth, for instance, is a responsive, brilliant, self-sufficient machine that, if not for man, would probably continue to operate indefinitely until the very day the sun no longer functioned right. Everything is in perfect balance, both on earth and in space. For every action in nature, there is an equal and opposite reaction, and that sort of balance doesn’t just happen by accident. That is why I believe that “God” is intelligent.
In my experience, when an intelligent individual or group of individuals creates something, a great deal about them can be told from what that thing is. Therefore, the nature of existence can tell us a great deal about the force that created us. First, and most obviously, “God” is creative, but has much self control within that creativity. The fact that it made space, galaxies, stars, planets, meteors, comets, trees, rocks, animals and people, but didn’t make. for instance, unicorns or mermaids clearly shows both great creativity and great restraint.
Secondly, God likes space. If it didn’t, there wouldn’t be so much of it in the universe.
God likes humans. There aren’t that many of them compared to the vastness of space, but the chances of human life forming on its own was so miniscule that, as I said, I’m not willing to consider it an accident. Plus, in theory, if God didn’t like humans, they would have all perished long ago.
Lastly, God likes suffering. We’re not sure why this is, but there’s simply too much of it in the universe to draw any other conclusion. Everything that lives suffers pain, whether it can express that pain with words or not. When further, verifiable facts turn up regarding God and the nature of pain, these conclusions may shift slightly, but for the moment, I consider them to be logical.
That is a very interesting theory, id like to learn more if you have more to offer, also, the universe is vast, there may be planets with creatures like unicorns.
You’re right, actually. Perhaps it’s just that planet earth is only one of many habitable planets within our infinite universe and something resembling a unicorn does exist in some other star system, but as with all things, our limited knowledge of existence also limits our ability to draw reliable conclusions. That’s one of the reasons I view my own conclusions as “logical theories.”
But anyway, there is one more thing I’ve concluded, and that is that God has at least a structured, limited appreciation for diversity, since the vast number of different types of things/animals/psychologies in the universe indicates at least an attempt to explore a variety of things that are physically, mentally and emotionally possible. This would also explain why some people are always in control while others are emotional wrecks.
Why would a god be in need of amusement?
That’s like needing to eat, breath, shit. That’s very mortal.
Needy god needs ego-boost so makes little men to have groveling under it. Ultra-mundane. But luckily, nature does not operate in such a way.
it could choose to live as a human forget its knowledge while in human form experience human life, die become god again and repeat the process until it bores it.

I think I’ve actually figured out what the whole ‘image’ thing means. Its essentially equivalent to Plato’s theory of forms and the ‘supreme idea’. God creates an image of himself which then ‘moves across the face of the waters’. ‘Waters’ signifies matter, it being originally formless and aqueous. This image remains static over matter, and will/intellect (such as our own minds) is channeled through it and brings the forms (the ideal forms being the image of God, and our forms being thoroughly imperfect versions of them) into the world. The material world then gradually grows toward the image of God to the point when it actually turns into God, and then God has brought matter into the likeness of himself - shined a light into the darkness. Intellect is co-equivalent with light, for light enables vision, as intellect does.
‘Jesus Christ’ is symbolic as the ‘Son of God’. The material world is the Son of God (not matter itself, but the material world with it’s forms), the Divine Image is the mother (virginal because pure and not corrupted by matter), and the Divine Intellect is the father. The father makes the son in the image of himself, in the mother - the womb of the universe.
The bible is a book that some guys wrote, a long time ago. The guys who wrote it, some of them said that God told them to write it. Not all of them said that it was God’s word. Allot of the bible is Jewish history records, not directly inspired prophecies. It’s a record of what they say happened to them. It’s basically the writings of a hand full of old people, from long ago. The bible is made of paper, and it has some ink in it. Paper, ink, people. That’s what it is.
“God is sadistic”, that is by-far something else.
“God is a rubber boot, that you must fight for” sounds pretty accurate to me. Let’s say me and 50 others, wrote down, long ago, that God is a rubber boot, that he created trees to make rubber out of later, from the sap, etc. And that he fortold rubber boots would be created in future times. Isn’t that valid?
