God is THE answer...

Oh yee of little faith. Why don’t people understand that

God is THE answer.

He is the answer to all your questions that you cannot seem to answer.
That is what he is. The Alpha and the Omega.
The beginning and the end to all questions.

I’ve always thought to myself that if I beleived in a God he’d have to be defined as the summary of that which I can’t understand. That would mean that he controls what I can’t. That’s really about all the thought I’ve ever put into it.

So that means God = the unknown?

I hope this is sarcasm, because not only is that statement grammatically and semantically unsound, its ludicrous.

What is the square root of 2?
Is there a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow?
Why is the sky blue?
Why is Billy gay?
Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
If you hit up, up, forward, backward, A+B in Mortal combat 3 will I do the really cool attack?

Is “God” THE answer to these questions too? Afterall they are indeed questions I can not seem to answer.

Now, if you say “no thats not what is meant by that” then please…

Either make your statements clear with no obvious flaws (like the ones i presented here), or shut the fuck up with your mindless religious dribble.

If it was just sarcasm then I have no beef and you can ignore everything you just read.

I guess it means that if there is a God, I don’t know him.

You know whats so great about God? Is that we don’t understand him and his ways, that just shows how small and dumb we are compared to him!

Evolution, what? Carbon Dating has been thrown out! Can’t believe people think it all started in some soup!

Its just god, thats all anyone needs, God man, just god.

All comments i’ve heard first hand from some christians this past week. I find them depressing. Knowledge is not important, the only thing you need is God, no need to understand, read, or have any intelligence. You just need God and the bible. If you can’t understand it just say thats wonderful, its Gods way of showing his power.

Is this not scary somewhat?

Also on another note. Does anyone think as I’m starting to, that in the next 10 years if not sooner, we will have a big split in contemporary stupid christians and apologetics practicing christians? While I do have more respect for apologetic christians, I at my point in my life cannot say that a great apologetic christian can exist. I believe if God exists though, there will be some incredibly genius apologetic christians which are somewhat unknown to myself.

I only say this because I know of many people who don’t think logic and reason matter anymore. The only thing that matters as God. It feels like a cop-out to me. And ill add I don’t remember the bible saying you need to be dumb. Paul talks about apologetics, jesus uses his wisdom he doesn’t say just believe in me man shutup. “should we pay taxes to caesar?” Hey guys, its all about God, let his love fill your heart, this is all that matters.

NO, I dont’ think thats what happened.

God is sadisct and he contradicts his self too much.

Things like logic and reason always boil down to a metaphysical level if taken far enough. The terms themselves are essentially ambiguous. Reason for all intents and purposes just means having a reason, being able to justify it to another’s standard isn’t part of the deal. Logic is from what I can tell almost wholly descriptive. Could we not boil down the semantics of a religious statement to a symbolic form and thus illuminate it’s logic just the same as any other statement?

What am I missing here?

We seem to think it is a he.

…and if God gives a shit about a tiny blue dot in the suburbs of an average galaxy…one of billions of others.

Um, what was the question?

If any god has all the answers why does it need us?

I love language. I can’t believe the amount of responses I got from this post!
I could only wish for a response like alexmabee’s. I put the bate on the line out there and got a bite! I made it sound very Christian didn’t I? with the Alpha and Omega and King James talk of “yee of little faith”.

I’m stating exactly what God is…
“The beginning and the end to all questions.”

That is what he is, and that is all that he is. That is the purpose of the concept of him. Get it now?

Supposing the supernatural creates endless new and unsolvable/circular/problematic questions (the beginning of questions) and God is the answer to all of them, let alone all of the questions we already don’t have answers to in the natural world. A simplistic variation of ‘The God of Gaps’. I thought it would be fun to play with the words and see the responses. I shouldn’t have shown my cards this early but I couldn’t resist letting people know what I was really saying. :sunglasses:

Precisely! I’m reading through Rundle’s - Why there is Something rather than Nothing. This is exactly what he talks about. Perhaps I did this ambiguous post because I’ve really been thinking about it. If anything, this post confirms, in a way, Rundle’s claims.

Ok God is not the answer to all questions, but mearly the one that knows all the answers, is george lucus the answer to every star wars question, no, just the one that can answer all the questions with the CORRECT answer.

You should post the article in the “post or request an article” thread.

=D> =D> =D>

God is the point at which you give up on trying to understand the unknown. It is simply a placeholder for fear.

So by finding out more we are essentially destroying God. Or perhaps becoming him

What makes you think we are not part of the answers he has?

Perhaps.

This made me thing of Shiva, the creater/destroyer. Something is destroyed as something is created.
